I hope to god that is a joke. Are you serious? It would be more logical to blame your tv for not shape-shifting in order to prevent that (though i guess in a sense they do if you want to cut off half the picture). Letterbox has nothing to do with what medium it's on, whether it be blu-ray, dvd, vhs, or laser disc. People truly astound me sometimes. I hope for your sake you're joking MC.

@TonyP
I will agree that a movie is a movie to an extent. If the script and everything are bad, then no amount of crispness is going to save it. However when watching movies, the advantages the Blu-ray brings do have an impact. The crispness and detail of an image just make it all that much better and immersive, not to mention the better surround sound that blu-ray makes possible (which people always seem to overlook, concentrating only on the video advantages).

I actually had no real problems with this game as far as what it was. Granted there were some bugs and whatnot to overcome at first, but the game is actually really fun. I love some SOCOM. Actually got me wanting to pop it in again, been a while. My biggest disappointment with this game, was there was no single-player campaign. THAT is what let alot of SOCOM fans down. SOCOM was always about the campaign first. Then once that's run it's course, just online with it for some fun. But for what i...

Y'all think it appears sad and pathetic from the outside? Hell, it appears that way from the inside (I'm American). I mean seriously, some of the things I've heard people suing and winning over is ridiculous. Just a few:
1.) Lady sues and wins suit against McDonalds because..surprise...hot coffee is actually hot.
2.)Man buys an RV, puts it on cruise control while driving, goes to the back to make himself some coffee WITH NOBODY DRIVING (just cruise control on), he wrecks, sues, an...

I would also like to try Call of Juarez. I am curious to see which one turns out best, from what I've seen though Red Dead just looks more appealing to me. But I'd definitely like a demo for Call of Juarez to check it out. I've been wanting a good wild west game lately. Especially since I've heard about these two games.

As for Fallout 3 DLC: too little too late. I gave up on that stuff already. Loved the game, had fun completing it and even got the platinum. But I'm done with it...

I agree GWave. This was just totally overlooked. Granted it shouldn't have gotten some "OMG This won the entire show on this alone" type hype. But it definitely should have got some hype and it was a huge announcement. I still want to see more before I'm totally dedicated to it, but I know it's in good hands, and if i HAD to take a blind leap of faith, I'd do it.

BTW Rising and Reach are, in fact, no different. The argument that they skate on name alone doesn't hold wa...

I have to agree with the ones that say they need to see at least a trailer with some semblance of what the game is about in order to truly get hyped about it. But on that note, I am hyped for it (just not overly hyped cause i don't want to blow my load early lol), and I know it's definitely in good hands with R* North. No doubt about that. I think it will turn out real good. Want to see though.

Agreed whoopi. The detail and everything of that creature is just dumbfounding. That has to be one of the best (if not THE best) character models I have ever seen. Just amazing. I'm even more in awe now that I'm finding out Ico's history of no CGI. I can't wait to get ahold of this game.

What I want to know (and I apologize if I've just missed this mentioned somewhere), but is the co-op local or online? I really don't like how so many games these days are abandoning local multiplayer (especially racing games). And usually the excuse is always the same that I hear: "Oh it would effects graphics too much" or something to that effect. Really shows what graphics-whores we've become. I'd much rather have that fun local multiplayer than have to sacrifice gameplay so we ca...

Is that true that Ico only uses real time cutscenes (like say uncharted)? I've never played either of the other two games. If so though, and this is an example of that, then this game will look even better than I imagined. I mean the art direction is amazing looking and absolutely beautiful. I knew that was going to remain the same when the game hits, however I figured (like most) the cutscene was pre-rendered and that the graphics would take a hit when actual gameplay was shown. If all that'...

@xbox avatar shoe
I've had the browser hang up on me a couple times, but it's been because of my impatience really. Here's a tip: let a page completely load (ie that lil circle thing quits) before you try moving back or to a new page or anything. Ever since I started doing that I haven't had any problems with it.

@darkride
I also haven't had any freezing problems with any games but Fallout 3. That's the only one I can remember ever freezing my system, and it did do it...

Ok, I'll use my last comment here. The funny thing here is this guy gets nothing but agrees, when essentially he said the exact same thing I said that everybody is claiming me to be a fanboy or troll or just plain out of my mind for saying. You're right, it does stick at a fairly stable 4-5mpbs. That's the problem though. Just because something is 1080p doesn't make it TRUE hd quality. I'll give it to it, this does look good, and no buffering at all. But now go watch a blu-ray or hd-dvd. The ...

Last comment. Here, will this make it easier for you whining fanboys to digest and make it easier on you, not hurting your feelings so much?....The fault here isn't with Microsoft. No, not at all. There's nothing they can do about it. It's just a bottleneck that comes from the American connection speed. So if anyone prevents true hd 1080p streaming (at correct bitrates, with no compression, etc) it's the ISPs. MS could be the greatest software developers in the world, but they just can't acco...

Actually you're right there, I was wrong. The average American internet connection speed is 5mbps, not 4mbps. My bad. You getting 8mbps is not average. Hell I get 7-8mbps, that doesn't make it the average, dumbass. We're serious gamers, hence usually most of us are going to be above the average. Even still, that point is to get TRUE hi-def, you're going to need more like in the 40mbps range in order to obtain that with proper bitrates and no framerate drops and still get 1080p resolution. It'...

@really duh
Yes, I have a PS3 and only a PS3. What does that have to do with anything? I think that just points out who is the real fanboy here. All I'm giving is facts. Average American connection speed: 4mpbs. MS biggest territory: US. Bitrate for TRUE hi-def 1080p video: upwards of 40mbps--thus 5mpbs is some serious compression. And it won't even stay at that, it drops below those gimped specs half the time.

@tplarkin
I do have comcast. I get 7mbps. Your 22mbps wou...

I think this is all PR hype. I'll believe it when I see it. I just don't see them actually streaming 1080p. Especially since a majority of their customer base is in the US. In the US the average internet speed is like 4mbps, which is still lower than the overly compressed 5mbps they're shooting for. So most people won't even be able to use this in MS's biggest territory. Not to mention, 5mbps? Sure it might technically be 1080p, but at the kind of compression it might as well be no more than ...

@armo and blaze
I can't be certain, but I'd assume this demo is actually going to be the real demo and will be different. As far as I know the one you played at target was just a combat demonstration, not so much a demo of the game. At least that's what I played at Walmart.

@Xabmol
Agreed. I remember that when I was a kid too. Going to the store and as soon as I walk in me and my brother tell mom we'd be in the electronics. And off we'd go to go hit up the lil game se...

lol 307 disagrees. That's hilarious. I think at this point people are just tacking on disagrees just for the fun of it. It's become a game now. I know I did. While I definitely disagree with what he said, I only later added a disagree just to tack one more on the tally lol (since it doesn't really matter, I would've never done it if it punished him in some way--like giving negative feedback)

lol That would be kind of funny. I'm betting those extreme trophy whores would get really pissed off by something like that. I can just imagine them too, sitting there playing a game they don't even enjoy anymore, hours on end, just trying to get all those trophies again in a faster time. Trying to be the fastest ever. Angrily going to create another email and then PSN ID each time (or going through the ones they already have). lol
