Well it got reported by a few places that he was left-wing, but yeah, of course they aren't going to make a big deal out of it. Almost every major news outlet is left-wing (with the obvious exceptions), and everyone knows this. Also, the Ohio guy did not write a manifesto about how he was killing people in the name of socialism, and he didn't specifically target conservatives. The thing is, except your last sentence, that's not what people are talking about. You are saying kids kill parents because parents won't let the kid use item x, and in this case item x is a video game. That's not a violent video game causing kids to be violent because of its content, that's a kid being unable to handle denial of gratification. The same thing could happen with parents taking away a cellphone or a car from a teen.

Game Boy sales are fake; they combine Game Boy and Game Boy Color. Wii games sales tanked the last few years of the generation. If you look at a list of the system's best selling games, it's crowded with stuff from the early years, despite the larger install base later. Towards the end the Just Dance games were the only things selling major units.
