And we've already seen how the X1 performs in "pre-season"(Greenbe rg's words). There's already little besides 3rd parties until Quantum Break, Tomb Raider, and Halo drop late 2015. Tack on a 50$ price hike and X1 may actually be closer to this year's sales slump from January to October, at least until the next price drop or promotion. Note that there is no Titanfall-like game early this year. Credit to MS though, they know how to get the most out of ...
They also still have a pricedrop in their back pocket.
That along with value bundles for those aforementioned games could lead to good 2015 for Nintendo.

So you can't compare Nike to Jordan because they're under the same branch? So I guess comparing a Samsung Galaxy to a Sony Xperia is out of the question because they're both android phones? Makes no sense.
And they can be seen as niches because they are a smaller piece of a much larger market.

Personally, it's a hobby I picked up. Don't struggle to understand why other people enjoy other things. Accept it and move on.

Makes sense. Europe is Playstation's strongest market. Looking at how well they are doing in NA, then they must be killing it in EU.
I know for a fact that Sony tracks their digital downloads. They post the top 10 downloaded titles for each region every month on their blog.
I bet Microsoft tracks their sales too but they don't give any of that information out to the public. I do beleive there is a most popular list in XBL, but you can take that as you will.
EA would definately know. Even small indie devs get reports on how much their games sell on steam/psn/xbl
