Exactly.
Senior Citizens, middle aged, college-age females, children...
as I've said before, they seem to have everything covered except the hardcore 14-30 male demographic. (Even that one's being tempted now with Prime, COD, and Smash Bros.) We'll see how it goes.
Yeah! I know. :(
What's really crazy is how they're selling the old gamecube at a loss. O_O
Better buy one now, I figure they're losing $75 per old GC. So they're just barely making their money back on the Wii.
/sarcasm
If you can be ridiculous, so can I.
Funny. :)
So where's the SixAcne controller? That'd sell.
Yeah it'd be terrible for parents to think that they could buy a console that little Suzy would want to play with Grandma.
Let's buy Suzy a different one so she can practice headshots on bag-ladys instead...
Not everyone is so concerned with being hardcore.
It certainly is a small fraction.
Hardware failures, price and software would be larger parts of it. Nationalism might be part of it, but releasing games with little insight into cultural myths and culture in general doesn't help. The hardware failures play directly into what all japan thinks of US engineering... Then the fact that it's the same price as a console with a larger feature set...
Thinking that it's just japanese snobbery is just blindness.
"Is saying this game is a rental or a bargain bin purchase, the new stealth troll?"
Just be glad they aren't calling it casual. :p
They might just be stating their opinion.
It doesn't look like anyone's exactly winning to me.
I love the wii. My friends and family who have played it love the wii. I think there's a buzz among non-gamers/casuals and in the hardcore you have a minority that are fairly vocal. So a large number of casuals/non-gamers' enthusiasm moves the data up and the ps3/360 hardcore drop it. Same thing with both other consoles.... haters from opposite camps have brought all of the consoles down to near neutral.
The lo...
Sorry, can't appreciate your reply.
I'm off to play Nintendogs...
I keep saying it, but I still think swinging the thing around backwards to bash a soldier/alien in the head with the butt of your rifle is a cool concept that is not natural (or practical to map) without this. As is the feel of a gunblade for sword-fighting/shooting.
What about two of these (one in each hand) to approximate Bloodrayne-type weapon-play? Crouching when you drop the weapon height... I'm just throwing things out...
It's going to be more ergonomic and...
:( I had Rise of the Robots... still have the box and cd somewhere...
Yeah... it was really bad. That's where it's nice to have a large, critical gaming media around. Back then it was just a few magazines to peruse and buyer beware...
"But who's in the lead now?"
Nintendo.
Even if MS is in the lead, it's mostly because of their headstart. I don't think MS really understands consumer goods in general.
Marketing software is their strength. They've never proven anything else.
Hmmm... now I'm interested in their take on Heavenly Sword. :p
Every user review site I know has this problem. The only solution is to shut down the site.
Gotta agree with the reply. There are very few retail outlets where you can screw up, lose a few hundred (let alone thousands) for the company and not get fired.
That's just with a honest mistake or a blunder.
Selling h3 is intentional. They've been warned. Therefore it's only idiocy or greed that could cause them to do this. I'd fire them in a second. God knows what else they're doing in your store if they'll do that.
"Every single Wii game would fall in this same boat."
So you've played every single Wii game, have you?
Look everyone, it's the wii's biggest fanboy. :) He rents or owns every single wii game. How did you like Barbie Island Princess btw?
Seriously, that's such a troll that I have difficulty responding seriously. There are more than enough wii games with excellent implementation of motion controls (MP3, ExciteTruck, Super Swing Golf, Resid...
I kid, I kid... but seriously, why demonstrate hc blindness/a close-minded thinking so blatantly? I guess maybe for pity?
Wasn't being critical, just pointing things out. I agree, original source should be sought out as much as possible...
Though I'd still like more details on the study than their summary, but they like to make people pay ($10k) for their compilation of publicly available data.
Doesn't seem like he's going to listen to you. Probably better to just leave it alone.
Same data as referenced in this story yesterday:
http://www.n4g.com/industry...
Anyway, I think most people find a source or two that has similar taste to themselves and those are the only ones they give much credence.
It's not costing Nintendo $100 extra to switch a few jumpers and ram up the clock speed.
Seriously, it's an old troll and it's being proved more and more inaccurate by this very story. As I stated above, if what you say is true, then nintendo must have been selling at loss throughout the entire gamecube generation. If the wii is indeed costing as much as stated wholesale then it's an entirely different beast than the gamecube. Simple knowledge of component prices will tell you ...
