Wii U is in a class of its own. To compare it to the PS4/X1 is crazy. I enjoy certain game types on certain consoles, but don't see the purpose (at least myself) in getting one YET, but it's in my sights. What I want to see on it-updated versions of games I remember as a kid, and I know Nintendo can nail this formula. I'd be happy seeing a Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Ghosts N Goblins, Donkey Kong (at least a worthy game of the name), Castlevania, maybe even a new Double Dragon. I know...
I don't know about price cuts, but I can see them throwing in extras to sweeten the deal, like free games, PSplus or XB Gold, but not for a while. If anyone makes the first move, it'll be MS at this point.
Save a little? If done right, gaming can save a ton over other hobbies. Example-a few of my other hobbies are/were- restoring classic muscle cars. A console may cost $500 plus games, but $500 will barely get you a set of tires, let alone provide 7+ years of entertainment. A typical restoration can run $10k+, not to mention the maintenance costs, gas, security measures after a restoration. Kwandar-But this article discounts the X1 and PS4 in favor of the Wii U, for reasons of lack of games. Personally, I prefer FPS' on Xbox, sports, adventure and multiplats like AC4 on PS4, and of course Mario and Zelda types on Wii. My point to my last post was this article is fanboyish in nature. The title reeks of it. If someone prefers playing multiplats on a Wii U, great, but to completely dismiss or bash the others is stupid.
If this is true, I wouldn't put all blame on MS for this one. Prior to release, MS had to run everything by the FCC, who either passes or fails a product for safety. It's not just an organization you pay a fee to and get a green light to sell a product.
Whatever the case, I REALLY hope this was a very rare incident. I hate seeing articles about console failures, PS4, X1 or Wii, especially with safety. A massive recall on a consoles launch would suck.
BlackOo-Sh!t happens until you're the one with a pile of smoldering ashes, formerly your house. Blue lights of death or DOA consoles are one thing, but when a game unit becomes hazardous like this, it's a whole new category. Let's hope this isn't true. Agree Deadmanshands, Bully was fun and funny as hell back in the day. If some people recall, Bully would be a far better and more enjoyable choice than Rockstars past new gen release. When the 360 and PS3 dropped, Rockstars first game was Table Tennis. I would also love to see Rockstar take on another cult classic movie or show like they did with The Warriors. A Breaking Bad or Sons of Anarchy game would be awesome, although doubtful it will happen.

Economically, it makes perfect sense. Retailers like Walmart wouldn't have to come up with a bunch of loss leaders to get customers in their stores. Target may have $5 waffle makers, Best Buy has crap DVDs for $2, Walmart announces they'll have PS4 and X1 available at midnight on Black Friday. Guess where the mob is gonna be?
For those about to fire up their X1 for the 1st time-I had the green screen which lasted over a minute which seemed like an eternity, but all went well.
