It's been a year or so since I built a PC, but this article left out a few key items, like I dunno, a keyboard, mouse, OS, speakers, monitor....
If you already have a PC with these things and don't mind using your old peripherals, great, but don't lead some poor schmuck into thinking he's gonna build a gaming PC for $400
EDIT-just looked again...how is this gaming PC supposed to read discs? Add an optical drive to my above mentioned, your choice, DVD ...
I was gonna get BF4 for X1, but if he's gonna deny that there are issues on PS4, I won't bother. I've seen too many gamers claim that there are issues. Not only that, EA stated last week that it was PS4s problem for crashing, then they delete that statement? So which is it? I've been playing AC4 for days on PS4, and everyone else with other titles report no problems, only BF4
Is an apple better than a baboon? These two machines are so far appart in comparison it's not even funny. Ones based on a traditional gaming console focused on playing video games, the other, an innovative entertainment hub that allows you to play games.
Where did you read that? Even IF true, read the reviewers very first paragraph-BETA, and most issues like this with software will be updated with patches. Sorry to hear knowing HDD space is such a deal breaker for you man.
"Not yet".....which will have 0% affect on me going to the midnight launch tomorrow. I participated in last weeks excitement and got my PS4, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. PS3 and 360 were (ARE) awesome systems, but I'm not going to let a few functions on the X1 that can be fixed with a patch, or updates stop me, nor the 1% of PS4s with the BLOD.
I can see waiting if you're a casual gamer and don't want the frustrations of growing pains on a cons...
But if it wasn't for us early adopters, issues wouldn't be found or solved till much later. To me, it's worth the risk, and I guess I'm part of the 99% who have a good running PS4. I hope this Thursday at midnight, I get fortunate again with a smooth X1, but the odds are in my favor thus far.
Chitown-so am I but if you don't use it in a rolling period, they treat you as a newbie. They were "kind" enough to release my funds 7 days after the auction and after I provided a tracking number.
There's just too much shadiness going on there man, for both buyers and sellers. You can actually buy feedback too
Glad to see. Hope those affected get the issue resolved soon, and I hope the X1 has a relatively smooth release too. See you on XBL and PSN
eBay is a JOKE and I wouldn't sell a wad on spit on there! Sellers are NOT protected! Besides that, you get hit with nickel and dime fees that kill you. Not only that, if someone pays you with Paypal (which 90% of eBay does) Paypal holds your funds for 21 days to "ensure the buyer is satisfied with their purchase". Bullshit! I'm no crook, listed my items in detail with NO RETURNS as a condition of auction. I sold a Keurig coffee maker (which eBay severely underestimates ship...
Great news! Glad I didn't play too far into the game before the patch
These guys...although the original Xbox wasn't horrible, their controller was like a huge block of clay that if dropped on a small animal, would cause death. I'd love to hear what they would've done different, or compare it to the original Xbox. Although not a glowing review, it wasn't the bashing I'd thought it'd be. Fair enough.
I was mostly interested in the "final act" remark assuming Sony is done with home consoles after the PS4. Is this the sam...
True or not, what people don't realize outside of countries like China, these kids are in deep shit. There's such thing as a fair trial there either. As unfortunate as it may be to get a DOA PS4 or (possible) X1, a month of inconvenience is NOTHING compared to what these kids, and possibly anyone working in that factory at the time face.
Labor camps are VERY real, and whether or not true, these workers face that or worse for this incident, even if it's a rumor or here say...
It sucks but, scalping happens with any hot item, from Super Bowl tickets to Cabbage Patch kids back in the day.
If you go to Best Buys Facebook page, a LOT of people (idiots) are blaming them for not having an abundance of PS4s to go around for the midnight launch. These are people who DIDNT preorder mind you, but bitch because they're a "Silver" or "Elite" member and Best Buy didn't make special acceptions to these whiny bastards. They should've thou...
In every successful launch scenario that this article points to where sales and success taper off, the common denominator in that is SUPPORT. It'll make or break a consoles success. The PS4 is easy to develop for, indie friendly, and has a great amount of exclusive titles that people will play now, and in the future.
A simple congrats, much like Microsofts very own Major Nelson tweeted in a classy move would've sufficed. I got a PS4 and I'm getting my X1 on Friday. I hope...
Sorry Killuminati, most if not all places closed preorders long ago, but still, there's hope-Go to your Walmart on Thursday morning and ask if they have any for purchase (non preorder) my Walmart had a few extra PS4s and gave those customers tickets and took their names. That night, those guys were also fortunate enough to score a system.
Another option would be to check the lesser known retailers-Sears, Kmart etc. other than that and after launch, you're looking at mark ups ...
I wonder what games he'd like to play on it...I'd figure he's a Skyrim/Fable fan
This game is absolutely gorgeous on my PS4. I haven't seen it on current gen, but the gameplay is flawless on PS4
XxGowxX-I hardly think the X1 would be "free". It'll probably work like most cell phone carriers-consumer gets their device (in this case X1) for "free" or heavily discounted, then is locked in a contract with their cable company. If you break the contract, you'll get early termination fees.
When you enter into a contract with a cell provider, you're actually paying for the cell phone over time, and it'll ALWAYS be far above cost then what it would...
@ Superman, true, but phone companies also offer tablets the same way, and with tablets and even certain phones, you can connect to wifi without having to use the phone companies service.
I think what's being speculated, is cable companies will offer you a "free" or heavily discounted X1 if you lock into a contract with them for a cable package.
Didn't have any issue with mine BUT in the initial set up the green screen was up for quite a while before anything happened, and by a while, MAYBE a minute and a half. This was probably as the X1 was installing its OS or what not, therefor, someone who is impatient and forces a power down, presses buttons etc may screw something up. If you get one, let the green screen be while it does what it does.
