Yeah, we don't know everything and they did say that though it looks like its on-rails, u can actually go anywhere at anytime and it will play out differently. But, what gamers don't like is that every single fight has prompts. Supposedly they aren't qte's b/c u can skip them but no one is gonna do that. I really do hope it is just the initial aspect of a much more evolved and complex combat system. I think though that they shoulda known how it was gonna b perceived.
This is astonishing! It got me thinking now that I have played it twice and absolutely love it. No. Just sales r down in general and this game is walking a genre hybrid line with the ability to piss off xcom fans. Also, in like 4 weeks, begins the craziest, most competitive 4 months that we hav seen in yrs.
That being said, I like it a lot. I think they should play up the mass effect comparisons, along with xcom.

It does look pretty good. But after all that work, they decided to use two squad members, tactical 3rd person in which main character can slow time with a radial menu and issue cool down commands. Sound familiar? Oh yeah, its exactly what mass effect does. Good thing b/c I love it. The multiplayer was highly underrated. And its the perfect system for a 3rd person xcom game. I just can't imagine that anyone didn't mention this idea earlier and it just happened to end up this way.
The irony is that this could have been written this week about another game called the last of us. I don't know the story, so maybe not that. But...everything else.

This is an odd article because things happen all the time that we don't like. And rarely are we able to do anything about it. MS wouldn't do this if they didn't think they could. Look at their online fees, dlc, apple and google's spying etc. They are looking for ways to secure future tech and as it was well put above, ppl love xbox and if they have games and entertainment and the price is right, it will sell.

I think there are a lot of gamers that would play a good mmo on a console. This could do well. It looks awesome. I have been following it closely and I may give it a try. My biggest fear is that I have a highly addictive personality and I don't want to get too hooked.
Agree. Once the market is dead both sony and MS will be able to go the route of Steam. They can offer deals etc...and they will make more money. The ps3 once allowed 5 ppl to play one game. Maybe reinstating something like that will appease gamers because it could b even cheaper than buying used.
MS did what they had to...just disnt announce it right. MS's first priority is its OS and the its future. They know the future isn't desktop PCs so they must get out ahead of it. Luckily for them Google and Apple have basically failed at getting ahold of the livingroom market. MS has a huge unstall base with the xb ox and must go the direction they r going.

Its funny that these ppl are professionals. I am not a professional but I would have begun with CoD. Then teasers for 4 or 5 games promising reveal at E3. Then unviel the box itself and what it does. Tell everyone about online and achievements quickly and close with battlefield and halo 5. Nuff said.

This is why I don't understand all the arguing. Prices drop and ppl may choose an initial console but many gamers eventually buy both. As far as PC gaming, many gamers have one also. And the next gen of consoles will also benefit PC gamers because despite the better graphics this gen etc. it is always the new console hardware that sparks a revolution in actual gameplay. Games will be better on PC simply because next gen consoles exist. Its a much bigger base or atleast has the potent...

I am just a little worried that it devolves into something similar to this gen. Sony has more powerful machine and xbox puts a lot into its online and social capabilities (yes, I know ps4 is too but I think xbox will be dressed up a bit nicer with a ton of enetertainment features and gimmicks). K3 was a great multiplayer but I do hope that next gen brings back the open platform nature of K2. Mercs looks amazing. The only annoying thing is that woman's voice every 5 sec. Gotta change it. But it definitely proves that there is hope for mobile online fps.
