They are talking about the 5700 series in this article. BSN tends to get a lot of spelling and punctual mistakes.
Using common sense, they were talking about the 5750 and 5770. Not 5870. Notice how the first line says "5750 and 5770"? Theo really needs to learn to proof read his post's when he's done.
I know for a fact that the HD 5870 is $249/259 or more. Because the 5850 PowerColor is giving away on Oct 5th was advertised as a $299 card. And all sources h...
lol no. The 5870 is almost $400. Read again.
Correction, November/Early December.
That's a ridiculous spot for buttons on the side there. I don't understand how people can like a mouse with such a configuration. A mouse get's gripped with varying degrees of pressure depending on the situation, pressing those keys accidental would be very easy. And also wouldn't be too comfy on your fingers.
I stick with my nice classic Microsoft lazer mouse. Right/Left click, Middle click and scroll wheel. Ftw.
Here's a good article on DDR3 to help you decide on what's best for your budget:

Core i7 920 is only $280 bucks, so that's great. And the LGA 1366 socket it uses is supposedly going to last quite a while, should be long enough until the day you want to upgrade again, maybe not, depends on how fast technology advances. But it is the best choice at the moment...
You guys didn't understand what I said at all.
You are complaining about there not being a controller. Then I remarked that there's no reason developer can't choose to have the user hold a remote a long with Natal also.
I wasn't implying that there was an actual special remote packaged with Natal. All I was saying is that your arguments are irrelevant, because a controller that the person already has can be used a long side Natal IF THEY WANT TOO!
Who said you can't hold a controller when using Natal?
Nobody.
Dev's can still have the person holding a controller, while utilizing Natal as they like.
Was the a serious comment?
If so, then you need to learn to do your own research man. Don't know what wacko you've been listening too, but the Xbox 360 does not support DX11 HAHA. The 360 supports DirectX 9. DX10 was still in the making when the 360 came out.
Cost's too much to dev for the PC, lol?
You realize that the Xbox 360 is basically a PC with a slightly different operating system. It has an ATI GPU that runs DirectX 9, just like a PC version. And a CPU to do other tasks.
Development cost's are no different. If anything it cost's more for consoles due to all the optimizations that have to be done to be able to utilize every bit of power and make a good looking game.
Developers have just been preferring...
DX11 is irrelevant to Nvidia wanting to get GT300 series out this year.
Here's why they would want to:
1.) ATI has a new generation coming out.
2.) Nvidia is going to be well past it's usually time frame for new generations if it takes them until next year to release it.
3.) Since CUDA and computing in general on the GPU is such a big deal to them, their biggest focus is on getting powerful cards out the door to high end consumers. To help p...
Uhh, you must not have been keeping up with GPU news lol.
PhysX has been integrated into the GPU since the 8000 series. But it's not actually PhysX that's integrated, but the ability to run PhysX on the GPU. Made possible with Nvidia's CUDA architecture that was implemented with the 8000 series and up. CUDA allows general purpose computing to be done on the GPU, including running the PhysX code. Nvidia ported the PhysX code to CUDA so it could run on the GPU's. And new types of a...
Go with the Core i7 920 then.
A cure for cancer, wishful thinking? Lol?
Trust me, as someone who is heavily into new medicine research and various areas of nature science, I know that we are actually quite close to cures for a lot of things. We are just now starting to develop the ability to manipulate genes, and create new life that can target and kill certain types of cells for us (i.e: cancer cells.). Or switch on genes in ourselves that will prevent cancers from forming. This same research will allow peop...
Wow that was ignorant. Firstly, your going to find people with a lot more skill on the PC. There's generally a lot more dedicated hardcore gamers than on consoles. And less whiny little kids, and idiots who just want to curse at you because they suck.
And yeah, it's easier to use a mouse to aim and a joystick. But that doesn't make it less of a challenge. Because everyone has the same advantage. It allows you too enjoy the game more because your not fiddling around with your joys...
Yes I own an ATI card.
Upgrade your computer for under $500 and play CryEngine 2 games if you want to so badly!
Yeah, I've never understood the concept of putting motion blur in a game. It's like the dev's never thought about how motion blur works in real life...
Motion blur happens to us whether were snowboarding, or playing a video game. If something on your screen moves fast, it's going to be blurry to your eyes.. That's motion blur. You don't need to emulate it in the game, it already happens lol.
Uhh.. This news got approved how? And 9.9 has been out for a while now.
Anyway, change log is nice. Version 10 is up next, which hopefully being a new number set will have some nice surprises. And will be out along with the 5000 series launch later this month, as current drivers don't have device id's for them.
Nope. Don't know where you read that, but it's not true. Even in synthetic shader test's which are designed to use all the shaders possible. Nvidia and ATI took very different approaches with their shaders. Plus Nvidia has to cram in it's CUDA architecture.

So the one PowerColor is giving away is most likely the 5850, as it's $299.
