@Cwalat: Because console games use a ton of loopholes to make it look like they have amazing graphics. Such as very low Anti-Aliasing, if any. Only 1080p resolution and not even always that. Very low draw distance. And I watched the trailer for Uncharted 2. They only put good textures on the stuff they think you'll pay attention too, but I paid attention to everything, and lots of stuff was very basic geometry with horrible low resolution textures, such as the freight train he was riding on. ...

Uhh.. the PS3 isn't pushing graphics in the industry. For a console sure, but not the gaming industry as a whole.

Awesome. Wish Canada would follow suite. The internet infrastructure should be treated like other public services, such as roads and electricity lines.

Yes it's safe to run on Vista/7.

But then you'd have to reinstall your applications again. And backup your files before hand if they aren't all on a separate drive. That's way to much of a hassle. Not to mention the time that install takes.

Nope. The logic is sound. Sure pirating itself might hurt someones sales. But were not talking about pirating in general, just this situation, in which it doesn't matter.

Wow, there are some ignorant fanboy's on this site. You kids need to grow up and stop spewing crap just because mommy won't buy you a new computer.

@Tarasque:
ASRock is a subsidiary of ASUS. That markets towards low budget users. Their products are good quality. The HEC power supply is also more than good enough. And the rest of the computer is all high quality hardware.

This is about building a budget gaming computer, not a premium top of the line super perfect high...

You've obviously never taken a serious play of Trackmania then Aloren.

And isn't that the point of racing games? Trying to beat your opponent? Hence the name RACEing... It's a freaking RACE!

And in Trackmania 2, they will be allowing you to use your own 3D models as blocks in the track editor. So they are pretty much providing a game engine for people to freely develop tracks as they like. No longer just changing the textures and creating mania animations. A persons creati...

Hardly. Most developers wish for more power so that their dreams can be fully envisioned without compromises here and there.

Yeah I know eh. If you showed that to a random person, they would think it's some photoshoot of a real person.

The story title is a bit misleading. There's nothing amazing about the GPU in the iPhone, it can't RUN Crysis. What it can do, is play video of the game streamed to the iPhone, and allows you to send commands to the server the game is running on to play the game.

Any phone/pmp with 3G internet and the right software to communicate with the servers can do the exact same thing.

Dammit, sent for approval just before I was about too XD.

Here's a video of the new Ruby in action rendered in real-time in LightStage using ray-tracing in front of an audience.

Yeah, paper launch is in all likelihood going to happen sometime in November. Then actual availability in December, before Christmas. Signing the contracts to start full scale production in October gives enough time for actual products to be out by December. Hopefully TSMC doesn't experience anymore problems. Or i'ma feel really sorry for Nvidia.

Nvidia really is shaving it close this year. But delays happen when you completely redesign your chips (If that turns out to be true.) ...

Sure the Microsoft mouses might feel cheap because their so light and simple. But in reality they are highly reliable. I wouldn't be able to stand working in Photoshop/ZBrush/Maya using a mouse that had buttons on the side or in the direct path of where my fingers grip onto the mouse. These Microsoft laser mouses have all I need, have more than enough DPI, and because they are minimalistic in design, there's not really anything that can break on it. So they can easily last you for ages. Mines...

@beardpanda: Huh? Are you sure you've seen the USB 3.0 plug? It looks the same on the outside, and is only a bit different on the inside.

USB 3.0 cables can be plugged into USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 plugs, and work. Hence being backwards compatible. There's nothing foreign about it, it looks the same, there's just more connection spots inside the plug and cable for increase throughput.

And there's supposedly some 1GB/s and up ones coming later this year, if not next year. That's why they are moving towards using the PCI-E slots. A PCI-E x8 2.0 slot can support 4GB/s, X16 8GB/s. And when PCI-E 3.0 comes out in 2010, that limit is getting doubled.

@tmt353: That's impossible though.. Your still restricted to the physical limitations of the 800 port. You can only benefit from an upgraded port combined with the new cable, or else you don't have the physical changes that are needed to increase throughput. It makes no sense.

How the hell does it win on compatibility with previous versions? USB has maintained compatibility also.
