Terrible comparison mcstorm. PS3 got some ports from 360, which was the same generation. Wiiu is supposed to be"next gen" and should be getting games not possible on PS360. That would be the same as if the first few months of the PS3 was all PS2 ports. Or if the first few months of the PS4/Nextbox were all PS360 ports.
The deaths in this game really surprised me, I never expected them to be as cool and gruesome as they were.

I picked up Ascension today, it's really not a good game, at least an hour in so far. The other GOW games were all amazing, but this one feels shallow, hollow and boring.
The graphics and sound are all AAA but everything else is weak. SSM dropped the ball on this one big time. I'm not sure if Sony forced them to make this game, but it feels that way. So far it's a 6.5/10 for me and I'm finding it hard to recommend this game to any GOW fan.

I agree, this TR is really good (I'm about 3/4 done) but it seems like the platforming and puzzles are a backseat to the action. The puzzles I have encountered are in the secret tombs and are not necessary to advance in the game. As the 1st outing in this franchise reboot it's a great game, if they can improve on the weaknesses the next TR should be even better.
Tbh, I'm a HUGE GOW fan, but there was no need for another GOW game, prequel or not. They should have let the series end with GOW 3 and move on to another mythological setting. That being said, I can't wait to play Ascension, but please SSM, let Kratos rest.
Yup, R* has maintained their integrity of their franchises, eventhough GTA IV wasn't the best at least they tried and it showed. I'm patiently waiting for a RDR sequel, and I know it'll be worth the wait.

Not sure about that. I think more parents buy their kids Nintendo products because of reputation and nostalgia more than the kids are actually asking for them. Between my son, nephews, nieces, their friends, and my friends kids all of them would rather play on a PS3, 360 or even tablets before Nintendo products. I asked my 7th grader if people were taking about the Wiiu and the general consensus was it's "lame".
It wasn't Nintendo fans, it was gaming fans who made those series popular. I've always went with the system that had the most games that appeal to me. Those titles you mention are 3rd party games, and when the 3rd parties moved away from Nintendo, I moved with them, just like so many others. So again, it's gaming fans, not Nintendo fans that made those series what they are. Brand loyalty can kiss my ass.

Did you ever play DAH Path of Furon for PS3/360? The first two were among my favorite games in the PS2 era as well, but I haven't gotten around to the 3rd. It was never sold in US stores, but Amazon sells it. It's on my short list of games to play before I say goodbye to this gen of gaming.

I've always thought GOW games have a lot of replay value, especially with the multiplayer in Ascension. I'd go with GOW, but that's just me, I plan on playing both, but buying GOW.
They also fudged up by not bringing it to the PS3. Why a company that is in a bad financial situation would not make a game for all platforms possible is beyond me, then again, their poor business decisions is why they are not in business anymore.
