Most likely the item does exist but someone screwed up an entry in the loot tables that dictate how frequently something drops (if at all).
It could be as simple as typo in a loot table somewhere that stopped the item being given out to the player.
Sure, it could be something bigger - but I would hope (and imagine) that Bungie could adjust the loot tables for FWC to either sort out the drop rates for those Motes, or change the item ID entirely so it could use...
That's a really poor article...
One game we knew was not going to be shown (Last Guardian)
One game that is only just announced, so hard MIA (Hot Shots Golf)
And Gravity Rush 2... Probably the only legit game for inclusion on the list.
Did the author have an article quota to fill for the week or something?
It is rather surprising that something so fundamental for this Faction was not picked up in testing...
Or, y'know, not worry about it too much, keep gaining rep, and wait for Bungie to fix it and most likely compensate those players who needed the motes and not shards.
We don't know how quick Bungie are going to be to fix these things, but considering it's already been acknowledged is a good sign.
Doesn't seem worth ditching FWC, when you're nearly at Rank 2.
I can't blame Destiny for this, as it was my choice to do it - but after levelling 6 characters across the Alpha and Beta I was pretty sick of the Tutorial Section when the final game launched. :)
I ended up starting three characters (one for each class), and blasting each of them through to the point where the Sparrow unlocks. Just to get it out the way.
It is kinda cool being able to go back and explore the areas where the enemy were too tough in the Be...
There's a world of difference between farming, and taking advantage of an exploit.
Players are exploiting the games mechanics to increase the chances of high level drops.
You have to stand in a certain spot to ensure the enemies keep spawning. As soon as a player crosses the invisible boundary, the spawn point acts as intended.
You think Bungie want hundreds or thousands of players across their servers all standing in a particular spot a...
I don't believe the enemies spawning here have higher drop rates for top tier loot.
What's happening is that based on the huge kills per minute, the odds of good loot dropping is massively increased.
It's just exploiting the drop rates.
Picking a rough number out of the air based on my memory of recent Strikes... I'd put the kills per minute at around 10-20 across the 3 player Fireteam (averaging 300-500 kills in 20-40 minutes...
I heard about this exploit on Saturday. It's now Monday morning... I suspect Bungie will have a patch of some sort dropped by Thursday.
If they don't then I'd be concerned.
All these doom and gloom articles appearing (I've seen two this morning already) because someone found an exploit, is ridiculous.
It'll get patched, so enjoy it while it lasts - but I've not tried it. I'd rather feel I actually earned my loot / upgrades.
It's not a 'solution' to the end-game grind, as that doesn't need a solution.
Normally I'd absolutely agree with this... But my collection of 250+ games just from Steam, many many of which I still haven't got round to playing, makes me think I'm spending more time looking for sweet deals than playing the games!! :)
Yeah, I completely agree _FantasmA_
I have a quite decent gaming rig, but I'd never consider going only PC gaming. Having a console is a must for me.
I couldn't imagine going only PS4 or only PC (or only Xbox, or WiiU) etc.
Off topic... I wonder what MS are going to do about the hundreds of obvious rip-offs that have emerged over the years. Notch loved some of them, but I doubt MS will take such lenient view.
So spoiling info from games is now 'news'.
Original title appeared in my RSS feed.
Thanks, twats
Oh, and so, yeah, well done changing title and marking comments as spam... Maybe the picture on the article is a bit of a give-away though!
Everyone is free to form their own opinions, but I think a lot of people have missed the point of Destiny - or at the very least went in to it with expectations the game was not intended to deliver.
A large part of that problem falls squarely on to Bungie / Activision for their confused, vague messages
But I agree with you that, the Loot process is awesome. Every time I see a new piece of loot pop from an enemy. Every time I finish a mission and wait for th...
Most of the hype is generated by the media - not the gamers.
Destiny was not over-hyped - An alpha and a beta allowed people to see exactly what they would get, and word of mouth was generally good. People were more excited than hyping it to be the best FPS ever.
Destiny is not a disappointment to the millions of players online, the many I encounter on a daily basis still playing, and those Friends who I still game with online regularly.

I'm glad I tried the Alpha / Beta and got to form my own opinions. The only review I really agreed with was Eurogamer.
I really hope ALL games this gen are going to be held up to the same level of scrutiny and criticism.
Loving the game, and can't wait for expansions. Definitely an 8/10 game for me.
Lets just hope these harsh criticisms are applied fairly and consistently across every game...
I think Destiny has been unfairly criticised. I have no objection to pointing out what a game does badly - but I've seen games with story telling just as bad, and others with much less content get praised.
I've played a few Dynasty Warriors games over the years, and they've always been solid games, worth a play and worth a 7/10 rating.
Good to see they didn't do anything stupid with this Zelda skinning of DW.
I hope the score doesn't put people off, and that it can attract some new gamers to this interesting genre.
It would have been nice as I never played ODST or Reach (or Halo 4 for that matter), but I am happy with having the main numbered versions only in the MCC - so I don't feel short changed by not having those two games - it's still amazing value.
I was never really a fan of Halo 2, or 3 but for some reason I am really looking forward to playing through from Halo CE to 4 - maybe nostalgia, or just to ensure I am up to date on the story before '#5.
The problem is, the most vocal detractors are not highlighting the issues, they are condemning the game entirely.
So, basically the people with zero (or little) time playing the game are the ones who are making the most noise, and are the least qualified to discuss the flaws.
I'm 20+ hours in, and I'll happily discuss the poor storytelling, the repetitive missions, the tweaks needed to the HUD, and other things I'd like to see improved. And equal...
