I really hope EA is going to start bringing out more PS2 classics, and hopefully others follow suit. I feel like it has been mostly Rockstar recently.
@Goldby
You say that (and I hope donthate is right, as I think resolution should be the focus of these new machines) but this article is saying the opposite. Devs can up just the resolution, OR the can improve framerate. And if you look around the comments, that is what a lot of people apparently prefer.
This will probably be more of an issue with Neo (if it's rumored apecs are accurate), since it won't be able to do true 4k output, so framerate improvemen...
Care to elaborate on that?
So then you don't want Scorpio games to be able to improve FPS? You think it should just be a 4k machine?
@Jackbenimble
Call it what you want; I'm asking if-since devs can use Scorpio (and presumably Neo) to improve framerate-halo 6 comes out and it's 60 FPS on Scorpio and 30 on vanilla Xbone, should the servers be separated to prevent Scorpio users from having an advantage?
Not all of them. And the point of the article and some people's comments here is that it won't just be improvements in resolution, it could be frame rate. So the vanilla users could be playing at 30 fps with dips while Neo or Scorpio users have solid 60fps.
So if Scorpio users have a better version of the game, should they have to play on different servers?
I can't wait until the games start coming out where Neo/Scorpio users have a demonstrable advantage in multiplayer matches because the game is running better than on the vanilla systems, and everyone finally realizes how stupid these upgraded systems are.
And yes, I know people play multiplayer on PC where hardware is unequal, but on PC you can alter settings to get a game to run better on a weaker system. Not to mention that equality of hardware is one of the major ben...
If I take my phone with me out to a lake and I swim back and forth beside an island, will I get 99 rare candies?
@darthv72
You don't have to just take what people say at face value. You can take what people express and derive what they actually mean. What you call assuming, I call inferring. Judging by my agree votes, I'd say I made a common inference.
And people infer the same thing in the other direction all the time (ever seen a thread Foxtrot comments on?). If I go start bashing Gears of War and say it smells like flop and "haha Xbox has no real exclusives&q...
Yes, PS Now is bad. Warriors is actually an underrated Rockstar title, though.
@Crotaaa
You don't have to explicitly mention something for it to be obvious that it is your motivation for what you are saying. If I start commenting on all the articles about Inside about how it looks like a stupid, boring indie game (clearly not true), and by the nature of my comments make it clear that I know nothing about the game, it would be obvious to anyone that I was just saying it because I was jealous the game isn't on PlayStation.
But then MS added it (for some games), and it is consumer-friendly. If you own a 360 game on disc still, you can use that. Whereas PS Now offers stupid cloud-based streaming that no one wants, and in all likelihood has been an unprofitable venture for Sony, MS and other publishers are getting new life out of the digital sales of their old games, even though digital is only an option for XOne BC. Unsurprisingly, the solution that gives people the best experience and the most flexibility is the...
Truth. Unfortunately with GTA it has gotten to the point where it has become trendy to say that the older, PS2 era games were better than the more recent iterations, which I think discounts how good Rockstar got last gen. I think people take how good their games are for granted at this point.
Hmm. Give people true BC-even with the option to use discs-and your digital store profits. I feel like a certain company relying on shaky streaming technology that probably isn't very profitable should take note.
@naruga
It is well known that this game uses procedural generation, so the huge explorable world does not have to be downloaded. It does smell here, but I think that is your envy that the game isn't on Xbox.
It's funny how everyone came around on the "stupid indie" on the "indiestation."
Came here to ask about this. It's very disappointing when legitimate buyers get bad versions of games because of the piracy of others. Intrusive DRM is the worst.
Also how many Xbox owners really care about Atlus's non-marquee titles?
I'd love to get Medal of Honor: European Assault on PS4. That was one of the last great 4 player split screen FPS games before everyone started focusing on online multiplayer.
