[edit] sorry, didn't realize the original source set the poor title.
Wonder why this and Prototype are coming out in the same month. You would think one of the publishers would have wanted some distance from the other.
Jerry Jones said they wouldn't release T.O. and look what happened.
Sony will cut the price this year, I just don't think anyone knows when. They might be looking at KZ2 to see if that helps sales before making a decision. They will have one by the holiday season I'm sure.
The problem they might face is MS might be ready to counter their next price cut to still keep some distance.
This is one game where you have no idea the setting or what it could look like, heck they could even move away from the FPS style of game and still have a meaningful sequel.
Coincidentally, I just finished Bioshock about 3 days ago... great game if you haven't played it.
Why is it these days that when a game has issues it has to be related to the faulty hardware and not faulty programming? This title is obviously an attention grabbing title, when in reality you would attribute freezing issues to the code running on the hardware, not the hardware running the code.
Author contradicts himself in a few places. On one hand DMC4 didn't sell well because it wasn't released around other big title games, but Mirror's Edge didn't sell well because it was.... ok, so when do you release a game?
Sony has a harsh system of reviews that keeps bad games off their system and must show the power of the playstation to be accepted. Where did that come from? How many multiplatform games has Sony turned down that have then gone on to be released on the 36...
You also have to factor in that billion dollar hit on extended warranties.
First of all, I don't know why anyone interviews corporate execs from any company. They give you nothing and just defend their company and its decisions in a PR framework that tells you absolutely nothing and reveals nothing.
Second, the corporate speak is rather degrading to their customers. We are all "consumers" consuming entertainment "experiences" in a "value added" and "choice driven" environment.
I get all warm and...

The only redeeming part of the movie was the FPS scene at the end of movie in an homage to the original game, but this seems to be the only thing the movie and game really have in common.
Yikes, that part of the movie was so out of place and ridiculous. Not that the movie was going anywhere in the first place.
It's not easy to just rip off someone's head with your hands. There's alot of twisting and turning and pulling and yanking and that's just getting started, at least that's what the voices have told me. Mommy, is that you Mommy?
Gotta agree with Fox on this one. If they are going to give PS3 ME2, then they would have to give them ME first or risk low sales. Not that many people want to start in the middle. I'm sure the desire by 2K to port Bioshock was affected by the fact Bioshock2 was planned for multi platform.
Seems like the PSP would be a good choice for a platform game. Wonder if publishers are just hard on the handheld.
:) at Soda.

Skip reading the article, it can be summed up in one sentence:
Can (your game here) live up to the hype?
options are:
Halo 4
KZ3
GoW III
FFXIII
GT5
Uncharted 2
ad infinitum
So if iPhone and iPods are banned from the house wouldn't that mean the children are wanting them above MS products? I don't have to tell my kids they can't bring spinach in the house.
That's really an apples to oranges comparison. Publishers have a choice to make a DS or a PSP game when they want to make a portable game (and now possibly an iPhone app). The 2 are different enough that you typically don't make it multiplatform unless it is one of those games that shows up everywhere (like Iron Man). The DS has been swaying publishers in that direction for reasons cited in this article.
PS3 and 360 games are just the opposite. They are more than likely g...
Outside of the hardcore fanbase, there are no celebrities in gaming. No celebrities means no interest in an awards ceremony from the general public, which means it won't ge much bigger than the Spike awards watched by those interested in the gaming industry.
If I buy a used car, I'm not giving money to Toyota
If I buy a used computer, I'm not giving money to Dell
If I buy a used book, I'm not giving money to Stephen King (or his publisher).
What about games that are no longer available retail? I've picked up many old PS2 games that haven't been available as new for years. Should we ban ALL used game sales? In fact, I've picked up games that I then went out and bought a sequel to that was new on the shelf from the s...
Turning Point was developed by Spark Unlimited and yes published by Codemasters. At least Codemasters was smart enough not to publish their follow up game: Legendary which was published by Gamecock.
They did have LBP in there and I think they had either WoW or Everquest too.
