Yeah, that's another good comparison. He keeps bringing her up even though everyone else has moved on and she's pretty much irrelevant at the moment.
Keep in mind that MS wouldn't allow crossplay with PS3 last gen:

So if next gen is more competitive and Sony would be interested, expect MS to go back to being against it. If you can sell your console based on the consumer getting to play with their friends, why would you give that up? That was one ...
@Skankinruby
It works in the same sense that if I made a joke about Xbox and RROD, it would work because people would know what I'm talking about and there are still technically some people with 360s hooked up.
So edgy with your late 90s/early 2000s burn.
If this runs well and has a logical control scheme, this could eat up a lot of time for a lot of people.
Yeah, the global market just isn't favorable to Xbox winning. MS has to thoroughly dominate in the US for it to be close overall.
I think people, especially those who got into gaming in the last ten years, forget that PlayStation dominance is the norm (consoles, not handhelds, obviously), and the 360 selling 80m+ and being ahead for the first half of the generation was the anamoly. If you only look at last gen and this gen, it can be easy to think it's a back and forth, when in reality PlayStation tends to dominate, but if they shoot themselves in both feet at the beginning of a generation, they might only sell 80m...
Hard to believe this game is coming in a little over a week; honestly it feels like I've heard nothing about it except people speculating how much Spiderman is going to destroy its sales by only being a week away.
I think (as a huge PlayStation fan who hasn't ever owned an Xbox) that it might have been just as well for them to double down on the exclusive deal with MS, assuming MS would have been willing to pay them for it. True exclusive games tend to get more buzz...
I'm there with you. I have enough games just on my PS4 that I could probably be fine for years without buying anything new. That's not even factoring in my steam account. However, I think I'm going to make time for this one; I'm encouraged by the fact that it's supposed to be about 15 hours to play the story.
I think he/she means outside of a battlefront 2 level debacle. Like if they'd announced two months before launch that the game was always online or something.
This wouldn't be horrible; even though we complain about there being too many remasters, this one would make more sense than most. A lot of kids with XONEs/PS4s probably haven't even heard of this game.
The neon power in Infamous: Second Son always makes me want a Flash game.
I'm sure the new COD campaign will satisfy you.
The "non-first four months of battlefield 4" universe.
Lol burnt out on WWII. There was one WWII shooter in a different series last year, after 8-10 sustained years of modern era or future games across the FPS genre, but people are burnt out on WWII after one COD. If it was still 2005 I would have agreed with you.
Downvote is aimed at your son's poor taste.
Maps are free. I'd rather let other people waste money on pointless gun skins than have the community split by every new map pack. And yes I'd prefer to have free maps and no MTs at all, but that just isn't realistic at this point
I agree with many of your concerns. I also would rather have a more historically accurate game. My comment is specifically directed at the people acting like the series is due for a modern combat game, even though they pounded that era into the ground for 5 years.
I can see the love for their original stuff, but I think after this success they're going to find it hard to say no to future offers from marvel.
