the only times I can recall Sony doing something vaguely similar is when they made some 2nd party studios 1st party (like Sucker Punch) - but that was hardly the same as those developers were already exclusive
I don't get it really. Notch has always been fiercely Indie, and Mojang definitely don't need the funds. So either he's selling out, or will go off and do something new.
Also, whilst Minecraft is a huge success, is Minecraft on its own a brand worth 2Billion? - And if they are saying it will stay multi-plat, it means either Minecraft '2' will likely be exclusive, or MS are hoping Mojang get lucky with another huge hit. The other games Mojang have produc...
I think the pertinent questions, if you're still on the fence, are:
- Do you think you'd like a serious version of Borderlands 2 in smaller maps?
- Do you need a strong story campaign, or are you OK with having the story as a backdrop and 'living' in the world created?
- Do you like games like Diablo where the main driver is loot and character building, not story progress?
- Are you Ok with playing the same MP...
I agree with Bungie. I wouldn't trust a review of any game written in less than 24 hours. And I wouldn't trust a review that hasn't fully explored the facets of a game.
But then again, I care so little for reviews, they may as well go nuts. I'm predicting a whole range from a few 10, mainly 8's and a few 6's

I played Alpha on PS4 and Beta on XB1... I'm sure there's some differences, but I didn't notice - Then again, I wasn't actively looking for the differences in order to justify my purchase, write an article for clicks, or fan the flames of the fanboy war; I was having fun .
Both were very fluid and I didn't notice any frame rate issues.

The number of times you get a Pick-Up Group of players, and some numbskull drops out at a critical point, or has no clue what they are doing, or acts selfishly is ridiculous and spoils the fun.
Whilst I think Bungie may have gone a little extreme on the requirements - I understand why.

This game is closer to Diablo 3 than CoD or other FPS or RPG games.
Yes, there's a story component, but this is intended to be supplemented by the Grimoire cards for those who want more background.
The main driver for this game is PvE, PvP and the loot rewards for doing those things - the story is the backdrop.
People put hundreds of hours in to playing the same multiplayer maps in CoD / Battlefield / WoW BattleGro...
But in terms of friends I am going to game with... I'm in the majority ;)

A buddy of mine couldn't play the old Aliens vs Predator PC game cus the audio freaked him out so much.
Not sure I'd add Resident Evil 4 on that list. I never found it scary. In fact, I disagree with a few on the list.

I own both PS4 and XB1. I'm getting it on XB1.
The reason is that more of my friends own only XB1's... Having fun with buddies in destiny is way more important than some timed exclusive DLC.
However, if I had an equal choice of platform to buy it on, I would have gone for PS4, as I prefer the DS4.
I am also concerned that in the long run the population of potential players to team up with on XB1 may be a lot lower than PS4 because ...

Apparently if you buy a digital copy of the last gen version, you can get a free upgrade to the PS4 / XB1 version between now and January.
Might sway a few people in to buying the overpriced digital edition.
