Some games benefit from demos some don't. I think this is one that would because it is a 2nd tier game that people won't be buying automatically and need some nudge one way or another. Who would need a demo of Gears 2 or Resistance 2 to make up their mind?

In any case, I've been finding demos more than not have turned me off to a game I'm on the fence about than vice versa.

Gamecock hasn't done much to make a name for themselves outside of their antics. I'm hoping Legendary does well. Moreso for Spark that laid an egg with Turning Point. I imagine Legendary could sink them if it flops.

Ah, there just wasn't enough bounce to the article to get that much attention ;)

Does anyone know who created the zip format? What about the designer of Photoshop which is a well designed and highly regarded piece of sofware? Why do we need to worship the visionaries of gaming software? There's alot more important and endearing software out there that is just as creative and more beneficial than a game is.

Too much credit is given to one person in the movie and gaming industry. It takes a whole fleet of people to create these pieces of entertainment.

I think people have been scoffing at Sony saying we are in this with the PS3 for the long haul (10 year plan). I really think their actions are speaking louder than their words. They can't cut the price now without losing more money so they are going to ride it out until their cost comes down and they can then reduce the price. If that means they don't have as good an '08, then so be it. As long as in the long run their plan works for them.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Wii is like art, I would compare it more to a fad something like the Rubix Cube. If you were around in the 80's everyone had a Rubix Cube. If you weren't playing with one then you weren't "in". Was it fun? I guess it was fun for a bit. Something to do while your friend took his turn on Atari Pitfall or you were in the car driving to Grandma's and dreaming of the day you could watch movies from the backseat.

Then all of a sudden ...

I disagree with the author's conclusions. Games are not just getting easier, they are evolving. He mentions having to draw out a map in the old days and yes I can remember using graph paper in Bard's Tale to carefully draw every square of a dungeon. Would I want to do that today? No way, it was tedious and boring, so now the game takes care of the map for me.

What about going back 4 hours to my last saved game as the author mentions? I don't have time to replay 4 hours o...

Exactly. Maybe he thought that when it was released but didn't want to kill sales.

Just from all the interviews and how he talks about Fable II, I suspect he is pretty happy with this one though.

Sometimes Peter is a little too honest for his own good. I actually picked up Fable for like $12.00 used just to check it out. No big loss if it isn't that good, but I imagine I'll enjoy it. I'll play through it before tackling Fable 2.

That was an entertaining way to present bug and design fixes. The checklist looks like all these great features were added.

I attempted to follow the link but the content was disabled by the copyright holder, so my timing was too slow. Then I incorrectly deduced the reference was to PC gaming.

I wonder what the pirates are all going to say when devs no longer make games for the PC. "Oh, we are sorry, come on back. We won't steal anymore."

You wind up with the better deal when you get the game later with all the DLC and extras put in. Even though I have a PS360, I'll wait to hear if it is coming to PS3 and wind up getting it then if that is the case.

I enjoyed that 10 year retrospective of Level-5 in the last video. They really haven't made a stinker in all those 10 years.

It sounds to me like the gameplay was kind of shoehorned in there. The demo scene is more about playing with hardware/graphics and doing neat, artistic things. Sony probably worked with them to add gameplay where it most likely wasn't needed.

In any case, I'm intrigued enough to check it out. My kids will probably find it entertaining to watch also.

It's interesting they don't have a list for the PSP, but they do for everything else.

Ben may not have even been the person to create the name of the URL. He may have passed the content on to a web guy that posted it online and that person probably saw Peter M. and just absent-mindedly created Peter Moore. It's not like Ben confuses the 2 within the article. Seems like a silly thing to point out really.
