No offense to Gabe or people that like this sort of thing, but I'll never buy a device for gaming that doesn't take physical discs. I don't play PC games for many reasons, but this thing doesn't seem appealing to me in the least, and the $1000 price point is something that most people will probably pass on altogether.
A lot of those things aren't gimmicks at all, gimmicks could be considered motion controls or 3-D, but most of the other stuff are things needed for a smooth experience.
I've been gaming on my Xbox 360 since launch in 2005, I never get 100% or anything, just have a large game collection and also use Gamefly. I usually like to get between 500-700 Gamerscore for each game I've played, and most of the time it's easy enough to accomplish, and a lot of early 360 games had super easy Achievements, like the early sports games and King Kong was an easy 1000GS.
I think it's a safe bet that the OS is going to use more than 1GB, probably 2 at least. The Wii U uses 1 GB, and I doubt they could stream games, do background downloads and all the other things Sony claims the PS4 can do.
I think since multitasking is something both Sony and Microsoft will want, these machines will need enough memory to do everything they want, and I personally don't want huge load times on applications or games.
This guy is such a tool........Liberals are ruining a lot of things lately. Aside from abandoning out own people in times of need, they are scattered on idiotic ideas like this! Maybe work on the economy, or get gas under $4 a gallon...sheesh.
I've been using the 360 to stream since the beginning, love the new Redbox Instant because you can stream new movies, but I also use Hulu Plus and Netflix. I also stream off my own TVersity server from my computer, so I can stream movies or TV that I've downloaded off the internet.
I think it probably depends on what your personal preference is, but I like the Metro style setup, and it's super easy to find and launch all those apps.
Hmmm, I was considering this on Wii U, but the Achievements on the 360 version seal it. So close to 100k, don't wanna stop till the next Xbox comes out.
Ya, sure thing Peter, let Nintendo give people one less reason to buy a 3DS or Wii U....
Well if they are expecting that many sales in such a short time they might end up a little disappointed, I mean new consoles are right after the release on GTA5, so they might find all of those sales a bit tough. I could still see it hit 10-15 million in that time though.
It needs to be a totally new character, I'm not into the PI or anyone else that was a supporting character, I just don't think those characters are interesting enough, or strong enough to pull off an entire game, or possible trilogy.
I think by this point we all know there is going to be a new GT game, just wonder if they'll announce a Vita version to go along with it?
The guy talks a lot, there are a lot of good games out there that tell a damn good story with shooting and running. They are video games, they are supposed to be fun, and sometimes mindless.
So as I said, a lot of games tell a good story, while shooting and running.
Sweet, more variety the better value.
Definitely not impossible, but it takes a developer who takes the time out to do all parts of the game right, from the shooting and running, to the story telling itself.
So I have to respectfully disagree.
I don't know, you've already seen hesitation by Activision, and Deep Silver said they would develop for the next Xbox and PlayStation "eventually". I think we might see quite a bit of hesitation, if I'm a mid level developer I want to make the most money, which is current generation.
State Of Decay looks awesome! hopefully Class4 will be a next Xbox launch mmorpg.
It'd be fine if it were Destiny and Watch Dogs shown at a reveal though right?
Sony and Microsft might run into the same issue at first, hard to pass up an install base of a combined 160 million, for an install base of zero right now.
You beat me to it, but since we've not seen any footage, Agent seems like vaporware at this point.
The problem is, licenses expire, so digital content expires and you never actually own anything. All of my games from childhood and my teenage years I can still play, I still own them, and as long as I have a working console I can play them, online or off. That is why I like physical media, aside from those reasons, my internet is capped at 150 gigs a month, I use most of this with simple Netflix/Hulu ect... I couldn't imagine having to download every single game I wanted to play.
