One day I came home and found my PS3 was no longer standing vertically but was lying horizontally on the floor. I suspect either someone from MS broke in and kicked it over or my cat bumped it. I'm going with the former.

I don't think Sony is holding back the PSP and PS3 so that latter games will be superior. The PSP was governed to run slower mainly to save on the battery. I wouldn't say they sped it up to give the impression of better games.

Comparing apples to oranges. Losing 3rd party titles didn't cause the PS3 exclusives devs try harder. I don't think Insomniac said, oops there goes FFXIII to the 360, let's work overtime. Sony lost the exclusives and that hurts their system. 1st and 2nd parties create great games, that helps plain and simple.

Gaming journalism especially is alot like watching young kids play soccer (or football for you folks across the pond). The ball goes one way and everyone runs after it. Then someone kicks it and the swarm runs another way. About a year ago all these articles were how the PS3 is resurging and gaining momentum. Then MS has a price drop and it's back to the edge of the precipice for Sony. Come April when the PS3 gets a price cut, the ball will get kicked the other way and we will once again...
Article is based solely on the author's conjecture that what MS is doing is hurting MS. Back up the story with facts and sales figures about how their purchases or investements in games and DLC is proving detrimental to MS then you might have something.

Why didn't Ensemble just split from MS like Bungie did? It makes more sense to keep the Ensemble name and it would have kept any hard feelings employees might have had from having their company dissolved.

I would say out of the 5, the first 3 did respectable numbers and GTP did great. The last 2 especially VC didn't do so well, but Motorstorm has a good tail and is still selling pretty good, so may have good numbers in the end.
