Wow, I'd kinda assumed this one had just melted away like the Stargate Worlds MMO.
'Bigots' is a better definition than 'racists'.
Bigot: Someone who is intolerant toward people who hold different opinions.
But yeah, I am also playing XB1 more than PS4 at the moment - but I really don't like the XB1 controller much compared to DS4. Build quality and comfort is worse than the 360 controller and especially DS4. As for XBL versus PSN - I think it's a wash these days.
Neither console is really standing out with amazing AAA exclusives right now.
Solid, but forgettable, is the watch word for this console gen so far.
Forza Horizon 2 is the main exclusive game I am playing - and I look forward to trying the PS+ version of DriveClub when it eventually launches. Other than that it's wait and see if the holiday line up is any better for exclusives.
Multiplats are what I'm playing the most - and unless th...
It's disappointing for some because Bungie did a bad job of communicating exactly what it was supposed to be.
The reasons given by Bungie on how the event actually works make sense, but they needed to be more clearly communicated before it started.
I don't see it as a big deal. This is the first of many Iron Banner events, and in future Bungie can take on board player feedback, and learn their lessons. The good thing about an always online FPS is th...
Same here.
I caved in and bought FH2. It's very good. But I still drop in to Destiny regularly and play the daily story mission or a Strike when I feel the urge. It's just fun.
When the expansion releases I suspect my Destiny gaming will pick up again.
WiiU is definitely gathering a good collection of games. I picked one up when Mario Kart 8 released, and have been very happy with it.
Bayonetta 2 is on my 'to-buy' list as soon as I'm done with Shadow of Mordor on PC
@Nodoze
I'm sure you have plenty of statistical data about player numbers and how many people like or dislike the game to back up your claims?
What a whine. The author has a number of choices...
Aim for different Gear that doesn't require PvP
Suck it up and complete the PvP mission
Games should always be fun, but in end-game you may have to do things you don't like.
You weigh it up and decide whether you will or won't do what it asks. Unfortunately we now live in a time that if the person decides they don't like what the developer is asking them...
My time playing the game has definitely dropped off - but I have still put tonnes of hours in (around 30) compared to other FPS games - and that's mainly because of Shadow of Mordor.
I am looking forward to the expansions and am sure that will drag me back in.
I hated the follow my leader style of AI in Gran Turismo - it used to drive me up the wall (pun kinda intended :)). To hear DC has a similar system is really disappointing.
Will try the free version and make my mind up then.
Some reviews this gen seems quite polarising so far for some games...
I wonder if we've moved from the media BS last gen, where it seemed every AAA title got reviewed on a narrow margin of 8-10, with 8 seen as an utter fail for a AAA by the gaming community... To this gen where games seem to be getting either high or mediocre scores with little in between - especially PS4 titles.
Agreed, but if all the low rep players get lumped in to one Fireteam at least they can only troll each other! :)
@PixelGateUK
I don't think anyone here is taking things personally, except you.
What people are starting to point out is that the media reaction to Destiny has not been the same as the player reaction. And many 'articles' seem intended for clicks rather than debate or information.
I am happy to engage in a rational discussion about the many faults in the game - and any other game for that matter without taking it personally. A tiny fract...
I agree about the needless bashing. And I really like the game
But I'm not sure Bungie delivered on everything. The story seems to have been really scaled back for some reason.
The trailer Bungie showed of multiple FireTeams all converging on a public event to take down a Walker is a very long way from the reality. I rarely see more than 3 people participating in a Public Event - and the only one that is really dynamic and interesting is the Fallen Wal...
I hope they add opt-in match making and voice comms, but I can understand why they left it out.
I have played a lot of the Fireteam co-op Strikes where they do have MM, and people have suddenly dropped out (sometimes almost immediately). On two occasions the team had an unlucky wipe, and a player left straight after (I assume some sort of rage quit!).
So if the fairly short Strikes are seeing random people leave, then I can only imagine it would be worse in ...
I'm not knocking the game before playing it. And thanks to all for the positive comments - it's good to know there's plenty of game in the core.
My problem is not one of quality, it's one where Forza - more than any other game series I love - appears geared toward removing money from wallets. And that has got worse this gen. And for some reason it rubs me up the wrong way more than other titles with DLC.
So, I am absolutely not knocking Hori...
Yes, I've played many many MMORPG's over the years. And the end game of Destiny is exactly like the end game for almost every one of them.
The obsession with grinding particular mobs to maximise reputation gains is ridiculous (WoW has gone through a few iterations of this to try and improve the grind), just to unlock some particular loot (or maybe just some 'bling' to show off your character)
The running and re-running of the same 'Dungeon...
"GamingLives' Editor has an epiphany and realised that even though he feels compelled to play Destiny as often as possible, he's never actually doing anything of worth and that it may actually be a pretty boring game. Yet he still obsesses over it."
Then Destiny has done it's job of being more MMORPG than any other FPS game to date.
The tiny incremental gains from Raiding and collecting 'marks / tokens / things' to increase reput...
The one thing that eventually turned me off Forza 5 was the abundance of DLC. And the reduction in core content compared to previous versions.
It diluted the core game to the point where it felt that to get to the cars I really wanted to drive required a purchase. And the way the packs were structured was aimed at ensuring people who are fans of a particular manufacturer had to buy multiple packs.
This is the sole reason I have held off buying Horizon 2, to...
In the UK the price of PS+ is the same as Xbox Gold. So if Sony raised the price in the UK then no, I wouldn't be happy as I would bet MS would do the same, and gaming is expensive enough already.
However, PS+ is cheaper than XBox Live in many countries, so I guess there's wiggle room there to raise some prices - but I would expect a certain amount of uproar about it.
But then again.. Looking at the state of DriveClub, maybe Sony need to invest more ...
