Unless something has changed from the Beta I didn't think loading times were bad.
My only complaint was that it seemed clunky to have to go to Orbit to choose where to go. It works thematically, but I'd have liked shortcuts!
Every MMO style game starts slow and gear is similar between characters. What I'm interested in is when the classes start to show their individual strengths. This only just started to come through at around level 8 in the...
I am slightly envious of you!
For games from well respected devs I normally keep away from all the screenshots, demos and hype... But for some reason I had to try the Alpha... And I enjoyed it so much I just had to try the Beta :)
So, I've played through the introduction 6 or 7 times, and whilst I have no issue playing through again - it would be nice if I could skip the tutorial / intro :D
'Insane hype'?
I can't say this game has registered Insane Hype in the community - maybe half assed blogs and hack journalists trying to write sensationalist articles have tried to claim that (and probably have 'Destiny fails to live up to insane hype' articles already written!).
Most people who played the Alpha / Beta know what to expect - so it's more excitement now than hype.
Woohoo, good for the author! I built a gaming PC for a lot more than that... And it STILL doesn't play uncharted 3 or Halo 4!!
And no matter how much I spend on a new GPU, it still won't play Uncharted 4 and Halo 5.
If gaming is so awesome spending only $380, why is it that just about every PC Elitist on N4G is claiming they have GPU's alone that cost more than an XB1. I thought 4K was the MINIMUM resolution now!
I love PC gamin...
What put me off Xbox was that during the 360 era, MS' entire strategy appeared to be 'Beat Sony', instead of focusing on the customer. They had some awesome games, especially in 2007 - but after that my interest declined massively.
And when the Wii went crazy MS' entire strategy changed to 'Grab the casual market'.
Also, throw in that they only supported the original XBox for 4 years and a lot of good will and trust was lost.

Activision stated that Destiny had the highest ever pre-order numbers for a NEW IP... So it's obviously gonna do well, but beating an established IP like GTA is not going to happen.
Maybe the right moment is once all the PS3 owners have upgraded to PS4... So there's no disappointment :)
The right time would be when it is done, and not before.
Sony fans? It's ANY fanboy that will pick and choose information that fits their argument.
VG Chartz... Fine when it supports their view of sales. Unreliable BS when it under-tracks their game/console of choice.
Bungie / Insomniac - Both have been slammed by fanboys when exclusive to one platform. And praised by those same fanboys when allegiances change or they went multi-plat.
Yes, it probably is... But if MS abandon Japan it sends a clear sign to the industry, and would likely result in less Japanese developers / publishers putting games on to their platform.
When you look at Sony getting Disgaea, Persona and other niche titles it's clear they have the Japanese advantage (although a proper Dragons Quest and Monster Hunter on PS4 would be the biggest coups) - and MS can't be seen to not even try and compete.
I'm definitely intrigued and interested in The Order, but I think some people's expectations are maybe a bit too high.
Looking at this objectively, Ready at Dawn may have five games under their belt, but one is a Wii port of a PS3 game they never created; 3 PSP titles that all use existing IP, and already had established game play / control schemes; and a PS3 game, also of an established IP.
Whilst those games were very solid, they were not original...
What were people expecting from Sims 4?
Maxis have showed the type of developer they are with the last Sim City release.
Although I hugely enjoyed Sim City (eventually), I could see that there were some very poor design decisions, and overall it was all very dumbed down.
The Sims 4 is a cash cow and needs to aim at the lowest common denominator. Just look at the number of expansions for the previous game. It's obvious they stripped back...
Looking forward to playing NFS Rivals. I passed on the title as was a bit burned out (no pun!!) with NFS games - but not going to argue with having it to download for 'free'.
No. Not the only one.
I liked the Alpha and Beta a LOT.
Can't wait to play.
As long as I get value for money I'll be happy. Not sure what others were expecting.
For me it did what I wanted... PvE / Co-op, with cool loot, and an option for PvP. Solid controls. Sci-Fi setting. Intriguing story (may be good may be more generic rubbish - who knows yet). Had an absolute blast playing solo, taking on missions with two ot...
You didn't like Myth?!?
I have such good memories of Myth II Soulblighter, it was awesome. Probably in my top 20 games of all time.
I hope the install is quick, or at least allows early content to be played while it installs other stuff in the background. One thing I've noticed on XB1 games is that installs are surprisingly slow.
It would actually be really interesting to know the stats of how many finished it, and if people didn't, at what point did they stopped playing! :)
It'll be interesting to see where Destiny goes...
It's on the UK PS Store. It's a bit tricky to find (I don't think it comes up in a search).
I think I had to hunt it down in the Demos section. It's just listed as P.T. - no mention of Silent Hills.
With the pre-order numbers supposedly the highest ever for a new IP, I don't see Destiny failing.
What I'm more interested in, is which blog / website manages to get out the first negative Destiny review.
