It's so wild that this game is that spin off and it still hasn't come out.
Yep. If there are story-based achievements in this game (most games like this have them, but I haven't played this one, so I don't want to assume), I'd be interested to know the percentage of players who got the first story trophy, what percentage got the one roughly 50% through the story, and how many got the one for when you complete the story. I think this would adequately tell us how many players really engaged with the game as opposed to those who simply downloaded it because...
It is because time and money are finite. The people on here think that everyone buying and playing games is like them and that they very specifically categorize games by genre and keep lists of everything coming out and finish 25-hour games in 5 days. In reality, a lot of people who buy Spider-Man 2 will be playing that for a few weeks and just won't really think of anything else, except maybe COD, which will be impossible to overlook due to the marketing.
I would think so in most years but I think most are going to go for BG3 this year with some Totk picks sprinkled in. A few will probably pick Armored Core 6 just to prove they love Fromsoft even more than everyone else.
"Why should i use a separate application to communicate when the in game options are sufficient."
Literally every in-game VOIP system I have ever used is noticably inferior to PSN Party Chat or Discord.
I mean if you are talking about party chat on Xbox or PlayStation I agree, that's just as good as Discord if you are playing with a console-only group. I just have a much bigger group of friends who use Discord at this point than who still primary use the party system on PSN.
It's always surprising to me that people are still using in game VOIP and messaging systems. Now that Discord is available on consoles, why on earth are people still talking to randos on crappy VOIP systems? I guess you could still be reported for something on discord but it seems unlikely since you'd presumably know the people.
I think this is the first time I've seen the 60fps performance mode officially confirmed. I know everyone else was confident it would be there, but it's nice to have that reinforced.
You wonder if there is any game big enough for them to do that. Like is there any dev/publisher with enough sway to come to them and say, "we can't make this game work on Series S. Either let us cancel the S version/release a lesser version of the game for S or we are going to cancel the Xbox version altogether or delay it substantially" and actually get MS to let them drop the S version? Like if Rockstar told them GTA 6 is going to be delayed on Xbox for a year if they have to ...
If his version truly is just derivative of official Pokemon music, then their sense of reality might not be so warped. I mean, if a band releases a new song, and then someone does a slowed down acoustic cover of the song on YouTube, does the band have to ask that YouTuber's permission if they want to do an acoustic version of the song they wrote? I just heard about this and haven't listened and compared yet, but if this guy's music really is just a version of official Pokemon musi...
It makes you wonder how many games get all of their versions delayed because of the Series S version not being ready.
I don't get this position. I understand liking physical games generally, but if the whole point with this game is to really support the devs for releasing a finished, polished product, doesn't it make the most sense to make sure to purchase it in the way that gets the most money to the devs? Is it really so critical to give GameStop or Best Buy a cut in this scenario? I understand wanting to be able to sell a game in the typical situation, but not here where you are "begging"...
I could actually tolerate it if they would just unlock the framerate of the PS4 version so we could run it at 60 fps on PS5. As is I see no reason to play it again, having already played it on PS3.
Did they ever fix the issue where you have to play the PS4 version of the game on PS5 in order to get a stable framerate?
@abriael
I agree BG3's launch isn't the same as a game releasing feature complete with no major bugs without an early access period, but I do think we can distinguish between a game having an early access release where the devs are explicit that the game isn't finished, and a game "launching" in an unfinished state. Early access may be another way of releasing an unfinished game, but at least then the devs are being honest with the audience and providi...
It's hilarious to see people rail against live service/GaaS, then turn around and say that they stopped playing a multiplayer game with great gameplay because there weren't frequent enough content updates, and never realize the irony.
@Crowes90
They really do though. Because most players are more attracted to live service nonsense than good gameplay.
The funniest part about this crowd (which has lost most of its momentum since 2020 anyway), is that everyone used to complain about the Uncharted games being too repetitive and never having real stakes for the main characters.
Yeah about every 7-8 years one or two major titles will either get Mac ports or launch simultaneously on Mac and we'll get a wave of articles from the Apple-obsessed writers at various game sites about how Mac gaming is finally turning a corner, and then it never does.
Last year a few of the guys I play PC games with and I were trying to find a decent RTS game we could play with our friend who only has a Mac. He couldn't figure out why MS didn't want to prioriti...

I mean, I love many things about the Steam Deck, but it's a pretty big stretch to act like it's comfortable to hold compared to older, smaller handhelds with a similar form factor like GBA, PSP, Vita, or even Switch Lite. It's a pretty chunky device.
