The delays in getting FFXIII out could cause it to become irrelevant when it is released. Most devs go through a 2 year cycle getting games out. FFXIII may be released 2 or more years after the intended date which means a first gen title for the PS3 is now competing with 2nd and 3rd gen titles (Insomniac as DJ mentioned above will be on its 4th title by then). It may not be anything special at that point other than a FF game which does hold alot of weight, however it may disappoint.

I caught that part, but it worked well with my disbelief at how underpaid I was back in the stone ages, so I went with it :)
>>Metal Gear Solid 4 is the greatest game on PS3 or any console for that matter
I thought Killzone 2 was? Ah jeeze, just drop Snake onto Helghan and let's see who comes out alive.
Watch the video on his question. The guy is really out there. Maybe Sony doesn't want him talking about the PS3 :o
>>who flips burgers for $7.85 an hour
Yikes, I think I got $4.25 when I was that age. No wonder he can afford a PS3 :)
If they are just now getting started, when will it come out? Might be past its prime if they are porting Crysis. Better to go with a new title.
I played through the whole game and it was pretty much average throughout. The nectar angle was fun to play around with. If the game had come out 3 or 4 years earlier it would have done well and not have gotten such a bad rap.
Zack and Wiki had the unfortunate name and box art to convince buyers it was a kid's game when in reality it wasn't. Kids didn't really know much about it and older Wii buyers just passed it by.
2 Christmas's back I gave a list of some Wii games I wanted and some games my son wanted to my mother. Included on MY list was Z&W. My mother wound up getting it for my son thinking it was a kids game. He was only 5 at the time so he quickly got overwhelmed by the game and los...
Metroid Prime 3 and (possibly) the upcoming Conduit say hello.
Good points! I think we are probably about 5-10 years out from the the older gamers (like you and I) really getting a foothold in public opinion.
I have to say I enjoyed this game. Yeah, it was buggy in places, but overall I had a good time with it.
Videogames just get a bad rap from older generations. Even the words video games cause moms to roll their eyes and remark how their kid is addicted and needs to get sunshine and exercise. I've never heard a parent tell a child to put down that book and do something constructive, although one could argue that video games have many beneficial side effects as do books.
Too much of anything is not good and that is one of the traits of video games in that it takes many hours to ...
It's not too different from 2 siblings fighting with each other as they grow up. The anti-fanboys are much like the parents trying to stop it. Both sides are equally as noisy and in the end both are going to do what they are going to do.
If you've been around enough gaming sites like N4G, you just develop a filter and read those articles you care about and ignore all the rest. Although, I would say I like to read these anti articles because of the hypocrisy of their message....
Furthermore, this site is going from News 4 Gamers to Blogs 4 Gamers. I'm just waiting for forum postings to start getting their own headlines because most of these blog posts are just forum rants copied and pasted into a blog site.
When did gamers become entitled to tell developers how to design and "fix" their games? Am I sending open letters to Stephen King telling him how to adjust his preview chapter for his next book to make it more pleasing to his readers?
This guy likes horde mode... ok. Maybe his neighbor doesn't. You will never play a game that is 100% to your liking. If enough people don't like it, sales will reflect that and publishers/developers will adjust. A poorly written op...
If your blog is full of spelling and grammar errors, you lose all credibility.
I just don't see it coming out unless they port ME over too. They will lose sales expecting the PS3 owners to start the story on ME II. Similar thinking went into Bioshock I'm sure (Yes, I know Bioshock isn't EA). They were coming out with #2 and wanted that multiplatform but wanted to get #1 in the PS3 owners hands first.
I can't believe I'm quoting Cliffy B (or psuedo quoting him since I can't remember exactly what he said), but a question came up in one of his myriad of interviews while he had a Playboy model on each arm :) and the answer was rather interesting.
The question was alot of other games have come along with a cover system but none of those games has had the success and impact of Gears.
Cliffy's response was that you have to build a game around that cover system. Y...
Both Sony and MS have said something along the lines they have a couple of unannounced titles this year (first party?). Pretty vague though. Maybe they are holding out until E3.
I'd be curious to know which games they lost the most money on. Dead Space and ME both did a million units which I imagine is probably where EA pegged it at. New IP is risky and a million tends to be the golden number.
I don't think EA is going to abandon new IP. Today's new IP is tomorrow's sequel. They might have a few more safer titles than usual, but I don't see them blaming buyers for not picking up their new titles.
I have maybe 3 movies I can stream to my XBox out of about 20-25 in my Netflix queue. If I got a subscription solely for the benefit of pulling the movies in on my 360 (I've had Netflix for about 4 years), I wouldn't be too happy. If that percentage goes way up, then it's a different story.
