I'm MUCH more intrigued by co-op games than I am online games. I'm the type that rarely plays online, no matter what type of game really. Give me a good local multiplayer/co-op game though and I can have hours of fun playing with friends. So something like this definitely would be intriguing.
@Criminal
It's funny you mention Crash Bash. When thinking of local multiplayer battle games, I'm always reminded of Crash Team Racing. CTR still stands as one of...
I agree. I'm not a PC gamer really, but there absolutely are some genres that don't transition well. RTS (or TBS) being the biggest. Other strategy and sim games just work better on PC as well.
Though, it could take an interesting turn with the Move now out. We'll see if developers can finally make that transition work. Using the Move as a laser-pointer type of device could be very beneficial to that genre.
But definitely, to say that some genre...
Oh I rage quit plenty of times (and come on, be honest, you know you did too), that game is just exceedingly frustrating and difficult lol. The difference is I didn't rage-get-rid-of-the-game. I'd quit, but then the game and the part I died on would haunt me. I'd strategize and mull it over in my head, then an hour later I'd be right back at it taking it head on.
BoneSaw, I don't think servers going down are that big of an issue (if they are going down). Honestly, not once did I ever have somebody enter my world to help me out. Wasn't needed. Sure, it would've made it easier in parts. But I don't think you play Demon's Souls for an easy play. It's quite manageable without anyone's help. Granted, I will say messages helped me a couple times. However, that was only in the sense that it helped to make sure I didn't have to...
Eagle has a point (and is correct I believe), it's not like the game is new. It's just been "upgraded". Basically, it would be like letting Raging Bull be in contention for the Oscars again just because they're releasing it on Blu-ray this year. Not gonna happen. Nor should it.
There is a system like that of sorts in place. Members have Trust Rank levels. This is a ranking that is adjusted by staff. If that ranking is too low due to excessive trolling, etc in the past, then your actions of bubbling up or down have no weight behind their vote, thus do not count.

lol Have you seen the crap on TNA lately? Horrible. Worse than WCW ever was.
I may very well buy it just because I've yet to buy a WWE game this generation. These games I think are meant to be done like Madden or MLB The Show or something like that. It's not meant to be bought every year (though the devs would like that), but it's something you buy every couple or few years just to update.
Agreed. Just seems weird. I was hoping when they brought him back after having to fire him for a bit, that they would just bring him back under his real name. I do like that they at least acknowledge his past. Him and Low Ki (I mean Kaval) both. Seems like they might be taking off with some type of interesting mainstream-vs-independent type storyline sometime down the road (with the whole Cole thing always badmouthing Danielson and Kaval).
People report "This isn't news" to more accurately mean "This isn't newsworthy". Meaning whether it's an article, opinion piece or news or what, that it's just stupid and isn't important or interesting at all.
Agreed. You put it well there I think. People try to compare it too much to games like CoD. This is practically a completely different genre. "Military sim" as you put it so accurately. THESE are the types of shooters that I enjoy (I'm opposite to you in that run&gun just is NOT fun for me, tactical shooters like this and SOCOM is where it's at for me). The game did have a steep learning curve in comparison to your CoD type games and I think that it did catch a lot of fl...
I agree. I don't see why there's SO much hate for the game. My original comment wasn't trying to imply I hated the game. I actually enjoyed it, just there were indeed problem areas. But I had fun with it. And having a decent tactical shooter was refreshing for a change (that's why I'm so eager for SOCOM). The game was fun enough, just a lot that they could've done better.
Glad to hear that. That was my exact feelings on Dragon Rising: that is was tremendously ambitious and had lots of potential, but struggled to deliver. Hearing that this new one has stepped that up and is improving upon Dragon Rising and delivering much better now, that's very good news. Of course let's just hope they don't look to release near SOCOM as SOCOM will win for me. And we get so few actual tactical shooters that they don't need to have to two compete against each ot...
Agreed. I mean I want them to make sure they get it right, but delay? Dammit I was SOOOOO looking forward to it. I need a proper SOCOM game so bad (I'm talking proper campaign). My only thing is why is it so soon after revealing a release date that they're delaying it? I mean they just revealed the game and the release date last month. If they were that unsure about keeping on schedule (which surely they shouldn't have been all that much better off then than they are now) then why...
I wouldn't say it was boring as hell. But I did have my problems with Operation Flashpoint. It could've been an amazing game, but only managed to be pretty good. Had a lot of potential that just wasn't realized. However, if they make a sequel and build upon what they did with the first one, I might definitely give it a try. This guy saying it's "forward thinking" though must have never played a SOCOM game. Cause this took the same route that SOCOM games have. Being m...
I'm in the same boat as the author here I guess. This game was VERY much on my radar back when it was announced. And even after the delay I was anticipating it. Then those reviews start coming in and looks a bit disheartening. But still willing to give it a shot and form my own opinion. Afterall there have been plenty games in the past that others just didn't like or that received less than stellar reviews and I ended up enjoying very much.
Of course, like others abov...
This is exactly the kind of news that I like to hear. I'm going to get flamed for this, but inFamous wasn't as great as people made it out to be. It was overhyped in my opinion. It had the potential to be great (much like the first Assassin's Creed), but ended up falling flat due to the repetitiveness of it making it boring about halfway through. This became a huge problem for me. Assassin's Creed was the same way. Then they really stepped it up and fleshed out the potential w...
You do realize your head and your eyes work/move independently of one another right? you don't always have to be looking the same way your face is pointing. Did you see how little he moved his head? It's not like you have to move your head 90 degrees for the screen-view to move 90 degrees. So you slightly turn your head, but keep your eyes centered on the screen. It's not that hard of a concept people.
I'm with you Cat, so you could include me in that slice of the pie. I'm not big into multiplayer in general. But when it comes to think actually playing multiplayer, local wins hands down in my book. CTR, Goldeneye, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat/Virtua Fighter, Mario Bros (the "brawling" one way back on the Atari, TMNT: The Arcade game (back on NES)....just a few of the ones I remember having the most fun with amongst friends.
