There was absolutely nothing gimmicky about the controls in Tearaway.
They fit the game play and story perfectly.
More sales???
What?
Please author. Think this through.
Honestly... Do you really think that a large enough percentage of XB1 users who had ZERO plans to buy TR, are now suddenly going to buy it because it is not coming to PS4 (until confirmed otherwise)! And that number is enough to offset the percentage of the 10million PS4 owners who may have bought the game!
Go and sit in the stupid corner and don't come out until yo...
Go away with your negative article.
Tearaway on PS4 looks like an awesome compliment to the Vita version. I can't wait to play the same story from a different angle.
This may even encourage a few people to buy a Vita.
What I'd really love is another Tearaway game that is cross-buy PS4 / Vita - and is co-op. With one person having to use the unique features of the Vita version to help the person playing the PS4 version (and vice vers...
Wow Xabi.
I guess you can convince yourself of anything.
On one hand you have some people speculating based on the known facts. Then there's you, making fact out of speculation.
-"Do we know if it extends to the whole lifetime of the new game?" If it did Spencer would have made that clear instead of stating that it has a duration. So we can safely conclude that its a no.
- If the exclusive is only an exclusive ...
Lol. Reading comprehension FTW! Well done Xabi.
So...
What's to stop MS / SE renewing the deal once the current one ends?
What's the length of the current exclusivity deal? Do you know Xabi?
Do we know if it extends to the whole lifetime of the new game? Do we know if it is just for a couple of months past launch date?
Seems all we know is that the current deal isn't 'forever', and we c...
I'd rather just stick an empty cardboard box on my head (like Snake did) than buy this Samsung POS
Unbelievable how much the Japanese market has changes in the last few console generations.
Unbelievably, yes it did!
She posted a statement on Twitter basically saying, I'm a voice actress, I have no say on which platform it gets released.
Some people's behaviour is unbelievable. I heard that some of the devs received threats over Twitter / Tumblr too. As if they also have a say in what deals SE make!!
Yup. That's how I read it too.
Until SquareEnix confirms IF they are going to release it on PS4 and/or PC and/or PS3 - we really don't know anything more than yesterday.
Worst case scenario (for PS and PC owners)... The deal is exclusive to this game, and MS renew the deal for the next sequel (assuming it's successful).
Best case scenario (for all gamers)... SE announce TR will be coming to PS4 / PC / PS3 a short time after the X...
The big news from this (for me) is that the new TR is cross gen - I didn't know that
That's a bit disappointing.
I suspect it's because nothing said so far by SquareEnix to indicate which other platforms (if any) TR is coming to.
MS were obviously very liberal with the truth - but hardly surprising. The console wars are fought over small margins, so if MS (or Sony) think they can blindside gamers they will. However, props to Sony for making it clear (as far as I could see) which games were multi-plat, exclusive and 'coming first on PS'
It could be argued that TR went exclusive so they DIDN'T have to compete with Uncharted 4.
If they released at the same time I suspect Uncharted 4 would have seriously outsold it on PS4.
So maybe SquareEnix calculated that it was better to go exclusive and save the money that would have gone in to the PS4 version.
@Nostramaga
It's a sad day for gamers when a megaton is classed as a game we knew about a few months ago went from multi-plat to exclusive.
I prefer my megatons to be about new and exciting announcements in the industry.
I guess the upside for MS was that the people they pissed off are not the people who own their console :)
But yeah, Sony stole the show.
Yeah, I never understood why Heavenly Sword got such a backlash. I liked it and completed it a few times.
The conematic scope of it was brilliant, there were a couple of levels that were awesome (the one on the bridge defending the old dude was exhilarating).
So I am really looking forward to Hell Blade.
I've also seen a lot of comparisons between the woman in the trailer and Kai from Heavenly Sword. It may just be NT's general art ...
I'm not so sure about it barely making any profits. Although I admit I've not looked at any SquareEnix financial records.
But if the game didn't generate profit on PS3 / 360 - then why go the extra mile to improve the graphics for the PC version - rather than doing a straight port. And why spend even more money making a radically different Ultimate Edition for a the tiny (at the time and in comparison to the last-gen) install base on next-gen.
I...
You think CD had a say in the matter? SquareEnix is the one holding the purse strings and calling the shots.
Same thing with Respawn developing TitanFall... They had no say over the exclusivity deal, and it was obvious they were surprised by it. EA did the deal.
<fanboy comment on>
Yeah, wasn't raytracing on consoles supposedly only possible using the powers of the cloudz???!???
:)
<fanboy comment off>
Yeah it was stunning. It kinda reminded me of the old Xbox game that got cancelled.. Called, BC I think. Don't know why - just suddenly triggered a memory.
Wild definitely captured my imagination. it'll be interesting to see what type of game they wrap around the concept.
The only slight negative is that it makes me wonder if Beyond Good and Evil 2 will really ever see the light of day - as this game seems so ambitious and time consuming for Wild Sh...
This could be a sleeper hit.
I've had my eye on this for a while.
