The Wii U was intriguing and it definitely has a splendid set of exclusives... but it was just so slow and clunky when it launched... and expensive.
I still like Wii U though. I modded mine (literally can be done in 20 minutes) and it has a 512gb SD card with my entire GameCube and Wii libraries on it.
Nothing like playing some Metroid Prime, Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, F-Zero GX and Fire Emblem Path of Radiance in HD widescreen with an Xbox One contr...
Well ya, this is logical. Use the dock's cooling fan to run at a higher clock speed that normal would be too hot for the device on its own.
Ya but I don't think it's gonna flop.
The fact it's portable and will have Pokémon, that alone will guarantee moderate success at worst. Fact it appeals to both TV gamers and especially handheld gamers also, means combined sales of both.
And it's been well received, so ya.
I mean, Nintendo hasn't sold more than 32 million of any home console since the SNES (barring the Wii anomaly). I don't think one more ...
There's nothing wrong with being hyped for Switch...
It's going to play console games anywhere. That's hype, I don't care what the details are- that's hype.
21% on Xbox One? That's actually... really good!
I wasn't expecting it to even top 5% tbh. Given the user base is half as large as PS4, this means for every 2 people who bought it on PS4 someone also bought for X1, to the limit of the X1 install base of course.
I got the PS4 version just because that's the console all my other Final Fantasy games are on (Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, FFX/X-2, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XV).
I turned the HDR setting on, and it kind of blows out the whites sometimes. I have a 4KTV which interprets the HDR10 signal, but it's only around 450 nits peak brightness (4,150:1 contrast ratio) so it's not qualified as "Ultra HD Premium". But this just reinforces my belief it'...
This looks like a great little game.
I actually think there's a whole lot of variety in 1st party of all 3 platforms. Certainly Sony as this presser shows, but also MS and Nintendo.
MS has racing sims (Forza), arcade racers (Forza Horizon), FPS (Halo), 3rd person shooters (Gears), cinematic games (Quantum Break), platformers (Rare Replay), fighters (Killer Instinct), MMO (Sea of Thieves), metroidvania (Ori & Blind Forest), adventure platformer hybrids (Recore)... I mean, based on sheer volume alone th...
Looks like a fantastic game. Think a lot of people, including myself, have been waiting for a modern Zelda. Thought Skyward Sword was going to be it, but the Wii hardware and dated design approach really held it back. It was still a great game but, it wasn't this. And this is what people have been waiting for.
Might be 5 years late, but better late than never.
Games need to stay out of politics and activist movements. Period.
Wow, that's one of the best reviews I've ever read.
I always buy day one. But... I can afford it. Can't really say whether I'd advice getting one now. It IS absolutely amazing those first few days, unbelievable in fact. But I'd be lying if I said I've been playing it beyond that initial launch week.
Look, he lied and pissed people off by then going silent...
But they're working on patching the game now. I'm willing to let the past be the past. As long as they're working to make it a better game, I really don't have the energy to be angry. It's been long enough
It has to.
Although most games won't use it, a select few games like Pikmin 4 will crucially depend on it (that's one game where analog is just inferior to the point of being unplayable).
Plus if they sell Wii games as VC, we're gonna need a controller capable enough to handle motion when needed.
I can see your point of view, and it's not illogical.
But I would hate to forfeit Nintendo hardware. A lot of people take cracks at them saying that games is all they're good at, but truth be told I value their hardware every bit as much as their software.
I'd hate to live in a world where we don't see systems like the Switch releasing. Regardless of how it fares commercially I think it's a fantastic concept, and something we would ...
Of course it won't. It takes time to build a library.
But just because Console B, which happens to be in it's prime, has "more games" for a given quarter, that doesn't automatically negate all the fun and enjoyable experiences that Switch can and will offer.
I don't know anyone who would say "ya know, that console looks great, it's cheap, it has games I really want to play, AND they're all portable, buuuuut.... let...
That may be true, but not sure how that's relevant to the discussion.
The PS4 does indeed have a great Q1 lineup, which I'll personally be indulging in. But that still doesn't change whether or not the Switch launch lineup is amazing.
Surely you don't mean to imply that because the best quarterly lineup in 3 years of the top-selling console in its prime is better, that somehow negates the caliber of the Switch launch?
Games like Gears of War 4 which continued what Epic Games started, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze which continued what Rare started, Halo 5 which continued what Bungie started...
I've seen a lot of sequels do their originals justice this generation.
I have faith they'll get it right.
I don't get it.
Nintendo did mid-gen upgrade with New 3DS. And basically every game runs on both aside from Xenoblade Chronicles and SNES virtual console games.
Sony did mid-gen upgrade with PS4 Pro. And every game runs on both.
Microsoft will be doing a mid-gen upgrade with Scorpio.
I don't see the problem here.
Oh there's no debate, you get a lot of value for your money with PS4 Pro. And Scorpio I imagine will be incredible value too. Heck even Switch will be a lot of value with its current gen games on a $250 hybrid device. Not $900 value, but still a lot of bang for your buck.
But ya, I'm happy with the Pro. 4K was much needed, and it feels nice having access to something previously only available to the more elite PC gamers.
