The press is myopic when it comes to the well being of a console. Not too many months ago the 360 was the one in danger and it was the year of the PS3. Now they have reversed their stance and all because the 360 had a price drop and picked up sales, while the PS3 has not. Sony still has a price drop in their back pocket and most likely will play that card early '09 and then the press will once again flip flop and condemn Microsoft while touting Sony.

In the end all 3 console...

Boy, earth shattering news: The 360 breaks, the Wii has no good games and the PS3 is underachieving... Haven't heard those arguments before :O

Why is the comparison to Motorstorm? Motorstorm was a pack in with the 80GB PS3, so sales of a pack in shouldn't be taken into consideration when comparing against an off the shelf game.

Look how well Wii Play sells every month. How many people would have bought it if it didn't include a Wiimote?

These games aren't going anywhere. Why do games have to sell within the first week or so to be successful? I'll be picking up alot of these titles in '09 when they drop in price and I have more time to play them. Why do I need 15 titles in the span of a month? I can't possibly play them all.

You only need to buy one set of instruments, so possibly he bought a full kit for one and just the disc for the other.

I'll just say my 6 year old plays co-op with me and although he dies more frequently then I do, he has cleared many levels.

You get used to the controls. If the game didn't offer 3 layers along the z-axis the game would be alot less sophisticated and the options for user created levels would be significantly less.

What are they thinking bringing something like this to the compete with Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Not like they didn't have the formula right out in front of them and more time to create it. I doubt those numbers are accurate though, but in any case I'm sure they are low.

That was pretty funny actually. I'm surprised the dad had a look of disgust on his face. That was all for the mom's benefit. He'll be reading those in the bathroom when she drifts off to bed.

Reminds me of that episode of "Curb your Enthusiasm" where Larry had to go remove Jeff's porn stash after he went to the hospital in case something happened to him.

I wholeheartedly agree with this article. DLC in alot of cases is not an issue...yet. Look at Tales of Vesperia where you could buy your way through the grind levels. Even though that does seem silly, I have no problem with it. No, I wouldn't buy it, but the game is not crippled nor am I getting less of a game because of it. It's there for people who want to fast track.

Now, take Battlefield Bad Company (had EA gone through with it). You pay $5.00 for the privelege of the...

This game is the best $60.00 I've ever spent on a game period. I can see getting 100's of hours out of it just playing and creating.

I can't wait to see what DLC MM adds in the future. A Creator's toolkit with new motors and toys to play with and of course WATER.

Ironically, MM/Sony figured moderation was there to save the game and to keep it from degrading into p#nis fests and whatnot is having an adverse affect. Now, devious complainers can get quality levels removed which scares off would be publishers. MM/Sony need to make sure the objections to a level are just before wielding the delete key. They also need to take note of those complaining and look for trends on those that cry wolf too many times.

In the end, LBP is a great gam...

#6. Some games still do it, but the ability to carry 600 weapons on your person is going the way of the dinosaurs for the more realistic pistol, large firearm and some grenades then your hands are full. Though, I'm still trying to figure out how I carried a steel drum around in MGS4.

#7. Tighter checkpoints. There's really 2 sides to this one as it means games are less challenging if checkpoints are more frequent, however I don't really like replaying the same areas over and...

Man, all I hear anymore are publishers/devs trying to come up with ideas to milk gamers. Pay to get weapons, pay for every little bit of DLC no matter the size or content, pay to fast track your character's levels, pay to fight the final boss.

Instead of coming up with creative ways to make gamers pay beyond the $60.00 they already paid, just put that creativity to creating good solid games that they are willing to pay for.

The age of the internet is both a bles...

Cliffy B. was wondering when LBP was "Gonna get to the gunplay". No wonder it didn't take first place, how can it with no guns?

Ford has a new program where if you buy their cars used the brakes don't work until you pay them $3000.00. You won't be told this until you attempt to stop at your first light.

Just get over it developers. Rentals, used, borrowed, hand me down games are going to exist just like they exist for every other product out there except toilet paper and in this economy even toilet paper might be up for some reuse.

The software industry isn't hurting for money. Cliffy ...

I think rentals is a far bigger issue then used games. One rental disc has the potential to visit 20-30 homes in its lifetime. A used game probably will have 2 or 3 owners tops on average.

If it weren't for rentals there are tons of games I would never have played. Knowing if it's a stinker I can drop it back in the mail the next day gives me the chance to play alot of games I would never buy.

I'm very much not looking forward to digital distribution. All t...

Alright kid, listen. There's no Santa, no Tooth Fairy, there isn't even an Easter Bunny, now get out of the aisle I can't reach COD5.

True, I'm trying to remember now the AC ending. I remember alot of talking and then some crying, but I think the crying might have been on my part.

In any case, if gamers don't buy these innovative titles, then we have no one to blame but ourselves when publishers and devs stop making them and just churn out same ole same ole.

ME = Mirrors Edge & Mass Effect.

We officially have an acronym issue and since both appear to be heading into sequel...
