While not everyone is making big budget games, I wouldn't be surprised to see certain Devs justifying universal $60 to pay for AAA budgets and advertising. $60 is the norm, we "accept it" and Devs are fine with it. It would take a major shake-up from consumers and specific Devs for price to go down. If sales decrease and Devs find they can reduce prices without losing money per sold, then it's possible they would do it then
I don't see it changing anytim...
It would be cool to see the gamepad used in something like MGS. Use it for visors, inventory, controlling a UAV simulatenously, detect weakpoints or the condition of enemy limbs, heartbeat sensor, etc.
The simple answer to the article is no. Metroid Prime and Bioshock were amazing and they had no MP, I play them ever so often because the single player is so memorable. The problem with Multiplayer is when it takes away from the single-player, or when you have a game like CoD where the mulitplayer is the bulk of the experience, if the multiplayer doesn't excite and the story is nothing special you have a dull game.
While a good single-player is timeless many mulitplayer ...
He's not saying we'll never see the video pitch, but that we won't see a CGI Zelda film. No one would be that idiotic to imbed something and say we won't see the exact thing they imbeded
Can't believe I even had to explain that to you.
I wonder how much it cost Nintendo to make these games. Imagine if they spent $10k on each one, $40k Total
In one month they made 100 times what they put in, with little to no advertsiing. Just by having a message when you open the eShop saying "check out these games".
And I doubt it cost them $10k each. Nintendo made easy money
The WiiU is a great console to develop for, if only more 3rd parties could see it. So many Devs are into the power aspect of systems that they won't even try if they can't get the best visuals. For many Devs Power>Gameplay, equal at best. The AAA mentality is the bane of the WiiU, among other things
Indies don't want huge power, they want a platform to express their ideas, the opportunity to make their dreams a reality. Rayman Legends exists because of what the...
The funny thing about last gen is it took awhile for Sony and MS to make a noticeable dent in the marketplace. While Nintendo was bathing in money off their novel, low cost console you saw Sony struggling to justify their high cost and Xbox swirling in hardware failures with a lackluster launch window. It was only when you saw price cuts and huge bumps in content that you saw them make their stride (MS wasn't nearly as bad as Sony, but they weren't stellar either)

They have to bring a StarFox and a F-Zero to the WiiU. Their no-show on the Wii was unnacceptable. F-Zero is a difficult to play Racer with no limitations on Track Design, once Mario Kart 8 has had it's fun it would be nice to get a hardcre racer to play that is hyper-realistic. Getting a StarFox in the vein as the original would be a great service to the fans. The cockpit/third-person space shooter genre is devoid of life, a StarFox true to its roots has potential. Include SNES Gibberish...
3rd party does seem ideal. Everyone wins
The plot thickens. Wish we knew more on who all bid, guess we'll have to wait and find out
Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie, and even Star Fox Adventures had some of the best graphics of their time. They've made some of the best Open/Hub Worlds in gaming history as well
When they were with Nintendo no one could match their graphical prowess, you couldn't ask for more.
I love this man's music. The oldest work of his I know of is Total Annhilation, my favorite RTS of all time
Pikmin 3 is just the beginning. The next 8-9 months are going to be sweet
For me it will always be the $100 difference. Kinect just isn't important to me at all, not worth the extra $100
Edit:26 Gigs, not megs.
And why 60 Gigs HDD? I have a 60 Gig 360 and it's been enough for the past 4 years. I can't have endless demos nor do I have $60 games loaded onto it, but for what I do have it has been sufficient
5 words cyguration: "We would like to play"
Nintendo needs to invest in their own console. Boost the online infrastructure, get more exclusive deals like they've done with Sega and Platinum, cut out the basic model, lower the price of the Delux by 50 and increase the Size by at least 26 MB, initiate an effective marketing blitz, get more WiiU's out for Demo in Retail, continue to demo new games like they did with Pikmin3 and post-E3, and continue to make great exclusive titles
Nintendo can't hold back. They...
Seeing how much easier the 360 was to develop than the PS3 while still getting $60 per game, I wouldn't expect games overall to get any cheaper, in all honesty. In the end Publishers decide whether or not to charge less.
The issue currently is Publishers have the precedent of charging $60 per game. Also with how overblown budgets are for AAA games most companies will probably charge $60 to make up for all of their expenses as a whole. This change has the biggest impact on...
I'm not here to fight, but to say that no one gave the Wii a chance, yet look how it ended up. It may or may not have won depending on your opinion, but after all the amazing first-party games I played on it I can say it wasn't a waste.
It's the AAA mentality. If a game doesn't pass the Focus Group it's not deemed profitable and either canned or chnged. TLoU didn't sell millions of copies or win countless awards because it was safe. It's popular because it's fresh, well made, and unique. If you brought a game like Metroid Prime to a lot of 3rd parties today they might say it's not FPS enough, that there isn't enough explosions, cinematics, or military installation to keep the general audience ...
