P.S. The ignore function is still very much alive and functioning. Simply click on a member's avatar and that will bring you to their Public Profile. Now in the top right-hand corner of the screen, just under their avatar, you'll find the "Ignore" button. Click it and voila! Ignored!
A key point some people are missing here: Gamestop is taking pre-orders at this price. That means they can't charge you more for it. They have a policy that will allow you to pay the lower price if the price drops before release, but they can't raise the price on you.
That being said, there's no way they would put these prices and start taking pre-orders at that price if they didn't know it wasn't going to be $40.
See my reply to BakedGoods above for further details on my thoughts on this issue. But, I just want to point out one thing, we CAN change members names to erase spoilers from their names.
And another thing. I have no problem with you Megaton, so don't take it personally when I call you out here. But I think that maybe if I continue to drive the point home, then people might start realizing and making adjustments so that the system can work as it's intended.

You're missing a very key element in analyzing the bubble system here. That element is the TrustRank. This is something that only us staff members can see and control.
I wrote out a huge long reply, but the browser messed up, so I'm going to give you the abridged version: Basically, if you have a known history of trolling, you'll get a low TrustRank. Prove a history of intelligent/rational commenting/contribution to the site and you'll get a higher TrustRank. ...
lol Yea my bad. Didn't realize it came across like that initially. We should all be so lucky as to be "indisposed" in the manner she is lol
lol Sorry, it's been pointed out that my wording may have been a bit ambiguous. She's fine. She's just busy, for one she has E3 that she's prepping for and making her way to.
lol Yea she's fine. Didn't mean to word it in a sense that she's not well. Just she's a busy woman and especially at times like these (around conferences) she has times where she may be away and busy for a few days.
Apologies again for the wording. But never fear, Cat is well. She still has 7 more lives to go through lol We should all be so lucky as to be at E3!
Sorry but I disagree. In a community-run process such as this, the Lame report is fairly essential. This allows the community a voice of what they want or don't want on this site (their site). Lame provides them a way to simply say "Hey, this isn't newsworthy in my opinion. I don't think it belongs on here and is worth an approval."
As a member of N4G, this is their prerogative. If others decide to skip over stories just because they see that red "R...
Are you saying that the reviewer actually has a webpage, but the videos are just hosted on Youtube on his page there? I'd have to see an example to be fully clear on what you're talking about.
That being said, if I understand correctly, then you should link to the website itself and the review on that website (not the Youtube account). Then you get the embed code from the Youtube video and embed it here on N4G in the submission.
I'll agree with your first point. However, the second point I'm not so sure about. I'm sure seeing that red report there deters some, but it's definitely not all (nor do I think the majority necessarily).
First off, if it does, this is a problem with the community, not the system. Secondly, I see tons of stories each day on the Mod page highlighting stories that were approved with active reports still on them. So it's definitely not killing all of those s...
Incorrect. Continue reading further in my forum explanation there and you'll find this:
"This means if some non-big-name site embeds a youtube video of some random guy playing some random game, this isn't newsworthy just because it was hosted on a site. However, if big sites are picking up the video as well, then it because entertaining and popular enough to be eligible."
lol Yea I know. Just my job, though. I know it can be a bit rough initially getting the hang of it, so I always try to be lenient (ie not dishing out restrictions or anything and making sure to try to explain why the correction needs to be made).
Glad you hold no grudge over it ;)
Don't worry. As long as you're reporting accurately, then it's no big deal. In fact, having more reports than approvals probably means you're reporting accurately (as a majority of submissions just aren't submitted right at first).
Back when I was even more active in the pending section I did far more reporting than approving. I'm sure you can find some people around that will testify to that and still hate me for it lol
If you notice that happening, report it to us and the issue will be looked into. It would be even more helpful if you could provide proof (ie screenshots) and then offenders will definitely be taken care of. That's something that won't be tolerated under this rule.
Again, welcome to the team both of you.
Yes it's a real button. And we don't like non-mods having so many bubbles. So right now my cursor is hovering that button and my trigger finger is a bit itchy. lol jk You can keep your bubbles. You deserve them.
Nope. Just an intelligent and level-headed commenter. Part of the reason we voted him in as one of the new guys.
lol Cat's cunning like that.
I know. As much work as Cat does around here, kinda hard to believe she's a staff member huh lol
And that's one of the perks of the job, we can get de-bubbled every day, but we have access to set our own amount of bubbles. Yes. We controlz the bubblez!!! mwahahahaa
That works too. I can never remember which parts show up for everyone or which show up for us staff members only.
