I'm not surprised that certain people are pretending like this PC version that we already knew about was just announced.

Weird, I heard that "blah blah blah Nintendo, something about Gabe Newell, the deal is going through."

It's wild how since the existence of VGChartz, a site that has never claimed to provide anything other than estimates of sales (except when directly citing sales numbers from manufacturers), people have always thought they can "own" or "dunk" on the site by pointing out that it only estimates sales and doesn't get them exactly right.

I can't believe this is a Spring 2023 game and they are still making it for PS4 and Xbox One.

The reason people don't think about this is that so much of the games community today started playing games on either the 360 or PS4, so in their minds "gaming" started 10-15 years ago, and the $60 price point is something that is etched in stone that had never increased. It doesn't help that many of these new people don't even try to formulate their own opinions, but simply just parrot the rants of similarly uninformed YouTubers.

Ugh why do people want a half-step when what is needed is a new console generation? Does anyone seriously look back at the New 3DS and think, "yeah, that was such a good console, they should do that again"? Heck, even PS4 Pro and One X we're underutilized, and they were from more flexible companies. Do you really think Nintendo is going to push devs to make performance modes of their Switch games for a Switch Pro? Come on.

MW:2 is certainly better as a game than 2042, but Ground War feels like a store brand version of Battlefield. It feels like a Battlefield-style mode made by people who had never actually played Battlefield but just heard it described a few years ago.

Yep. Too bad so much of the community dumped all over V without ever playing it and went and played Rainbow Six Siege and Battle Royales instead, leading DICE to make Battlefield more like those games.

Yeah in a world where everyone trips over themselves to fawn on Fromsoft for making their games hard at least in part due to slow, clunky mechanics, the reaction to this game seems a bit odd.

Lol this lie about death animations will be part of the narrative of this game years from now. Once the games community convinces itself that a dev lied about a game or withheld something from the audience at release, no amount of evidence to the contrary will ever change the narrative. Look at No Man's Sky-to this day, people still "dunk" on Hello Games because NMS didn't have Destiny-style co-op at launch. It doesn't matter if you point them to an article from a year a...

A new Socom wouldn't be good like the old ones, it would be designed around Operators and selling Microtransactions like Rainbow Six Siege.

@shinoff2183

I appreciate that individuals here and there don't, but if you look at how people react to multiplayer games now, it's clear that people want a live service, even if they don't want the publisher to call it that.

Look at Battlefield V. Tha game had maps released here and there for about a year and half, which is actually pretty typical for a Battlefield game (only 4 got map packs later in it's life cycle). Yet the entire narra...

No it won't because if they just released a real multiplayer game and not a live service in 2022/2023 people would be whining two weeks after launch that the game was abandoned and "sent out to die."

People hate the terms "Live Service" and "Games as a Service," but in reality that's the only thing people want to play.

Yeah because obviously a lot of COD sales will have been on PC.

Well, 82% of sales on PS5. More than a 4-1 split in favor of PS5. People have said for the last two years that Sony HAD to still launch their games on PS4 because that's where all the money is because of the vaunted install base, and once again the install base fails to turn up.

I wonder how much worse this split will be when Resident Evil 4 Remake comes out and even more of the last PS4 owners still buying non-annual games have switched over. My guess is that one w...

This is one of the most casual-friendly mass market games, and yet the PS5 version outsold the PS4 version almost 3-1. Yet when anyone dares to say a game should drop last gen, people still say "but the install base! PS4 is where they will make all their money!"

Gosh no wonder they refused to announce the price so long. In gaming, no news is bad news. If devs won't specifically say it's current-gen only, that probably means the game will be cross-gen. If devs won't say a game is 60 fps, it's probably 30 fps. And if a publisher won't announce a price, it's probably going to be too high.

I haven't heard anything, but after half of the leaks about TLOU 2 turned out to be fake I wouldn't believe any of these anyway absent seeing actual gameplay footage.

Is there not some system-level way of turning off crossplay on Xbox?
