Are we at a point where we have too many authors in the gaming press/blogworld? It seems daily we have these useless articles that some author feels compelled to write something to fill up some space and things of this nature pop into their head.
It often seems like they have good space that needs an article instead of a good article that needs some space.
Price right now should be Sony's top priority. They chose to create the most expensive console on hopes that buyer's would see the value in spending and getting more. However, they were blindsided as most businesses were by the recession, and now consumers are more price conscience than ever. Sony is sticking to their guns and not dropping the price for one of two reasons: Either they can't afford a price drop considering how the company is fairing or they do believe that the PS3 has a 10...
Heavy Rain (PS3)
A dark and serious story-driven action game with RPG elements, set in a more futuristic world than Fable but following a similar path. Whether bad or good, your actions impact the road the game takes.
What? Heavy Rain is an RPG like Fable? ummm... ok. Research man, research.
Does it matter if it was cut for scheduling reasons or cut to be sold as DLC? The point is the content was created with the intent to go in the base game and it was removed. I'm of the firm mind that DLC should be created above and beyond the base game and that the efforts of the development team (including expense) should go towards solely creating DLC to justify charging for it. If you created it under the budget and schedule of the main game, then it was paid for by the $60.00 dropped w...
They aren't going to draw attention to new hardware when all XBox's "should" be the same (75% of consumers probably don't know about RROD), otherwise they would have alot of old hardware sitting on retail shelves while people pick up the Jasper models. It's like seeing 409 and new and improved 409 next to each other on the same shelf only they both have to be sold at the same price. If 409 was so great why is it now new and improved? Sure if new and improved cost me $2.00 more I ...
Good point. They haven't bolstered their "mystique" as the top tier RPG developer with mundane and in some cases sub par efforts in '08.
Hard to tell with this one. I think this game might be one of the better superhero movies and I'm pulling for it to do well.
Eidos has a way of shooting themselves in the foot though with PR and marketing. Remember the whole Kane and Lynch fiasco and then this year they were nixing poor reviews early.
Wow, to each their own I guess. I have all 3 consoles and the Wii wins the dust test by a mile. There have been some good games, but even my young kids are growing bored of it.
Imagine if Nintendo didn't have motion control or come out with Wii Sports, they would be just a distant memory this gen.
That was a rather harmless segment. I don't think they outright attacked games as they said anything can be addictive which is true, although why they focused on games and not all forms of media is a mystery. They had a few comments about the kid playing in the basement alone which is old school thinking about games, which unforunately the older generation still perceives as the way it is. In any case, she was rather positive saying games showed higher intelligence scores and better spatia...
It may not be an exclusive, but Prototype could be one of those that doesn't fulfill expectations. It was due out last year and pushed back and now it will come out near to Infamous which is pretty similar. Hoping for the best though.
Ah, that is too cool. You are almost going to have to buy this add on as everyone and their brother is going to start using that paintgun in their level.
Apparently MS has gotten away with providing shoddy hardware that they didn't actually have to fix. Who would have thought you could release a product with upwards of a 33% failure rate (and more than likely higher) and still sell it successfully?
In any case, Reeves did say a few nice things about the competition which is very rare in this industry.
"Say something nice about your brother"
"You don't sweat much for a fat a$$"
both lists look really good.
I would also toss in
Alpha Protocol
Batman AA
NMH2
Borderlands
Brutal Legend
Chronicles of Riddick
I wonder how things have soured so quickly over there. They lost Battlefront and then couldn't get a publisher for TS 4? Seems like that shouldn't have been too difficult to get a publisher for. I don't imagine this is fallout from Haze. One stinker doesn't usually condemn a company (Spark is still in business).
I fought and beat the urge to get games when they first hit the shelves. Too many times I would have a game that I didn't even get to until a few weeks or months later and by then the thing was half as much as when I bought it. Might as well be sitting on the store shelf dropping in price then on my shelf not dropping in price.
Games lose their value so fast it is crazy. I've seen games just a week in drop $10.00 - $20.00. Only the biggest of hits stay at $59.99 for ages.

He's been there forever. He's a pretty intelligent guy that doesn't hold any pretenses. I think he deserves it. See how the content is affected now by his slant on things.
The grammar in this article is horrendous. Is this guy a respected voice in the movie review world? You lose alot of credibility when you can't form basic sentences or use punctuation at a 3rd grade level.
What media outlet or website doesn't push its own agenda? Even the nightly criminal report... I mean the nightly news has an agenda to push.
I wish the holiday items were here about 2 weeks back. Xmas is so close and by the time you whip out a level it will have passed. In any case, Xmas levels can be year round I suppose.
Well, you couldn't prize out everything here. The costumes and the new wrapping material wouldn't work. You can't prize out collected objects from MM, but you could create them and then save them as a custom object and that should work.
It still boggles my mind to this day XPlay defends Too Human like it was a top 5 game of the year. They recently had a show recommending great '08 games and TH came up again. Recall when it came out how they were shocked with all the reviews and gave it a "strong 4".
