Perhaps IGN wrote the review based on a not-quite-retail version of the game (due to deadline constraints?)... This was posted on their site (possibly by mistake), but then amended when the final retail version was checked.

Didn't something similar to this happen with Heavenly Sword or Lair, where a site reviewed a pre-release version???

Other reviews have not mentioned anything like this amount of framerate problems perhaps IGN just screwed up - it wouldn't be t...

At last years Video Games Live in London, they had Michel Ancel on stage at one point.

When someone shouted out about Beyond Good and Evil 2, he was pretty candid... He said he was ready to do it and would love to do it, but UbiSoft hadn't/wouldn't green light it.

Perhaps things have changed.

I hope they get the bugs fixed quickly. The locking up issue is so frequent that I've stopped playing the game. Feels like a real waste of money, which is a annoying as the game is good fun.

It's a shame developers get pressure put on them and have to release glorified beta software.

Congratulations Internet, once again you've managed to raise our expectations on the back of rumour and speculation!! :)

You're spot on Bootsielon. Whoever gets their 'home entertainment hub' (whether that be PS3, 360 or Media Centre PC) in to the most homes, with the most services, will be carving out a valuable piece of revenue generation!

IPTV, music downloads, video on demand, games, HD playback, streaming media, mobile etc etc are all crucial areas. One of the (many) keys to this will be simplicity of connection, and 'all-in-one' solutions.

It'll be no surprise if MS try and...

Jason, you're a bit agressive eh? Forget the Ritalin today?

I put forward thoughts why PC's might be on the decline in Japan, and why I use my PC less.

I own a 360 and a fairly good PC, (and PS3, Wii and a fair few consoles from the last 20 years+); however, Microsoft isn't as relevant to Japan as Sony in the consumer electronics space and the 360 doesn't have the same functionality as the 360 for this example.

Is it just because I used the the PS...

I can understand this. PC's actually seem less relevant and more confusing in the current electronics climate.

I'm definitely using my PC less and less as other, more convenient, devices appear.

One of the major problems of the PC is that there's so much competition among apps and few proprietary formats.

People like simplicity and a single point for all their stuff. To have to download iTunes OR use Media Player is a decision people would rathe...

A Welcome Reminder How Much Better PC Gaming Can Be...

...And how much more expensive!

Console's and PC's can live together happily.

I'm glad I kicked the habit of upgrading my PC just for a few more frames per second - it can become almost an obsession to some.

PC gaming may be great and certainly has it's place, but in all the years of PC gaming there's never really been the same level of innovation and creativity as seen on th...

I've had a 360 since launch (actually I've had 3 due to RRoD :) ), and have just picked up a PS3 after the price drop.

I love my 360, it's a great console with great games. But I have to say that if the PS3 is gimped by RAM or anything like that, it sure as hell isn't showing it!

1 year old PS3 games look better than most 2 year old 360 games. Compare the technical/graphical quality of Resistance to Perfect Dark 0. Compare any driving game to Motorstorm.

The Wii's success comes down to a lot of things...

This isn't an exhaustive list, but in my opinion these are the main things.

Just like the iPod, it was launched at the right time to a market that was looking for something different. Is the iPod the best mp3 player? Is iTunes the best music library software? Is the iTunes store the best? No, no and no. Is the Wii the most powerful console? Does the Wii have the biggest attach rate or developer support? <...

Lighten up Waffles!

There's a fine line between realistic physics and fun physics.

Halo 3 has great fun physics... as demonstrated by that video.

This war is going to drag on and on... Betamax vs VHS took 10 years to resolve itself - I hope this battle doesn't last as long.

The problem is:

- HDTV penetration too low
- Poor consumer education of 'What is HD'
- High price of HD/Blu discs and players compared to DVD
- Limited HD options for broadcast TV

Until most of those areas I've mentioned get sorted out neither format will win anytime soon regardless of which has more ...

Any game that raises the bar in an area is a good thing. Forza 2 does some amazing things, and if that pushes Polyphony to do better with GT5 then that's a good thing.

I felt Forza 2 was a bit 'sterile', but once you get the force feedback wheel it's a phenomenal game.

I hope GT5 features physics and feel as good as Forza 2 as GT4 was a big disappointment. The onyl downside of GT5 is that if it does handle well I'll need to buy another forcefeedback wheel (unle...

Just because a game states it has 100's and 100's of cars, if they are only marginally different what's the point?

I'd rather have less cars from a wider variety of manufacturers, than a 98, 99, 2000,01, 02, 03 etc etc etc Subaru Impreza variation.

This is a criticism of any game that promises hundreds of cars...

I'd be really interested to know which SKU is driving the sales increase.

The 40GB is great value (well, it's a good starting point), but the 60GB is much better value... more features and two games.

I picked up a 60GB for myself, and one as an Xmas present - I didn't even consider the 40GB version.

Depending on which SKU is driving the sales could really dictate Sony's next move (especially in Europe).

My feeling is that in the New ...

Actually Madden, the articles on gamesindustry.biz are usually really interesting and informative. Sure, they are often opinion pieces, but they play devils advocate and are never biased.

If you subscribe to their newsletter you'll get an article every Thursday. I highly recommend it.

As for the whole BC debate... in the end it'll be meaningless but this early in the PS3's lifecycle it does seem like a strange move.

When MS announced limited BC i...

Maybe you're right, my set up uses a 27" HDTV as it's in a small room. I'm sure on a 40"+ screen it would look amazing... but £10 per movie more amazing? I dunno, I can't justify that, especially as upscaling DVD doesn't look all that bad either.

This may be a bit off-topic, but having recently watched my first blu-ray movie I can say I was impressed, but not enough to fork out the extra money compared to DVD prices.

For example the film 300 was on pre-order DVD format for £9.99 and now retails for £13, but the blu-ray version is about £24. It's just not worth the extra money.

Until HD-DVD or Blu-ray movies drop in price I'm just not interested in this format as anything other than for dat...

Considering that MS has come out and said that up to a point, every 360 sold had a defect it's not enough that they extend the warranty - that may sort out the hardware problem, but it's not fixing the restrictive DRM.

The DRM issue is a fundamental problem they need to address.

I'm on my 3rd 360, and it's really annoying as I have no idea what Marketplace content I bought on the 1st or 2nd console (I now keep track of what I'm buying on my 3rd) - it just gets mo...

I always lamented the cancellation of True Fantasy Live Online - that MMORPG looked like it had plenty of potential.

I was never massively in to Dark Cloud games but I could see the appeal and quality. I know a few people who will be happy DC3 is on the way (even if it does launch in '09)
