Exactly. GCU + BestBuy CC 5% back + Elite Plus bonus 1% back + double reward points (another 2% back) = 28% discount day one, not counting the games that qualify for $10 bonus rewards for preorder.
And it's game ownership in many cases, and can be shared, and can be displayed, and doesn't eat up the valuable HDD space (at least for Wii U, 3DS and Vita, although memory expansion is infinite and cheap for Nintendo platforms). I hate that my games mandatory install on ...
That's
1) the OS and default apps take some space
2) 2TB advertised is using 1000 bytes = kilobyte, 1000 kilobytes = megabyte, 1000 megabytes = gigabyte, 1000 gigabytes = terabyte ***** However ***** there is actually 1024 bytes = kilobyte, 1024 kilobytes = megabyte, 1024 megabytes = gigabyte, 1024 gigabytes = terabyte
So in actuality, they (and EVERYONE does this with memory) advertised 2TB as 1000 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 x 2 = 2,000,000,000,00...
I do want that 2TB model to upgrade my OG Xbox One aka the cinder block, but with NX and PSVR in the budget Ima have to hold off. Hopefully I can make it til Scorpio releases, but both my 2TB PS4 and my 500gb + 500gb HDD X1 are down to the final 150gb of space.
Definitely want one of those new controllers though. Heard they're HID-compliant blutooth, so I can use on my Wii U to play my GameCube games from SD.
Wow, all I kept hearing was how horrible this game did. Ha. Fanboy nonsense.
That said, the game isn't for me. Maybe I'll check out the next one if it has offline campaign, but even then it's low priority.
Been waiting so long.
I need to go back and finish Other M. I really liked that game. Nowhere near the Prime trilogy but, it was still a fine game with some excellent puzzles.
Actually was playing Prime just last night on Wii U. And I suddenly remembered why it's my favorite game of all time.
I get what you're saying, and I stand by what you say about taking away what makes it so satisfying.
But that's for us. Think about others who aren't as skilled, and never will be. People who, if the difficulty was just toned down even 5% they would be able to push through and enjoy the game. The great thing about difficulty options is that they are options so it doesn't actually take anything away from the game at all. It only adds to the game by providing ...
I don't want an easier difficulty. Neither do I want easy mode for Monster Hunter.
However, I recognize the value in having an easy mode. Not all players are the same, not all can attain the same level of skill, and all should not be treated with a single cookie cutter formula.
They could easily implement an easy mode where damage taken is slightly less, i-frames are slightly more, perhaps one extra Estus flask, etc.
That's not ...
I wish it came with a camera that could show you your surroundings with the press of a button, that way if you lose the remote or want to take a drink through a straw, you don't have to take the goggles off to do it.
Im a Nintendo fan, and a Sony fan, and Sony has definitely shown Nintendo up in many regards such as sale pricing, features, etc.
At the same time, Nintendo still shows Sony up with regard to value in backward compatibility, free online, etc.
At the end of the day it's only the fanboys who try to pit these two against each other, and see pleasure in condescending toward Nintendo or condescending toward Sony. Always with this agenda to make the other ...
Looks excellent. Hope it's as good as it looks.
All the controllers sucked out the box at launch.
PS4- analog rubber split and sticker peeled off leaving adhesive, 10 hr battery life
X1- completely outdated as a newer model released, and now an even newer model
Wii U- battery life was 3.5-5 hrs until you bought extended battery for 8 hrs playtime
So... I guess I'll need to trade in another X1 controller, maybe both, and pony up for new ones. Especially since it'll work with PC...
You, my friend, have good taste. Not a single comment here besides yours even made mention of Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, Tokyo Mirage Sessions or tbh, ANY rpg from a Nintendo platform (aside from SNES which was nearly 25 years ago). For dang sure Fire Emblem and Xenoblade deserve a mention any time great RPG's are brought up.
Anytime someone mentions Final Fantasy Tactics I just chuckle to myself and think "you obviously haven't played Fire Emblem". Once you ...
Honorable mention to:
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance [GC]
Valkyria Chronicles [PS3/PS4]
Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter Generations [3DS]
Zelda (any of them)
None of which qualify because MH isn't really your typical RPG and Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles are SRPG's. And Zelda is kind of an RPG but, no leveling up disqualifies it.
I'd also like to acknowledge these games even though they don...
Handheld hybrid is what I've been saying for years.
Love their consoles- heck I love consoles in general (Wii U, PS4, X1, GameCube all hooked up). But I really love handhelds (take my 3DS everywhere, even own a Vita).
And ya know what would make me love handhelds even more? Having one as large as a Wii U gamepad and just as powerful as a Wii U. Know what would make it even better though? If it came with some sort of built in controller you could det...
Or ya know, you could just buy the dang thing and play the games instead of forever complaining their hardware isn't to your exact specifications.
If they did go third party I'd still be playing their games. But they're not going to so why even talk about it?
Maybe you don't value playing games on the go, but I do. And 60 million other 3DS owners. So to people like us, playing console quality games on a portable device is a dream come tru...
Right. Should have an SD slot on the device (I have a 256gb in my Wii U for all my GameCube and Wii games and a 200gb microSD in 3DS) so you can hold quite a bit. But if games are same size as on Wii U (4-25gb) then it may need a cheaper alternative to expand. A 512gb SD can be pricy. I'd pay it but, ya.
And I think they should sell Pro Controller separately for home TV play. The detachable controllers would be great for ya know, on the go, prop it up, detach controller...
No gimmicks?
Mousepad, streaming connections to handheld, VR helmets voice recognized cameras and motion controllers abound.
This is a great idea. Screw discs and all that jazz. This is a portable device. Portable devices shouldn't play discs (see PSP)
This is what matters
1) is it comfortable to hold and play
2) does it have good games
3) how easy is it to run to TV
Why would...
What is silly or gimmicky about this idea?
It's a handheld. It has analogs and buttons. Sounds pretty normal to me. Added functionality of maybe propping it up like a tablet sits, and bam, detach the controls and play.
That's a lot less gimmicky than carrying a controller around with you when you wanna prop it up for some proper screen play.
I mean, if it's ergonomically uncomfortable that's one thing, but the gamepad f...
I couldn't be happier. Time to talk? Time to shake their hand and say thank you, FINALLY.
There are people of the mindset that a videogame platform is worthless unless it is the most powerful system it can possibly be and if it doesn't do that then no matter what it's absolutely trash.
Then there are others of the mindset that a video game platform's worth is based on a number of things, power just being one small part of it.
<...
We've all been conditioned over the years of generational graphical leaps to believe a system must have "more power, more juice, more more more" to even be considered legitimate. But times are changing. 7th gen changed everything.
PS3 and 360 and Wii U finally hit that plateau of diminishing returns. I have PS4 games that could easily be passed off as PS3 games, and visa versa. That's never been possible in generations past. Not to say games can't look...
