You could have enough server power but not have the server capability to accept massive amount of pinging.
Sony held off from releasing DC + edition for this long so they might as well keep the game.
Its obvious they just don't have the server power to support both(bought version/ DC+ version)

Well, the only thing that is hardcore about this 1886 is the visuals, and that's it. OH, of course the gunfight too. The rest of the game doesn't challenges the players.

There's less Hardcore gamers vs casual gamers now.
After COD changed in to a game for the casuals, I knew that hardcore gamers would soon become an endangered species.
Combine 1886 and the evil within game play mechanic than 1886 would've been a much better game imo.
All I have to say is that Sony has been playing chess with PS4 owners for far too long.
They're strategically placing the game lineup in a order, from good to bad. The drought in game leaves us with very little variety in games to choose from, and we take the bate out of desperation.

I agree Phil did say Dx12 will not bring a major boost to Xbox One. But I think even MS themselves wouldn't fully know what the x1 could do until they do lots of testing. the dx12 benchmarks aren't 100% accurate b/c benchmark doesn't tell you the best way to use(or approach) the hardware. So, I guessing Some of what is known about the x1 powers is probably theoretically.
So, Phil couldn't of known that for sure if the x1 wasn't...

MS is making a comback.
Thing is, You just haven't been paying any attention as to why MS couldn't move at a faster pace.
The hardware was released with out it having the most efficient API. With that being said, MS could have just started on writing their API(DX12) at the start of the making of the x1 hardware, or before.
Doing it before hand wouldn't give them the most out of efficiency they can get from the x...
Guys, Square has finally gone back to their roots.
Past FF game list of weapons look generic in appearance, especially in FF x111. All they really changed was the color for the weapons. From what I see in the gif clips shows a more variety in weapons appearance wise.
My last conclusion: Fruit Fusion could be a Microsoft HoloLens game.

Now to answer you question, I don't know whether the come back is going to make any difference in derailing Sony.
But Phil has been very good at leading MS in the right direction.
The choices he has made as far as which game get developed for next years game lineup shows how cleaver Phil is at making decisions.

I was thinking that too. But you know what this could be another exclusive MS game. WHY? I've noticed Phil has been trying to cover all genre game wise, as well as targeted audience. Fruit Fusion does not sound like a game for an adult. This could be geared toward kids.

Insomniac Games seems to be very precise on matching the trademark name to the game.
Fruit Fusion sounds like its going to be a wacky game.

Nobody is saying 1886 isn't a decent game. The overall game experience did have some great moments throughout the game, But everything felt like it was squeezed inside a tiny box.
From what I can tell, They've pushed the ram/hardware as far as it can go. Some of Ghalahad action moves were short in milliseconds, the way he grabs his weapon so quickly like that is a clear sign that there hardly much breathing space for the hardware to comp...
MS is defiantly making a come back. And, Phil is doing an awesome job as well. His leadership has produced some great results. On top of that, I'm really interested on what the x1 hardware can really do. The custom build GPU inside the x1 has got me wondering what future games would look/play like once its compute features are unlocked. I really think the x1 is a great system. can't wait to see and hear more.
I never heard this artist before but after hearing his music style I am a new fan of his music.
