Sorry, I couldn't resist with the picture given the nature of the article lol.
All joking aside, I do agree with the point being made in the article.
I'm usually not an MMO type of person, but I really can't wait to get my hands on this game and try it out.
xabmol and god_o_war nailed it. It only stops background downloads if the game has online functions, so as not to interfere with the network part of gaming (ie causing lag).
It will also pause downloads if you go to watch movies on disc, Blu-ray or DVD (@thatruth, by blu-ray disc they're just referring to blu-ray movies). Why it does this I'm not sure, though it wouldn't surprise me if the ps3 boots into some other processes or something to go into movie mode. Not sure. Downloading has...
This was actually a really really good review here. Pretty much spot on I thought for the most part. I was hesitant when I saw "steal it for 360?", though i realize it's an xbox site and it's just they're lil gimmick for rating a PS3 game. Very good unbiased review though.
I don't have that much use for portable gaming to buy even the PSP GO! Nor do I ever pay ungodly prices for phones like this, so won't be getting it either. I always get just the free phone that comes with contract renewal lol. All I need it to do it make calls. Though will say, if they market and push it right, this could rival iphone
Agreed cmrbe. I read that too about the ps2 still being the most played. And doesn't surprise me at all. Using my friends and people as I know as a small "test group" (which I know is very small and not that accurate), but it plays into these findings very accurately. They're all pretty much still playing the ps2. And while some are still waiting for games/franchises to hit the platform too, the biggest reason is the price. That ps2 customer base is waiting for that price to make th...
Nah. Most ps2 owners just aren't as hardcore gamers as most of us. Thus they're not going to buy a $400/500 system. They're not paying that much for entertainment and a casual hobby. But they still want it, just for now the ps2 will do (since it's still being supported) until the ps3 price drops. I can't tell you how many people I know that are in that boat.
I think you miss the point. The title says (so far), though somebody forgot to put that on here. The point is when it comes to the end of the year, all these games are going to be passed over and forgotten for the games that come out the last few months of the year. Which isn't right. And dude here just wants to point out that these games should be remembered and put in contention at the end of the year.
Totally agree. I want VC2 as well. I HOPE they make a sequel. I think I have to agree with you that this might be my second favorite game this generation, right behind Uncharted. Just the thought of a sequel excites me. I was late to buy Valkyria Chronicles, but if a sequel comes I'll be there day one for it.
Agreed, this game is awesome. I love it. I'll be getting this DLC when it comes out as long as they don't overcharge and it has more than like one level to it.
No chance for what? I mean everything in there was already confirmed by Sony Ericsson themselves. It will be a phone, it will play playstation games and it will be out this fall.
I really just do not see backwards compatibility being that much of a seller. I've yet to play a single past generation game since i got my PS3. And if I wanted to, I'd just drag out the ps2 that I still have. I never understood why backwards compatibility was made such a big deal (more than it needs to be).
Honestly, the reason all those ps2 gamers haven't made the jump? Because of the price. I know LOTS of people that all say the same thing. They still have a ps2 (with the exc...
Is it just me or is this just crazy? This is twice in as many days that Play.com has been questioned on validity of release dates they have and twice that they've said the same thing (I wouldn't expect them to say they're wrong). I don't believe this stuff from them, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say it is true. Then in that case I ask one thing: Why in the world are all these developers (Rockstar/Polyphony) contacting Play.com of all places, yet telling NOONE else? Just do...
I don't think he was making excuses there Dark. He merely said that what Kotick most likely meant by cutting Sony off meant for future titles. Being as how Kotick did say "we might have to cut Sony off sometime down the road" (paraphrasing there of course). Of course I wouldn't expect the guy to cut off a game mid-production (more like near the end of it) because he's not making enough profit. He'd go ahead and cash it what he has to get that final money from the platform then just ...
@baodeus
Agreed. I've been screaming this and trying to illustrate this point from the start. And they do make a profit off PS3 and other playstation products. A Huge amount of money. There is no way in the world they would cut Sony loose. If he did, Kotick's head would be on a stake in a matter of days. The board and the stockholders would have NO part of something like that. It never makes sense to get rid of a source of income, just because you wish that source was making even...
Just one thing: the article said that the big thing was MS announcing DLC for GTA, not the actual game. So he was right. Though I do disagree 'cause I think MS biggest announcement last year was a stolen exclusive called FF XIII. And I have to disagree with you too that MGS wasn't their biggest announcement this year. Well ok I guess Natal contends with it, but let's stick to GAME announcements here. And Halo Reach sure as sh*t didn't contend with the MGS announcement.
I also do...
Wow, I'm going to have to bubble you for actually bringing an intelligible counterargument instead of some fanboy "You're wrong, Sony sucks!" comment like others might have.
Now, that is in interesting take what you wrote there, and I guess on some levels they were valid points, however, for me, it doesn't truly hold water when broken down. I'll give it to you that yes, some PS3s were bought just as blu-ray players. However, now that you can get a stand alone for much c...
Lighten up Murderdoll. It's all a joke. Surely you know you're about as much a fanboy as anybody here and can at least joke about it.
By the way, that's why I put "exclusives" (notice the quotation marks), because those games also come to PC. Though it is a lil funny now to see a xbox fanboy NOW claim those aren't exclusives when all the time they're considered the 360's exclusives. But now that it's convenient and befitting for you that they're not, out it comes. So d...
I like how you named pure Xbox360 "exclusives" lol
(^well minus one obvious game like the other dude's list you criticized)
What a joke.
lol See what I did there? Now THAT is a joke. lol

@Prototype
Sadly enough I've heard that from so many people it's not even funny. "I'd buy it if it had trophies." "I'm going to wait to see if they patch trophies before considering buying it." This has actually came up several times when I talked to some people about Valkyria Chronicles. It's sad really, missing out on one of the greatest games this generations just 'cause there's no trophies to show off after you're done.
I also think this has ...
