Unfortunately what is more likely is that we just get fewer and fewer real games. Younger people now don't seem to care about games being laden with microtransactions, and those are the people who are going to drive the industry, so I don't really see it going "belly up." Although your point still stands-when the industry goes to crap, you'll have a bunch of old games to play. I have an almost inexhaustible backlog of PC games for that contingency.

There doesn't seem to be much traction behind her, despite strong debate performances and weak ones from her opponents.

It's good to know that, when we finally get out of the Trump era, all these newfound fans of free trade are going to oppose tariffs and other taxes which make the economy less efficient. Because I'm sure it's actually a principled realization that tariffs are inherently bad policy, and not simply opposition to a policy due to hate for the messenger. It's especially nice knowing there's no worry that these people will ever vote for Bernie Sanders or someone in his vein, who...

Welcome to the realization that Trump is not actually doctrinally conservative, in the American sense.

It is kind of funny that all it takes to get people to support free trade is for Trump to be against it. It's especially encouraging since Bernie Sanders actually agrees with Trump's use of tariffs, except that he thinks Trump doesn't go far enough. It's nice to know that none of these people who hate Trump's tariffs are going to go vote for Bernie.

Come on. Democrats are and have been tripping over themselves to show how "tough" they are to Trump by saying big boy curse words about him. (See for example Beto O'Rourke). There would be no spectacle, because it would be more of the same.

Obviously Trump is being an idiot with the whole "blame video games for shootings," but pretending Democrats don't adequately attack Trump is a joke. You don't believe that, and no one thinks you do.

Well it got reported by a few places that he was left-wing, but yeah, of course they aren't going to make a big deal out of it. Almost every major news outlet is left-wing (with the obvious exceptions), and everyone knows this. Also, the Ohio guy did not write a manifesto about how he was killing people in the name of socialism, and he didn't specifically target conservatives. So unlike the El Paso shooter, he did not tie his actions to his views.

The better argumen...

But Republicans are supposed to be the ones who care about free speech and free enterprise. So it's not so much the bad position as the inconsistency.

I mean, people in Congress have to run every few years. However, she should continue to win easily.

As stupid as it is, it's kind of funny that Trump went in this direction, because it will damage him among a group he already struggles with. Young people are generally not aligned with the Republican party, and specifically do not like Trump. However, there is an opportunity among gamers because so many are burnt out from the constant left-wing nonsense from Polygon, Kotaku, etc that they'd theoretically be more willing to vote for someone against all of that. To the extent he had a ...

The thing is, except your last sentence, that's not what people are talking about. You are saying kids kill parents because parents won't let the kid use item x, and in this case item x is a video game. That's not a violent video game causing kids to be violent because of its content, that's a kid being unable to handle denial of gratification. The same thing could happen with parents taking away a cellphone or a car from a teen.

The issue with mass shooters...

This is fair, of course. However, in my mind, the people who are button mapping are not the ones who are looking at the button prompt on the screen each time an action is available; they are the people who have muscle memory so defined that they automatically go to what they believe the correct button should be. For those people, the lack of on screen changes will not be an issue, because the issue to begin with is that they kept pushing a button out of habit, despite what the game prompted. ...

I don't understand why people who want button mapping don't just use the button mapping in the PS4's accessibility options.

I'm essentially all digital now anyway, but I always buy the first game for each console physically because I am unsure if the servers are going to hold up on the day the console releases. So my last two experiences in GameStop were buying Breath of the Wild and Killzone:Shadow Fall. When I bought Killzone, the guy tried to act like my ID was fake and that I wasn't really 17 (I was 23 at the time). And when I bought Breath of the Wild, the cashier literally spent minutes trying to ups...

Game Boy sales are fake; they combine Game Boy and Game Boy Color. As the kid in elementary school who cluelessly got his first game boy pocket 10 minutes before the color came out, then couldn't play any new games because they were all for the color, I do not accept this, haha. But seriously, it's like combining DS and 3DS sales, or PSP and Vita sales.

You have to realize that the people who get on sites like this and pay attention to/talk about the bad business practices of these companies is such a small segment of the overall game-buying population, even of all or most of the people aware of this stuff boycott the companies, it won't make that much of a difference. The fact that we were able to hit Battlefront II as hard as we did was a real achievement (yes, people who have no concept of how business works will say "no BF2 stil...
