More like 2000 but keep lying to everyone.
Still its half the price of a PC gaming rig that cost $4000
http://www.dell.com/us/en/h...
That does marginally more than a $299 console. Hmm 4000 or 299. Geez how surprising PC industry is going way of dodo bird.
Funny how a guy that goes on ...
"how much if you wanna play move with a few friends Blacktric? Say, 4 friends?"
They bring their own. Just like they do with their DS when we play 7 people in NHL.
Because you know the PS3 supports party gaming like that and the 360 doesn't.
Warhawk was the exception. I was the same way until this game
"Doesn't matter that you pay it once a year, it's inexpensive either way."
Nope.
It would have cost us $250/year or $1250 since launch. Hardly inexpensive. So it does matter. On how many people are in your home. That's 4 consoles at current prices or 20 games.
For singles yeah it's not much.
They initially claimed they only needed a 90-day warranty at launch because it was all based on proven technology (DVD, 5.1 lossy sound, component output. IOW last gen technology) and was very reliable. It sufficed. Joke's on you mr consumer. Ha Ha.
Now we know the truth why it was so short.
However they "claimed" the PS3 with all that new tech was a concern and therefore needed that extra 1-year warranty. These guys are like a comedy act.
These guys are more likely to get active shutter 3D contacts before glassless 3D TV's. Of course then they will complain about those even though they won't have tried either.
@Newtype is right.
Panasonic is currently the best. Actually plasma is better than LCD because you can lie down and the 3D effect persists. With LCD's if you turn your head 90 degrees like you do when lying down it's lost.
"ability to record video gameplay".
Already there in the SDK. It's up to developers to turn it on etc.
I assume the new video editor is an incentive to get more of them to do so. Now that people can create custom videos easily and upload it means the viral marketing of their products would increase for free.
I think some of the mini games should also be usable on PSP. We have several so that bumps up the value of plus for us a...
"have a completely non necessary browser. "
Only to those that like paying for all of their content. And are disallowed from using their console as their actual media center. Just so MS can force them to buy a Windows license. To them a browser would be unnecessary. To everyone else the freedom of choice is priceless.
Funny how access to that silly thing the internet is unnecessary just because the 360 wants you to pay for everything. And your call...
Witty stuff.
Coming July 1, 2010
http://blog.us.playstation....
Well it's not like they DON"T have a better track record on that front. How about it's based on reasonable thought processes rather than the MS fanboys trying to pretend it's something else.
HDMI?
Blu-ray vs DVD
Lossless sound vs lossy sound?
RROD?
PS3 has done 6-way video chat for a long time now. Old news.
How about lossless audio?
How about 3D standard used by PC industry and the rest of the CE industry?
So yes 1080p is possible over component cables but not much else related to moving technology forward.
"I'm really disappointed if these specifications are correct. I expected a lot more out of this technology."
Have to agree. It would explain some of the lag. By comparison
PlayStation Eye
640 x 480 pixels at 60fps
320 x 240 at 120 fps
56 (upper body) or 75 degree (full body) field of view
4-microphone array.
16-bit audio with a signal-to-noise ratio of 90dB.
$30
Yeah but if u don't pay then that $60 game is only half a game without multiplayer. shafted either way.
“One thing I have to do, and it's my job, and my development team's job, and my marketing team's job, is make you not want to trade the game in.”
Understandable. Fair.
Implementation is not.
You won't be when you find out that the unrestricted access you previously had on all the consoles in your home is no longer the case. For a game you bought new for $60. It's now crippleware.
If you only have one console you won't care but for those of us that have several consoles and kids it's a different story. The game would end up costing us a $100 to give everyone their own on-line access like we have now.
EA just lost me as a customer ...
Still running a launch PS3. Whole family uses for gaming, music and it was running Folding@Home for over a year when not doing the aforementioned.
None of the batteries in our controllers have died although I have broken a thumbstick. The official PS3 headset is just pure quality on the sound front. Hate the mini-mini-charger cable.
So some people do make good things. Just not MS. At least this generation. Our xbox lasted around 3 years before it start getti...
"why do people always say that."
Because they all have 30ft x 30ft living rooms they are going to need for 4 people? /s
"It's a very legitimate thing to bring up, mah man."
Unless it's Live. Then you all live on your own and have no family/roommates.
Live @ 4 x 50/year + 150 makes it $350 initial year and another $200 every year after that. Oh wait cross-game voice chat isn't all that great aft...
They were fired about a month ago. Robbie Bach . Head of entertainment division. Oops sorry he "retired". It was all just a coincidence on the timing.
