It's a 3DS. And it's a newer version.

The name is called "NEW 3DS".

Not seeing the confusion here. In fact, that's about as straight forward as it gets. And if you'll take notice, Nintendo is making a decisive shift toward the core gamers again. They said as much in the Edge interviews, and their recent actions with MK8 DLC, new 3DS and Xenoblade announcement bare proof of that.

The recent concern of consumer confusi...

Pretty simple really. Like the PC, you can make your games with two settings. Ultra setting for those who have the new 3DS, and normal setting for everyone else.

And the more advanced hardware will allow games that otherwise couldn't run to be brought to the system, such as Xenoblade. This doesn't hurt you or anyone else. All it does is give us more options. If you so desire to play this game on hand held, you will now have the option to upgrade and play it. That'...

Nintendo games appeal to a lot of people, but a lot of people are too insecure to admit that they want to play them. AAA gaming has become popularized, like Hollywood movies. And most gamers of today are not gamers in the traditional sense. It's the same reason that Wii era casuals weren't interested in core games. Most gamers of today really don't have any interest in games unless they're popularized. They're really the same breed of gamer as the casual, only instead of f...

Everybody has the genre that they gravitate towards and that's what they're good at making. You wouldn't expect Rockstar to make a star platformer, and you wouldn't expect Miamoto to make a mature themed game, nor would you expect Atlus to make a western shooter. Different developers make different kinds of games. Musical artists usually focus on one genre of music too, because that's what they're good at, because it's coming from the heart.

I thin...

Not sure if I want to buy this or not.

First I was like "No I don't want the Kinect" so I bought the new $400 bundle. Then after I bought it I realized how convenient it would be to have the Kinect, so I was like "Well I'll buy Kinect separately for $100". But now it turns out to be $150, and I don't know if I want to pay that...

Actually that's outdated information.

Wii U doesn't use friend codes and sharing is as easy as pressing the B button to download. Play Pushmo World, another Nintendo game centered on online sharing communities, and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Not only that, they actually let you generate QR codes to share levels. You can scan it with your gamepad Camera or 3DS, or even scan right off the screen. It even lets you share between sys...

I'm not arguing that I would buy it, but can we please stop using the 'nobody asked for it' excuse? Almost all my favorite games are games that I never asked for. Almost all my favorite consoles are consoles that I never asked for. It's not their job to wait tables and take orders of what we want. It's their job to create something new and enticing that they anticipate we will want. And maybe we will, maybe we won't. But if platform manufactures only made what people ...

I own both handhelds and this is coming from an unbiased perspective of someone who enjoys games on both platforms. The Vita games are all niche. And mostly mediocre. It's not hating on the console is just facing reality to be honest with you. I haven't bought a "new" game on Vita all year. Loved FFX, GoW and Borderlands 2 (even though it was a crap port with shoddy controls and framerate issues).

My issue with Vita is Sony's utter abandonment. Natura...

Have you played Mario 3D World? It's one of the best video games ever developed, have you played Zelda Skyward Sword or Link Between Worlds? Have you played Pikmin 3? Or Wonderful 101? Or Metroid Prime? Have you actually played Fire Emblem Awakening? Or Smash Bros, or Mario Kart 8?

Didn't think so. If you had, you'd know better than to casually toss about Ninty franchises like they're dollar store shovelware. We're talking about some of the funniest and gr...

Say what you will, but I'm sorry Lords of the Fallen looks WAY more interesting. It's got it's own flair, and I like that. Blood borne just looks too gothic and over the top gore. That's a major turnoff. Not just that, but Lords of the Fallen actually looks way funner than any Dark Souls game.

Apparently quite a few people DO think our Lord and Savior is a gaming console?

Never thought I'd see the day a comment like that would get more down votes than up lol... Wow.

I like my PS4, and occasionally my Vita when they release a game every now and then, but it's just an entertainment box, just like my X1, just like my Wii U. Like seeing people argue over iPads and Galaxy Tabs, platform defenders can be ridiculous

I don't think the Wii U will catch the PS4 sales wise, or even come close for that matter.

But if we're talking rivaling the PS4 in quality content, then by all means, yes. I'm jaw dropped at just how amazing the Wii U library is already. It gets much fewer games, but they sure do make em count.

Idk, I own both systems and tbh, I don't know how people actually call themselves gamers and don't own both of these amazing consoles. If you'...

I'm playing it now on PS4.

It's probably one of the best western AAA games, but when its "fun factor" is compared with other genres, it falls pretty short imo. I'm not saying that as a biased fanboy. I really am enjoying the game. But realistically, you'd have to be a "strictly AAA" gamer to even remotely think it's the best game ever made.

Story- awesome. Presentation- amazing. But when I play the game, I feel like the...

Half the comments here are to the point of fanboyism lol...

And I like Sony a whole heck of a lot more than MS. But good grief, people are celebrating and cheering and doing the "in yo FACE" comments. Like, really?

People cheer more over stock prices and quarterly results now than they do for game announcments at E3. It's mind boggling.

And you see this crap for EVERY platform now when there's good sales news, weekly sales c...

Nintendo, with a few rare exceptions, has always made their own styled games without specifically targeting the western audience. The only real example I can think of that contradicts that would be the Metroid Prime series and Other M. Granted, some franchises seem to have amassed a larger western fan base than of Japan (like Zelda), but that doesn't make the games any more "western".

Right now, the west pretty much just wants games brimming with cut scenes, QTE...

They're probably listing them now to make the schedule seem more filled out.

But if they do by chance release separately, they'll probably be along the lines of Dr Luigi or Pushmo World. Little $10 eShop games available for download, know what I mean?

It's not like they're gonna package Project Guard as a physical retail release or anything. That's just common sense.

Um, hello...

Pikmin 3 released less than a year ago, and was one of the best games of 2013, across ALL consoles.

That's like looking at Beethoven or Edison or Franklin and finding one of their less successful pieces or experiments, then using that as proof that they lost their touch for years, and saying it less than a year after the lightbulb was invented.

Brilliant minds, if you look at them historically, only produce exceptional result...
