Cheer up pal,
There were only 13,000 of them made.
Your not the only who missed the chance to snag one.
Maybe there'll be a 25th anniversary edition?
This time honoring the PS2's design with a PS4 slim model.
The regular PS4 probably sells that much on average.
A limited edition console with only about 13000 units was bound to go fast.
20th Anniversary PS4 Special DIY Edition
Brilliant. Much better than paying 499$ or 2x-3x that from scalpers.
Other factors that most likely lead to this:
1) Capcom's current financial position (Sony offers co-development/advertisment)
2) Cross-Platform play (MS doesn't allow this- example FFXIV)
3) Sony has a stronger presence in Asian markets (where SF sells well)
4) And yeah, like you said, +50% marketshare for new gen consoles helps too
There are 10 other months outside of the November and December. XB1 sales have been mediocre outside of those two months. I'll give MS this though, they sure know how to pick up the pace for the holidays. They did it with the 360 and looks like they're repeating that same philosophy with XB1.
BUT, that same philosophy was their downfall last generation. That's why PS3 outsold 360 worldwide every year they were both on the market. Sony made up the difference in Hol...
We will definately get numbers from their financial reports after the holidays in early January.
Sell through is another story. That depends almost entirely on how confident Sony/MS/Big N are in their numbers.
Look out for Nov/Dec NPD and PSX for sell through.
Funny, but I'm hoping Square won't make us live through the same nightmare twice.
Dat GTA thirst on new gen is serious.
I can see Wii U and PS4 holding a higher baseline next year and pulling some of those Japanese devs away from mobile, handheld and smaller titles. Japan may be a factor next year.
You can only benefit from the items you own doing well in their respective markets.
So, most likely, he will be buying games that otherwise would not have existed had PS4 been DAO. If you think MS, Sony, or Nintendo's consoles sales don't effect their overall quality/value, your dead wrong.
Indeed, not a great start for LBP. Sony did leave the game up to word of mouth and the community. Some good news regarding the LBP franchise is that its sales translate well to the EU crowd. It's also had great legs overall because of their replayability. We'll find out how it its launch went in EU next week when the PAL charts drop. At least it wasn't suffocated by major AAA games there. From a financial standpoint, LBP games always turn a profit based off DLC sales alone.
You would be surprised at how far you get if you just asked ;)
General rule for life, my friend.
Call Sony support.
Guilty Gear: Sign is looking good. Can't wait for the demo.
A decent split between New Generation and Old Generation consoles.
Wii U(1) + PS4(8) = 9
PS3(9) = 9
Only thing is that all of those new generation games outside of Smash come out in 2015, which will make for an amazing 2015. Devs are slowly moving on. 2015 will show if Japan is still a force in the console market space.
This review is more in line with my own opinions after playing LBP3
I was surprised at some of those 7-8 /10 reviews and their reasoning for docking so heavily. Sure the game does have some technical pitfalls: lag when doing certain actions(opening pop-it), load times, music unsyncing. You have to expect better, as a reviewer and a gamer. That's not the problem. The problem is that most of those reviews don't focus on what's better than the previous entries, but i...
Yea, he's glowing.
Looks like this game was as fun to develop as it will be to play.
Happy devs = great game = happy gamers
Looking forward to it :)
We all need this. R@D has been pimping out the same demo for almost a full year now. And honestly, that demo was underwhelming outside of graphics. I've got a lot of faith in this game, it reminds me of what Uncharted Drake Fortune was in PS3's launch year. Who knows it may even steal the hearts of Playstation fans like Uncharted did. I just need to see what more it offers other then graphics, bullet time, cover based shooting, and corridor-cutscene-corridor formula.
Holiday season's approaching in Japan. Numbers should only get better.
It has been getting progressively worse since the introduction of patches last generation. Put out the game then apologize for what's broken then fix it later( most annualized franchises don't get to that last part).
It's become a disgusting practice, that takes advantage of the consumer. If devs/pubs expect us to buy our games new and not second-hand then they better up the quality or lower the price. No one should have to pay 60$ for half of what they were prom...

I should have added a couple zeros to that 20x-30x lol.
