What some people fail to remember is that Sony's E3 '05 footage was designed to do one thing only... Take the limelight off the 360 launch.
Anyone who thought the PS3 was really going to launch with 2 HDMI ports, 3 network ports, and the ability to run games in 1080p at 120FPS were suckers.
The target footage is the same deal. Sony needed to deflect attention from the 360.
Does anyone even remember what Microsoft did at E3 '05? All the talk was about t...
Agreed 2 cents.
I bought a 360 at launch, and thought it was the best gaming platform I'd seen. I bought a PS3 when they made the first price drop, and from the first game I loaded up it proved itself as a marginally better console than the 360. The PS3 is going from strength to strength.
Disgusting.
Trade descriptions act would sort it out in the UK. Needs reporting that what they advertise is not what you get.
In the 2nd pic the box looks like it's full of R4 cartridges. As far as I was aware the device itself is not illegal, and is quite a 'grey area' under law.
It also seems strange that Amazon have multiple 3rd party companies selling various R4 devices - but Nintendo don't seem to be pursuing them. Surely a simple call to Amazon would get them to close down the listings of the companies selling these devices if they were in fact illegal.
One taff selling these throug...
What would make me happy in '09 from Microsoft...
- They announce some new and exciting IP's
- They announce sequels to established 360 exclusive IP's
What would make me unhappy in '09 from Microsoft...
- More wasted money on exclusive DLC (looking at you GTA IV!) which could be invested in new IP etc
- More wasted money on making traditional Playstation 3rd party titles mult-platform and then crowing about it as if it's t...
<sniff> Nintendo, I've got something to tell you....
We've had some magic times. They were special, and I'll never forget them.
But something's changed... I used to love the way you gave me little gifts of gaming genius; and the way you made your games accessible but so deep and challenging and interesting made me smile.
Recently you've been getting a bit shallow.
But it's not you, it's me. I thought we could work it out. I...
Spore and Nintendo I agree with...
Some uncalled for swipes at the PS3 at the end... Suicide to sell at high price. 'Then, of course, since this is Sony, there were server problems.' And why would LBP be on the honourable mention list when the author mentions 'everyone should play the game'!!
And why no Too Human? Surely the single biggest flop of the year. Awful game, overhyped and then Dyack tells us that it's not really a POS, we just don't 'get it'. OK.

Hmmm, not overly impressed, but I'm sure MS have a few more titles hidden up their copious sleeves.
Only games I am interested in from that list are Dragon Age and Star Ocean (and has Dragon age been confirmed for a Winter 09 release on 360?).
Can't really see how any list can contain Alan Wake as a) we know nothing about it, and b) I didn't think it had a confirmed release date.
Possibly interested in Forza 3, but that depends on how good GT5 is. ...
Kojima: We're milking the franchise dry
Thing is Judas... At least some of the 150million PS2 owners will buy a PS3 at some point. Maybe not this year, maybe not even in the next 3-5 years. But at some point they may buy one. (Of course, some PS2 owners will have bought a PS3, or even a Wii or 360 already).
Those people buying a PS2 now - even though the 360 and Wii are only a little bit more expensive - are making a choice. It may be because there's such a great library of Playstation games; it may be brand loya...
If we're talking in terms of sales numbers then yes, I expect the PS3 will get beaten.
If we're talking in terms of profit then the only winner is Nintendo.
I can't see how MS are making a profit on the 360 now that it's at such a low price (for comparison Nintendo make about 6$ per Wii and the 360 is a more complex machine).
So what we're really talking about here is who (out of MS and Sony) is possibly going to make the lower loss!!!
Slightly off-topic, but...
I always found it amusing how 360 fanboys claimed all the way through development that Haze was only ever a timed exclusive on PS3 and that THEY WOULD HAVE IT soon after. But as soon as it was clear the game was getting low review scores they seriously changed their tune to PS3 exclusives suck!!
The ever fickle nature of fanboy logic! :)
Slightly more on-topic...
It seems crazy to me that true 3rd party devs w...
I agree with about T2 DaKid, but other publishers have also stated this at various times... If this keeps on happening it won't be far off from being considered a trend!!!
Agreed.
Although can't say I'm enjoying the Wii. Mine's been gathering dust and has now been donated to my parents!
Why don't you spare a moment for the actual people who are involved, and who are now looking for work, before shooting your mouth off.
Perhaps when you grow up you'll be in a position where your job and livelihood is on the line, and you'll understand why comments like 'Good riddance' are immature and idiotic.
One bad game does not make a bad developer. There is (was) plenty of talent at Free Radical. Before this recession is over there are going to be a lot mo...
Omega4... I find this strange as well, simply because of the high attach rate figures Microsoft keep trumpeting. But we have to believe the publishers who have said this as they report revenue as part of their financial results. So any accusation of bias or BS can't be attributed to their comments - because it's there in black and white (if you care to dig in to their financial results).
I can't really figure out how this could be true though... If they were talking profit I...
Looks like Rebellion is picking up this project from the remains of Free Radical.
Hope this isn't true.
People being made unemployed just before Xmas is never a good thing. :(
EDIT: Looks like it is true. As the updated article mentions; Gamesindustry.biz is reporting it as fact. Office is locked up. Staff meeting at a nearby hotel for final briefing.
People keep saying the PS3 needs a price cut to be saved. But I don't think that's the case.
The PS3 has been on the market for a couple of years. They have potentially 8 years or more of sales left. So why would they follow MS and make huge price cuts? Sony made some pretty huge cuts shortly after release.
This is a product with a 10 year (at least) life cycle. So why would Sony even consider a proice cut to match Microsoft. It would make no sense.
