I'm sure this will be taken as flame bait, but read my other comments, I'm unbiased.
While I am interested in KZ2 and think it's the best looking game this generation, I am taking a cautious approach until I get my hands on it.
To me GG are still an unproven developer, so starting talk of GoTY 2009 for KZ2 is premature. KZ was not a great game, and their other titles have failed to impress.
Haze got some good previews, plenty of hype, and had an e...

I was looking forward to Banjo Nuts and Bolts, but after playing the demo I can safely say all my anticipation dropped through the floor. I may rent it at a later date, but based on the demo it's not a great game.
LBP is excellent though, and I'd recommend it to everyone. I'm currently putting together a level and it's great fun. Half the fun is experimenting with the tools to do cool stuff.
The platforming element of LBP is OK, not exa...
"Now we could be logical and say that this is more a matter of personal taste than anything"
So the author agrees that his article is illogical??? So what was the point of it?
Well done for proving your journlaistic credibility by copying and pasting the highly reliable meta critic scores and providing zero analysis or commentary!!
Personal taste is the ONLY thing that matters when judging the quality of a game.

Goddamit I'm cancelling my pre-order!
Anyone know if there's a full list of fixes anywhere? There's a few bugs that really annoyed me which are not listed. (Such as moving the missus in to a new house and not being able to rent out or sell the old place - which seemed to hit a lot of people).
It's a shame that Lionhead has taken so long to fix the Abbot glitch - I would have expected a bug like that to be hot fixed very quickly. In fact, it's pretty disgusting that a AAA 1st party exclusive title could launch with...
Their original vision for the isalnd would have allowed it to be free.
If you read around you'll see that they have now stated that they have added so much more content than they originally thought - they have to charge for it.
Rather than complaining about lying, why not vote with your wallet and not buy it.
Burnout Paradise has been the best DLC supported game this generation.
Anyone who loves the game would have no issue with Crit...
Absolutely nothing really in terms of features (and the 360 may possibly have better DivX support - although not sure these days).
I just find the PS3 far easier and quicker to use.
For example I use Nero. I fire up Nero Home and all my content appears in my PS3. I used to use Azureus for Bit Torrents, and it would immediately appear in my PS3. I took my PS3 round to a mates house (who wanted to compare a PS3 to a 360 as he intends to buy one or the other), and ...
Personally, titntin, I think MS spinning off it's 1st party devs might be a good move.
MS appear to be making a clear dilineation between what they do (make the Xbox hardware), and what developers do (obviously, make the games).
In terms of costs which is cheaper...
- Owning a first party dev and paying all the associated costs (including delays etc)
Or
- Hiring the best developer to create the game they want (and boun...
As Fishy said in the first post - it almost looked like a Bruce article taking a swing at MS!
MS has it's fingers in a lot of pies - that's not going to change. The MS we know now is going to evolve over the next few years - and possibly become a much smaller, leaner and more agile company.
But I'm not entirely sure I agree with Bruce that the entertainment division is going to be a huge part of their continued dominance or success.
The Zune isn't...
Pointless article.
We have seen very few genuine reports of NXE causing any sort of widespread issues.
The number of RRoD stories has really dropped off, so MS must have improved things.
Personally I'm hoping my 360 fails sometime around Jan 09. I'm on my third 360 and the unit I've got is an older refurb - before the heatsink fix went in. My warranty runs out in Feb so it'd be nice to get a newer unit!!
Sales figures for LBP may not have been great in our opinion, but I'd be surprised if LBP hasn't generated a profit already. I doubt the beta had much effect on sales at all.
A game like LBP is never going to sell in the multi-millions, or even shift hardware. It's a new IP, and a quirky game.
But what it has done is show that Sony are happy to invest in innovative new IP. In one fell swoop they've shown MS as nothing but poor imitators; and Nintendo as having...
Unfortunately I still occassionally succumb to the allure of an MMORPG. My time in the game usually goes like this..
First month... Cool, this is fun
3rd month... OK, so I'm still killing 5 million of the same enemy and doing pointless quests that lead nowhere - but if I just hit another level the 'good stuff' will open up.
6th month... OK, so now I'm killing 10 million of the same enemy with a different skin and made a little bigger. And there's...
Could someone please get a SPOILER warning stuck somewhere in the summary above.
R2 only came out in Europe yesterday (and I won't be playing R2 until Xmas), but thanks to this article I now know at least a snippet of the ending (and a big one at that I would imagine)! :(
Damn my speed reading eyes!!!
First day sales in the UK were 55% to 45% in favour of 360 by most accounts.
I heard similar stuff for the US market too. Now looking at the fact that of the 6million copies sold (as of May this year), 3.6million of those were on day 1 - we can guess that the 360 beat the PS3 by around 360,000 units world wide on day 1.
Chances are the 360 pulled ahead after day 1 due to bigger install base, but even if we take it that the 360 vs PS3 sales were 60% vs 40% overall ...
Bet MS are REALLY glad they paid Eidos for that exclusive DLC!
Perhaps this will teach MS a lesson that trying to buy higher sales by paying off every developer/publisher to gain DLC does absolutely nothing...
50 mill on GTAIV DLC, and the game sells only a few more copies than the PS3 with it's lower install base.
Now Tomb Raider exclusive DLC, and yet the game sells better on the PS3... with it's lower install base.
Well done MS. Why not ...
As it appears Lasik already got a code above, well done RandomJaz! Check your PM mailbox. Code sent.
You have to strike a balance with a handheld console.
What's the point of having something as powerful as an RSX in a handheld when a) the screen resolution is so low that most of the power would be wasted, and b) the battery life would be measured in minutes not hours (or would require a battery far to big to carry around)!!
I just got an email containing a genuine, pristine, unused HOME Beta key (activation must be through a Euro account I think), but I don't want it as I'm already in the US beta.
If anyone wants the code I will give it to the person who posts the best joke below!!
Make me laugh and win a HOME beta code!!
Cheers Perjoss...
I still have a boxed copy of the 128k Spectrum version of Elite on cassette by Firebird!!! Best game ever!!
This may be completely off topic... But back in the day stuff that we would now have to pay extra for in a Collectors Editon, was completely standard.
The Elite box I have came with keyboard overlays, a thick manual, a novella (The Dark Wheel or something iirc), a map/poster and some other bits. All for the princely sum of...
