First off, Borderlands is NOT a "great/amazing" game. It's decent. I've yet to play co-op on it, but one mode can't save a game and pull it from decent to amazing or "best game of last year". The game is decent, but not nearly as good as people made it out to be. In fact, I still haven't finished it and have no inclination to go back and finish it anytime soon either. Maybe I'm burned out on action rpgs for the time being since I've played some many of them lately. But Bor...
One day when I'm in a bit of a game drought (though that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon with the lineup Sony has), I'll definitely go back and get FFVII just to have it and play it again.
What I really want though? CTR. Why the hell don't we have it on the NA store yet? They have it over on the HK store. Why over there? Did they even buy/like the game over in that part of the world? It was definitely the most popular here hands down. I WANT CTR, SONY!!!!!
@ThatArtGuy
Agreed. Maybe is going to be quite a fun month. I'll have to pass on 3D Dot though as two games a month is enough for me. Plus I'd like to see more of that game to really be sold on it. But Red Dead and ModNation are going to be more than enough for me.
Yea, April is dead for me. It's May that I'm waiting for. But that's no big deal, I have plenty games I still need to play right now to keep me busy til May (RDR and ModNation). Conviction looks great from everything I've seen, but alas I don't even have the time and money to play all the games I want on my PS3 so forget trying to keep up with two consoles. Plus, honestly, I'd never want to own a 360. But Conviction does look awesome, so yay to those that get to enjoy that. (Also don't have a...
That's kinda what has happened in my area. See, I have Comcast. Comcast is in fact already acting on this FCC thing as we speak. They're rebranding as Xfinity and pushing better cable and higher internet speeds (supposed to be up to 100mbps by the end of the year). Well for right now they're just doing it in major cities (from what I read on a press release they did). So of course they're hitting places like Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Atlanta. Just hitting those really major ones there to...
Yea that would be nice. Would be nice too if they found some way to effectively and logically expand the "character building" aspect as well. Like raising the level cap and building upon how far you can advance in different skills, more options with skills as well, etc.
@Kratos
Yea, for the longest I thought it was coming this month as well. But the real release date is May 18th. I have no idea why a couple places are reporting April. Sucked though when I found out the real date and realized I had to wait another month.
@Blaze
Actually that does absolutely nothing to refute what was said here. If you'll read the article (or at least the issue of the magazine--have it here beside me), they talk about what makes it so awesome is that it isn't just some generic list type lobby like every game does (which is exactly what you show there with Reach). What really makes RDR's lobby stand out is that it isn't some list like that. It's an actual world, where you're a character, moving around in an open environme...
Exactly. This is a classic case of one bad apple spoiling it for the bunch. Yet somehow irrational people want to blame Sony for all that's going on right now instead of the hackers who are attempting to spoil things and doing things they're not supposed to do in the first place. And they're not even making any real headway with the stuff either. So virtually they're ruining things for everybody over nothing. Nothing but ego and greed that is. We all know that's what drives these hackers thes...
Yea these guys could be in for some serious trouble. GeoHot at least had vague loopholes he could slither through as he never actually did anything that big. Though if he keeps on with his "crusade" against Sony he will be venturing into illegal waters.
These guys, however, took it further and too far for their own good if Sony really wants to press things. This is a violation of the DMCA which prohibits the actions of trying to circumvent security measures. Like stated...
At least somebody is placing the blame properly.
@Tripewire
"Basically, we haven't heard any of the people who actually use PS3s in supercomputer clusters complain about the removal of the otherOS feature at all.
Just xbox fanboys."
Thank you very much! I haven't seen one single person of any real use complain about this. None of the supercomputer users. No researchers, nothing like that. Just fanboys. They're just trying to use researchers as a sort of excuse for their agenda. That's to bash...
@Commodore
Read the Terms of Service agreement. Sony will NOT lose the lawsuit. It specifically states in the Terms of Service (which you automatically agree to upon signing up for PSN or even buying the console) that they reserve the right to add and remove features/utilities and functions. Read it before you start crying. There's absolutely NOTHING people can do. And quite frankly everybody needs to quit crying over it and being such titty-babies.
To everyone else, like ...
This is an absolute lost cause. Seriously, what are people getting so worked up over. First off, 99% of people don't even use this feature. Secondly, as it has posed a threat due to hackers, Sony is entitled to protect their product by removing this feature. Much like how you're allowed to kill somebody (even though murder is against the law) if that person is posing a threat to your existence.
The real nail in the coffin? The terms of agreement. These are the very terms of agree...
"It's so nice to play a FPS where snipers are obsolete."
Umm...what? Are we playing the same game? Either you suck at sniping or you're one of those sniper-haters or you just haven't been around any of the good ones (there are plenty).
A sniper in this game can be absolutely crucial (or at the very least a godsend). A GOOD sniper can pull some serious weight holding points down and many other things. I've been in games where one or two good snipers would c...
Why such a ripoff? The game got good reviews, was well-received and I've heard nothing but good things about the game and how it was an improvement over the first. To me, sounds like $30 is a fine deal. In fact, I took Gamestop up on that offer for their GameDay sale at this price and bought it.
That is the interesting thing though. Not sure if Amazon typically does this or something, but just yesterday this was one of the higher profile parts of Gamestop's GameDay sale. Now toda...
Very good news. I've always enjoyed the Hitman franchise. Be very nice to have a proper "next gen" Hitman. In fact, Hitman may very well be my favorite stealth franchise of all time (either that or Splinter Cell---I know that's gonna piss off alot of MGS fans, but hey..just never got into that franchise). Be very nice to see Hitman hit the PS3...hopefully done properly.
There are few exceptions, yes. But those are few and far between that actually need to be examined separately.
LOL Very VERY much agree with you on that. These high scores are getting outrageous (not saying this game doesn't deserve it or does, never played it, just saying). It is like the only numbers they really use are 7-10 though these days. There's no way there should be THAT many 9+ games coming out each year.
Last I checked on a scale of 1-10, 5 would mean it's an average game. Yet these days it seems like 7 is the minimum rating for a decent game. Anything below 7 just means the ...
@above
I think it's fair enough to judge it on the single-player experience without having tried out co-op. It's not like co-op is a completely different game. It's the exact same gameplay and mechanics and style and everything, just you have friends playing with you. The only appeal of it is for those gamers that prefer gaming with friends and other people (which isn't me). But single-player and co-op, it's the same game. Just one runs around as a squad with friends, the other you go a...
