They didn't make more because the PS Eye hardware sucked BAWLS. It would have cost a few thousand dollars for Sony to sell a system like Natal back in those days. Watch some demo's of the PS Eye importing a person into a game. The image quality is so degraded and big choppy corners around the person. The hardware just wasn't good enough at the time. And an RGB camera itself isn't good enough for tracking movement in 3D space. That's why Natal has a monochrome infrared sensor.

Yet another ignorant fanboy comment from THC Cell.

Sony did try this, but their hardware was to crappy, a long with the software. I remember way back like 6 or 7 years ago, sony was doing PS Eye demo's for facial and motion tracking. They had these big semi trailers going around the country to show it off.

But the cameras in the PS Eye were too poor of a resolution, and only did black and white. It was destined for failure.

Now with Natal, we have Infrared pinpoi...

How about you try thinking about how people will play the games with the Sony Motion Controller. Natal is no different, you just don't need a stupid ball on a stick to do things. And have a higher level of interactivity with the games, such as using your fingers.

@Sarcasm:

Huh? Natal can track in the dark just fine. It uses infrared light to track things. And shoots out it's own infrared to make sure.

@beardpapa: Yeah. Well I think the situation will be a bit different for Windows 7. Because it's basically Vista that's gone through a few years of bug testing now, with a bunch of performance tweaks/optimizations and the awesome new aero peek. So the bugs are pretty ironed out now. But yeah, if your just an average computer user who say just checks email and surfs the net, then there isn't a whole lot of reason to upgrade to Windows 7, except some increased security.

Nvidia's Optix is horrible compared to Chaos Groups V-Ray for GPU.

Oh yeah, cause Apple doesn't do ANYTHING like this right? Apple doesn't constantly show commercials bashing PC's. No, no way. Not your beloved Apple!

Yeah, but the thing is those computer illiterate people will be missing the things they like to use in Windows anyways. So it's a dilemma either way. If they can't stand not using IE, think how they'd stand using another browser and OS, lol. It's just annoying to see people bashing Windows 7, for no real reason other than the things caused by it's own success.

Use what OS fits your needs. For the majority of the world, due to Windows mass development support, it is Windows for them....

There's a lot of truth to this actually.

Linux isn't really anymore secure. And isn't exactly an average user friendly OS that would be good for mass market. As soon as it gains a big market share, hackers are going to be all over Linux users asses. Same goes for Mac's.

Fact of the matter is, Windows 7 is a great, efficient OS. With a ton of optimization for using different types of hardware efficiently, especially for gaming and production programs. It's constantly upd...

All they've done is making you have to zoom in now, instead of just clicking on a link or image <_<. Pretty lame.

Yeah, I wouldn't be getting an i7 system if I was just going to be using it for gaming. Not really worth the cash at this point since no games can really take advantage of it.

6012d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Haha, the only reason it wins sometimes in that small review is because the i7 is at it's low ass stock speed of 2.66ghz. While the Phenom is at 3ghz!.

The i7 is easily clocked to 4ghz, and even higher. And obliterates the phenom. Plus the extra bandwidth and memory speed makes non gaming related tasks go a lot faster also. Phenom can be clocked to around 3.7/3.8 on air.

http://www.overclock...

Yeah, don't bother with LGA 1566. LGA 1366 is projected to have a much longer life span than it. So your motherboard investment should last you a lot longer if you buy i7.

Intel really did good with i7 920. It's fairly priced, and overclocks like a beast to better performance than the $1000 option haha. Plus with triple freaking channel DDR3 RAM it's even more awesome.

Planning on getting myself EVGA's great LGA 1366 board that has 6 memory slots. So I can have 12GB'...

Yeah sorry, I'm stressed out these days. Starting college for 3D Modeling & Animation in a month, 2 year long course.. $36000 school fees, lol.

I had read this the other night:

And wasn't paying attention to the table descriptions for if lower/higher was better lol. Made it look like the higher the cas rating increased performance. Now l...

Umm, I think you might not have understood the results that well.

7-7-7-20 would be a horrible choice. What you want is the highest timings. A 9-9-9-24+ is still fairly priced and boosts performance way higher than 7/20.

The only thing I could think of that would be limiting in the use of VRAM would be that DX10 only supports up to 4K x 4K resolution textures. So you can't load higher res textures that would require even more space. DX11 bumps that limit up to 16k. Which is more than enough for the most highly detailed 3D modelers out there even lol.

Other than that, I can't see why DX10 would have any problem managing 2GB and up of ram. People with SLI setup's already play Crysis with up to 4Gig...

6018d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Where did you hear that DirectX 10 couldn't fully allocate resources on a 2GB or higher GPU? That would piss off a lot of people who have workstation GPU's, of which have 2GB and even higher of ram.

6018d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, I'd be willing to bet the upcoming DX11 cards will be able to finally max out Crysis at a smooth frame rate on a single GPU. Although you'll most likely need the 2GB version of the highest end single-GPU card to do so. As that high of a resolution and AA/AF levels needs a lot of graphics memory.

Were pretty close to maxing it with the current generation already, it's just that last bit of Anti-Aliasing that really packs a punch.

To put that number into perspective..

That's:
2,880,000,000,000 Floating point operations PER SECOND.

Just 10 years ago, the worlds fastest super computer, the Intel ASCI Red/9632, could do 2.3796 TFLOPS.

2,379,600,000,000 Floating point operations PER SECOND.

It had 9298 Pentium II OverDrive processors, each clocked at 333 MHz.

http://en.wi...

Yeah. Launch prices are always high. Give it a month or 2 and it will be $50-$100 cheaper lol.

I'm excited to get one due to the possibilities tessellation and computer shaders bring in DX11. Plus the increased GPU/CPU communication and multi-core CPU performance improvements. DX11 is a great update. Instead of focusing on just creating new tools, this update is mainly about increasing performance, through the things I just mentioned. Plus Shader Model 5.
