Very nice design. Like the thought that went into this.

1. Android is open and malleable by OEM's.

2. Current PS3 OS is already a custom IBM linux/java variant so Android would make sense in some ways if this is true.

3. Opens up even more apps and content to blunt Apples closed door policies.

4. What you said. Both Apple and MS.

5. Part of the stampede to Android is OEMS being free of MS dictatorial terms and lack of flexibility. And Apples in some ways worse policies. Make...

Just like DVD's when they launched.

For such a huge list and such a head start you would think it would have taken off by now.

PC guys just don't get it.

Joe six pack doesn't care about PC's on their HDTV's. They just don't.

But of course the PS3 haters don't seem to realize the stereoscopic 3D being heavily marketed by Sony will benefit the PC market as well. The 3D TV's being heavily marketed will potentially increase the number of PC's hook...

Agree a lot with what both of you say.

@SOAD.

The only flaw in your argument is that information isn't necessarily directed at you. There are people that get just as sucked into the misinformation being spread by 360 fanboys in those threads as well. They should know the facts from the disinformation.

If someone for example is thinking about a 360 or getting Live. Don't you think they should know it's not just $50/year if they hav...

Kind of reminiscent of Blu-ray. But for an optional feature.

Trolls, haters and paid shills is the only reasonable explanation. Like I said reminiscent of Blu-ray.

That's the cheap anaglyph for you. It's why it never caught on.

It's the solution you will see from multi-platform titles because HDMI 1.2 found in the 360 doesn't support the HDMI 1.4 spec for stereoscopic 3D used by PC's and the PS3.

The only way the 360 can support it is if the developers write in special support for every TV on the market like Avatar had to do. And they didn't so there was just a subset of TV's on the market it...

5-6 billion in the hole on Xbox and pretty much went from front to last in mobile space. Zune went nowhere. iPad released.

Pushed with both hands and a double kung-fu kick in the pants by Ballmer. Who will make it even worse.

“There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance. It’s a $500 subsidized item. They may make a lot of money. But if you actually take a look at the 1.3 billion phones that get sold, I’d prefer t...

The full quote.

“It’s always a trade-off between how crisp you want things to look and how much you want going on on-screen.

We feel that with our cinematic feel, with lots of particles and graphical filters and motion blur which we put on top of each other, that works best in 720p. We’re aiming for 30fps, both for 3D and standard. 3D is obviously a little bit of an overhead, because you have to render twice.”

Works best in 720p. We are aimin...

Oh they all knew it back then.

Just like the knew about the RROD while urging you to buy a 360.

$$ and threat of lawsuits kept them in line at your expense.

If it's from that site and it's about the PS3 you know it's pretty much being spun as a lie.

Have any specifics on the poor UI. Moving to the UK shortly and it along with Android stuff was on the list of possibles.

Use this to stream my music off the PS3 all the time. For a couple of years now.

And everyone is going gaga over Android adding streaming to your home media instead of having to sync your devices ala iTunes. Shrug.

Yeah sorry about that. I obviously meant 1080p@30fps.

I had been reading some other articles/threads that were about 1080p@60fps and had a brain fart when I came back. Might have done it somewhere else as well. Thanks for catching it.

They realize just how big a bunch of tools the site editors have been for the last 4 years?

Nope.

720p@30fps per eye.

"We're aiming for 30fps, both for 3D and standard."

5760d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's now clear why they didn't build the engine in 1080p@60fps in the beginning.

3D was always on the table. I wouldn't be surprised if GOW3 gets an upgrade down the road.

720p@30fps per eye is about 10% less pixel pushing power than 1080p@60fps.

They could have done the 1080p thing but would have had to drop stereoscopic 3D and rely on anaglyph or the "upscaling" 2D to 3D some TV's will be able to apply. Not the s...

No Edge is not trustworthy. They may as well rename themselves to the MS PR dept. It's very possible it's a trial balloon or intended to misdirect the competition.

"How much will 4 Wii Mote ripped off and 4 nunchuck cost for the move? "

Not as much as the new house your going to need to fit 4 people doing kung-fu kicks in your living room. Eye or Natal or Wii. Seriously. It's a ridiculous scenario for 99% of the people in the world. 2 wi...

It makes perfect sense to me.

Make it soooo expensive that buying a console and the camera makes the most "sense". You would be stupid to just buy the camera.

They will put out the arcade+natal bundle for $299. Even current hardcore owners would go that route because they KNOW their 360 is going to die anyway and will have a backup ready.

Average consumer will realize when they get home they really did need a HDD after all because...

Have several hundred blu-rays (movies and games) starting in 2006. Everyone is spotless because of the coating.

DVD and CD's are scratched beyond repair.

That's progress. It wasn't just bigger but more consumer friendly. Can buy used movies and games with total confidence on Blu-ray as well.
