I like 1886 but I just wished it had more weapons to choose from. Or they colud've add stuff in their game similar to the evil within.
TEW did something right, it keep the player active through the whole game.
This is the reason why game length matters for some people.
I think this happens b/c people use their past experience/idealism from what they've gathered from other experiences, and expect most things to provide them the same experiences.
Prime example: Mobile phone is what started(or popularize) the "all in One" idea in people mind, and have since become something that people want in all of their devices.
B/c of this, standalone devices...
Its highly unlikely TLG is vaporware. Its been in production for close to a decade. If they had been working on TLG for 3(or less) years, I would've agreed with you.
The name change is a clear sign that they will reveal TLG at E32015, under a difference name.
The Last Guardian trademark name sounds to American to me.
I predicted that its the Japanese gamers turn to feel what is like to have a game like the TLOU.
I think they'll give it a name that fits/appeals to Japanese gamers. Personally, I Don't care what name this game has cause I'm still getting it no matter what.
@joeorc
The PS4 parts aren't custom made. You're literally don't understand what the word custom means.
All PS4 parts are meshed in to one design, using existing parts that are available on the market. Sure, some parts are advance, but its still available to the open market.
X1 parts also uses "SOME" existing parts, but some of those parts were enhanced. Like the GPU for instance. It has duel channels. Its the only GPU t...
LOL. You really don't know what you taking about.
You're right, 900p/30fps is what the x1 has been outputting for most graphically intensive X1 games.
With DX12 the devs don't have to worry about putting massive amount of pixel on screen anymore. They can lessen up on the pixel density of a game b/c they can now add more lights in a scene.
You can throw pounds of graphics all over the screen and it wouldn't matter if the lighting syst...
Well said man. You're one of the few people that know what going on here. The X1 hardware is in fact a custom built, while the PS4 was built with off-the-shelf parts.
The X1 design/DX12 were not an afterthought like you mention. Again, well said.

The PS4 does use OpenGL although the coding arrangement have slightly changed. They do this so that no one can claim their work as their own since no one owns OpenGL.
Linux go through the same crap b/c no one owns linux.
I've been computer tech for years, from Atari ST to current tech. From my experience, software can simulate anything(everything) a standalone hardware can do.
Everything from modems to computers and servers are simulated now b/c the hardware are powerful enough, and can virtually process information with ease. Of course, the technology has to be good enough in order to do it. This has always been the norm in the computer industry.
The X1 hardware will be ...
I can't say that isn't true b/c only R@D would know exactly what they did to build their game.
Its like looking at a painting that has mixed medium. It could be drawn with water color/paint/etc. ONLY the artist would know what medium they use to render their art piece.
But that still doesn't mean I'm wrong. what I said are real method used to build a scene or object. I know b/c i have build them in maya/3d max before.
That is easy. If you have ever modeled anything in maya or 3d studio max, (3d applications) then you already know most thing have to be modeled separately or in one mesh. Neither build looks like one mesh. Doing it in one mesh isn't easy unless you're modeling something that doesn't require too many parts to extrude from a single mesh.
If you notice on the E3 build the characters sitting inside the wagon are wearing Jewel piece around their neck, on the retail bui...
The retail build looks way better than alpha build. The choice of color filter and filmic effects was perfect to establish the proper mood and time setting. The alpha build doesn't give the same feel imo.
The retail build looks better than E3 build. I can clearly see how this was accomplished. A lot of cosmetics changes(less poly count) to the character models/environments were traded in for more visual effects.
The laws of physic has been the same(and will be for a very long time) until our civilization reaches type 1 status.
That how I was able to come up with my theory/my interpretation.... Ok, I'll save the scientific rant for another day.
In the world of physic, "TWO"(of anything) is always better than "ONE". in most cases right? The X1's GPU has dual channels while the PS4 has one channel for its GPU.
Theoretical th...
Possibilities in some cases...yes. PS4's/OpenGL won't be able to preform certain task that the x1/dx12 can.
First off, The engineering approach to build/design the x1 hardware is different from PC/PS4's hardware simply b/c the API were developed/improved(or will be) after the hardware was built. The difference is, the x1 was build based on what MS had envision before they build DX12. This is what all the fuss is about here.
All manufactures built...
Wow. All Devs should start using DX12 if they want to be successful next gen. Using an existing API for the entire lifespan of current gen console is going to makes matters worst for them. Heck, if they think the back lashes was bad this gen, wait til next gen come around 10 year from now.
Now, I do agree DX12 is not going to give the x1's hardware a massive upgrade, but what it will do for gaming it will give devs a better understating of using current edge tech as the p...

We're getting lazier and lazier..
Evolve is an excellent game concept.
Thing is, we all had the right idea at one time that multiplat games are risky. Trying to balance to look and playability on multiply gaming platform isn't an easy task.
The pickyness from gamers are more than enough to drive most Devs the point where they'll lose focus on making a good game. Just to keep the peace.
Someone on youtube posted their review for 1886. I thought it was cool.
He gave it 18.86 out of 20. get it 1886.
