Phil is a good leader because he is smart. That was the first thing I noticed about him. The surprised 50 indies games reveal at GDC 2015 didn't happened by accident, it's a small clue on how Phil leads a company.
Also, MS didn't spend 3 billion dollars to have x1's parts custom built for nothing. Not to mention, the custom part were built with Dx12 in mind.
That being said, MS can't talk about DX12 with out ever saying a word about the x1...
Lol, a lot of gamers are jumping to conclusion too soon. wait until we get the full details.
My cue is if MS don't say anything about the x1's custom hardware than I will take it as them trolling.
They want to do what ever it takes to hide their business plans/agenda/x1's features to sneak up on Sony.
MS please make battle toad in SGI (like org KI) please.
You're right, 20% increase in computation can be used in number of ways; but that depends on how devs use that power.
The creativity on how a game get optimized are much greater than before, with Dx12 of course.
Ex: I'm guessing gears 4 is going to go way beyond most gamers expectation because the devs have more light source/shadowing to work with.
EX: a devs can put a light source in the background to cast shadows, to darken it up to...
I'm really surprised on how many indie games(for x1) were reveal at GDC 2015. There was well over 50 games.
I guess MS wasn't playing when they said DX12 will make porting easy from PC to X1.
Yeah, it was a good read.
The only thing I can say is that Oculus has an Oled display screen like the Morpheus.
Ok, OLED screen reduces latency, blurs, and input lags.
Visually: OLED display images quality that looks just as good as 4k lcd display screen(if not better in some cases)
So, having a powerful GPU cards would most likely get you a slightly better image quality, compared to LCD.
Edit: OLED has very good bla...
So am I. You can have millions of polygon on screen and it wouldn't make much of a difference if you don't have the proper lighting.
So, you're right I'm not too worried about the performance like you.
Brad Wardell is right no one should expect DX12 to be a massive upgrade for the x1.
But DX12 will expand a devs's creativity to take games visual to the next level.
Lighting can make a huge difference in the way graphics are displayed on a screen.
In Fable legend you take away the direct and indirect lighting in that game, it will look average. Not to mention, the low poly environment would look bad.
Edit: @ disagrees it...
Impressive demo. Seems like Oculus is going to be a winner. That music got my blood pumping.
I'm pretty sure Sony will have PC support for Project Morpheus if they're smart.
I can't think of any other way to play co op games using Morpheus on PS4, the hardware isn't powerful to support two VR glasses at the same time. Unless you own two ps4. But how many people owns two ps4.
Project Morpheus will most likely be an "all in one" device.
So, Sony has to set the price right for Morpheus to rack up on all those industries. It will be used for VR exploration, gaming, social media, science, VR store shopping, etc.
That said, the price tag for Project Morpheus will be shy off from being too expensive.
I would love to go to wasteland weekend.

When Will The Current Gen Consoles Be Defined?
When devs start using tools that are specially designed for current gen hardware.
Also, when they finally stop making multiplatform games for the 360/ps3.
That way can put all of their focus on making games for current gen systems only.
I would love to play some indie games with Project Morpheus.
Rime,Zombie nation,Alein nation, bombshell, more just to name a few.
Like you said, Project Morpheus should be compatible with PC b/c I think oculus is going to run circle around Morpheus all day long.
Could you imagine: 2video cards + dx12/mantle+ Oculus = Fun.
Edit: I agree with the disagrees on my i made commit above this one. 4k VR will most likely be the next tech next gen.
That's 60fps for each eye. combined,"120fps"
120fps in mind. MMMM, sounds like Project Morpheus could be a future proof device.
PS5+Project Morpheus= greatness
I noticed Nintendo have been releasing some of their aaa games next to Sony's/Ms's aaa game release date.
The heavy-hitters is Metal gear so I'd say Zelda would be released close to it release date.
Agreed, WB games looks amazing. Not only does both game looks amazing, it has some movies elements in it, sounds n visual wise.
The camera works(along with synchronized audio) in both games is best of seen this gen. The only game I've seen done this so far is dying light but not on the same scale as the games you've mentioned.
Battletoads in Shovel Knight.
Battletoads has co op. Maybe Shovel Knight will have co op too.
