Yeah, that movie wad mind blowing. I was so amazed by it, it really got me interested in CGI.
Oh of course. We are already pretty close to the limit of rasterisation. There's a ton of work, and programming tricks implemented to make rasterisation look like it is today in some games.
When it comes to lighting/reflections/transpare ncy, rasterisation is very limited. With Ray-Tracing and ambient occlusion, your able to simulate light in game how it would act in real life. And all you have to do is define material and surface parameters for objects and the ray-tracer does t...
What parts were misleading? I didn't see anything really that was misleading. Most of the images they used were from real-time demos, and later on in the presentation they even did a live real time demo, changing settings on the fly in front of the crowd.
This was a very intriguing presentation.
Id like to see some tech demo's of this ray tracing system. It's good that Nvidia is actually pushing for Ray Tracing, it slaps all those people in the face who kept saying Nvidia was anti ray-tracing. Looks like they're on the forefront now :P.
Can't wait to play around with this system myself also. Should help very well with ray tracing my 3D scenes. It's a job much better done on a GPU than a CPU.
You totally missed the point. It's only safer because it's market share is lower. The more you and others promote the computers, the less safe it becomes.
It's not a safer system, it's just a less targeted system.....for now.
The iPhone isn't really just for people like that.
As a tech enthusiast, It's an awesome little piece of hardware. But I'm clamoring more for a Nvidia Tegra device. Now that's gonna be awesome.
It's an accurate term. It basically means people are fan of Apple tech in an almost religious way. Not looking at the facts/evidence, just having blind faith in something.
@Tony999Montana:
This story isn't about what MSNBC thinks. It's them talking with SECURITY EXPERTS. Those uber hackers at the yearly Black Hat security conference.
And I would much rather hope Apple computers died out. As they are a plague to the computing industry. They are a closed hardware/software system that Apple want's to regulate and profit on all to themselves. They are the very definition of "Totalitarian". It won't be a very open & free future if Apple becomes the leader.
While The Onion is a pretend news site, their News stories are still more credible than Fox news's.
Zing!
Try reading the full article first.. Even if they were actively patching their OS when exploits are found (which they aren't doing), that's hardly the main problem.
Yep. Guess you Mac users will just have to hope Apple's computer market share doesn't go up. hehe :P
It's because I used the embed video section to use HTML so I could add a note in bold text. When you enable the video section, it causes the stories image not to show.
But the image does show if your looking at the list of submissions. For example when your on the Tech page.
I don't think this is true. Nvidia wouldn't allow a gap that big between ATI's new card and their own. Both companies are usually on similar time frames.
Plus it was already rumored that Nvidia had already taped out it's first silicon way back in Feb-March. So I think this persons sources may not have gotten the whole story, and this is probably an A2 tape out. Meaning that the cards have a much greater chance of coming to retail a lot sooner than they estimate.
Lol that Logo at the end is SUCH a rip off of Wii.
This thing just looks like a less powerful and software capable Nvidia Tegra device. So meh.. I'll wait for some mainstream Nvidia Tegra touchscreen handhelds.
Because of the amount of performance hit implementing physics causes, developers have generally chosen to put that performance towards making the game look better, instead of on physics.
Bing's search results are pretty good. But what makes Bing awesome is it's porn searching abilities. Especially it's video search ones, allowing you to hover over and preview the porn clips :P.
I'm pretty happy here in Canada, BC. With my 15Mbit connection, that reaches speeds of over 2 megabytes a second if I use a download accelerator :P.
Keep on pushin forward Mozilla! I don't like the idea of Google taking over every part of the IT industry.
