All I know is Wii U is one of the best video game consoles I've owned in the last 30 years. I daresay it might even be my favorite of all time. That's coming from a gamer who owns all three consoles and both handhelds. The only console that gives the Wii U a run for its money is PS4, granted PS4 doesn't have nearly as many great games right now, but it's on track.

I would also say the 3DS goes pound for pound with Wii U and PS4, but I think once that new 3DS h...

Gamers Club Unlocked discount DOES APPLY to Amiibo at Best Buy. So for any GCU members out there, you can snatch these up at a little over $10 a piece.

That's a whole lot of ignorance for one comment.

There is no alienation. The 40 million 3DS gamers, like myself, Will still be able to play 3DS games. They are not stopping making 3DS games. They are not taking any games away and making them exclusive to the new system either.

They are ONLY offering additional games, games too demanding for the current hardware, to those who, wait it for it... CHOOSE to upgrade. You can choose to not upgrade, and you wil...

There's a difference between this and Sony and Microsoft making a new controller that certain games can only run using. The difference is, those games could already run on the system with the current controller, therefore, current system owners would be missing out.

In the case of the new 3DS, the exclusive games could NOT already run without the new hardware. See the difference there? In one instance gamers are missing out and losing out on a game that they could have p...

Nintendo has also made an official statement that future games will run on both iterations. If you happen to own the new 3DS, then many of the games will take advantage of it's more powerful hardware. BUT, they will still be playable on all 3DS handhelds. The ONLY exclusive games will be games that otherwise couldn't run on the hardware.

And that's the logical answer anyways. They're not going to make a game exclusive if they don't have to. They're not...

GBA released just three years after the Color.

And again, The exclusive games are only exclusive because they can't run on the original hardware. So the 50 million 3DS owners out there are not losing a single game.

Just Like Bayonetta 2. People want to get mad like it's a bad thing that it's exclusive, ignoring the fact that the game wouldn't have otherwise existed. Likewise, Xenoblade on 3DS wouldn't have otherwise existed.

And that's what I keep trying to explain to people.

The only games that will be exclusive are games that wouldn't have been able to run on the original hardware. Nintendo even said as much in the announcement today. Yeah I keep reading all these comments about how original 3DS owners are getting screwed over in losing games, and it's simply not the case.

The standard 3DS isn't going to be losing any games. It's just that the new one will ...

Oh it most certainly will get exclusive games. BUT, Nintendo has stated that those games will only be exclusive if they couldn't run on the original hardware.

So original 3DS owners lose nothing. Only difference is we're getting the option to upgrade and access to even more games

Actually no it's not. More powerful hardware, faster download speeds, bigger screens, less blur, better 3-D viewing angles, etc. Basically the hardware performance is improved on all fronts.

Not true. For one it's not coming out until next year, they're giving everyone plenty of advanced warning.

There is no split. Any games exclusive to the new one will only be exclusive because they couldn't run on the original hardware. The old 3DS isn't losing games, you're just getting access to a couple extra if you get the new one.

Think people. They announced today that Xenoblade couldn't run on the original hardware, and the anno...

Fortunately for us, we care about actually playing games, not talking about what system is the most popular.

While you're smarting off about how the game will get overlooked, we'll be grinning ear to ear as we enjoy the best game of 2014. And you can't take that away from us.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate launched back in March. Which is when you should have already bought the console.

I own all three consoles and have a unique perspective because I actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to each system.

I hate it when people say console A isn't worth buying because it doesn't have game X,Y and Z.

You wouldn't not buy a PS4 just because it doesn't play Nintendo games, or Monster Hunter, or Bayonetta, or Devils Third. You buy it for what it has, you don't avoid it for what it doesn't have.

If those are the only two games you're buying for Wii U next year, I would seriously question your judgment

If you're a gamer, as in, your sole interest is in playing and enjoying fun games, then you have no reason to be criticizing this new 3DS. If you're someone who actually enjoys playing games and not just talking about them, then you should be really excited right now.

Because Nintendo is now making it possible to play the greatest RPG of the seventh generation on a handheld, with built in second analog C stick, more powerful hardware, extra shoulder buttons, microSD slot...

No there wouldn't. There would only be hell if those games could have ran on the older versions. But in the case of the new 3DS, the games in question are games that would have not been able to run on the current hardware. Xenoblade Chronicles is too demanding for the normal 3DS.

And that's what you guys are failing to consider. This is not taking games away from the old 3DS and making them exclusive to the new 3DS, this is simply adding a few games for the new 3DS th...

I don't know why people keep saying this will fragment those playing 3DS games.

It's still a 3DS. They're going to continue releasing 3DS games. The only games that won't be able to run on the older iterations hardware, are games that wouldn't be able to run on the old iterations hardware anyways. That's the advantage. Before we were limited to what games could come to the system. This opens the floodgates, as evidenced by Xenoblade Chronicles.

I think you and I both know from observing how they handled the 2DS, that Nintendo will post huge broad letters on any game only running on the new 3DS. Huge letters that says only runs on new 3DS.

And keep in mind, the segment of the market that would normally get confused about this sort of thing, is officially no longer Nintendo's target market. According to Nintendo through both their words and actions, they are going back to focusing on the core gamer and are abando...

Yeah but how is that in any way a bad thing? If you don't upgrade, you won't be able to play that game. But you never would've been able to play it anyways because the game can't run on the hardware as it stands. So basically all this is doing is giving us options. If you SO DESIRE, you can upgrade and play the game. But any games that only play on the new iteration, are going to be games that never would've ran on the original hardware anyways. So what's the problem? ...
