@ stuna, that's not the way game sales work. What you pay at the register (or online) goes to the store, not the publisher. Plus, the tax goes to your state and local government. Also, the stores buy the games from the publishers for less than $60, that way they can make a profit.
Lol, I like your excitement. This conference came out of nowhere. Conference is in <30 minutes! 1:20 Pacific, 4:20 Eastern.
I agree, but conferences only last a couple hours. The reveal on the 22nd was necessary to not take away time from E3. Sony has Vita, PS3, PSN and now Gakai and PS4 to cover. It's going to happen that specifics get left out. Too little time, too much info. Besides that, the release of PS4 is months away, I'm sure there are a lot of details to iron out with IP owners, publishers, etc before games can be streamed from Gakai. Many IPs aren't Sony's to do with whatever they want, ...
Sony "moneyhatted" just as much and got many 3rd party games that were the definitive version. MK with exclusive character, Batman with exclusive maps, Bioshock with better graphics, ME 2 with all content and extras included, etc, etc. But yeah, lets continue to pretend that the 360 is the go to system for multiplats.
Your comment is exactly why people don't like pc gamers such as yourself Muffins.
Ot, I would really like if every game would be 60 fps, but 30 fps LOCKED IN would be acceptable. If we get the kind of framerate crashes like in Fallout this coming gen there will be some hell to pay.
Speaking of Fallout, I hope Fallout 4 is announced at this years E3.
Too much THC not enough CELLS methinks...
And what will happen if the Nextbox is on par or worse than the PS4? Also, the Move is doing fine, it's keeping it's place as an addon peripheral and not as a main attraction to the console. You should know by now that Sony caters to ALL it's fanbase, not just the casual crowd or the core, but EVERYONE. It would be sad if Sony just made GOW, Uncharted and GT over and over and the only other games were Move titles. But alas, it's not that way, and they don't add Move suppor...
I call fake. 11.11.13 is a Monday, COD games always release on Tuesdays, so it would be 11.12.13
@Funk, there's nothing "elite" about those snobs, they're just snobs.
I'm also interested where Activision is going to take COD, especially with the potential heavy hitter Destiny coming soon. Destiny may impact the COD franchise sales. If I had my way, I'd have a COD title one year and a Destiny the next. Phase out Modern Warfare and let Treyarch take full control of the franchise.
MS actually have a lot of studios, but I think most of them work on Kinect related software.
It has nothing to do with paying extra money. Some of us like myself don't facebook, don't tweet, don't make youtube videos and don't really care for online play. I can't tell you how annoying it is to watch netflix or to be immersed in a game only to see that so and so just logged in or out.
Not everyone is a social butterfly.
Btw, my internet connection is awesome with no data cap.
One thing I did notice was that Sony seems to have lost a partnership with Youtube. There was no mention of Youtube and they didn't have an icon when Sony was showing all of it's business partners for the PS4.
I guess MS took care of that, so we should expect similar upload and share features from MS.
Wii killed PS3 lol what? PS3 is currently outselling every other console available INCLUDING the Wii AND Wiiu.
Not going to matter much. If the PS4 and Nextbox release this holiday then they will probably drop the prices of the PS3 and 360 so low below any possible Wiiu price that Christmas present buying moms and dads will get those over the Wiiu. It won't be until next year or the year after that the Wiiu will be the most affordable platform.
@ torchic, the Wiiu was like that as well. I don't really care though, the actual console doesn't NEED to be shown yet as long as we know the specs and see the new controller which was shown today.
Unfortunately I'll be working while the event is going on. I hope it gets posted on youtube or somewhere else where I can watch a replay of it.
So Schwarzenegger and Chan huh? Not only are they bad actors but I don't think they give a crap about gaming. Let's keep these celebrities who are fake/casual gamers as far away from any gaming related event as we can.
Edit: ot, it should be Kaz, this man has been making all the right decisions the past few years and is doing a good job if steering Sony in the right direction.
Those sly dogs, buttering up everyone for tomorrow. This is cool as hell though, it almost makes me feel like Sony is doing this as a goodbye to the PS3 era and hello to the PS4 era. The internet is going to explode tomorrow, literally! I can see many sites going down from traffic. I hope N4G stays up so I can get my news.
"Orbis is also following the path first set by Xbox Live: our source says "most" of the PS4's online features will require a premium subscription to use."
I hope this isn't true.
2 things I find contradictory:
1. If what took months to do previously now takes days, why would dev costs rise and games cost more?
2. Consumers love microtransactions...wtf?!?
