How is that lame. Every MMO launched to date has had issues in the early days. I'm not excusing it, I think it's unacceptable - but it's a fact of the genre. To expect otherwise is just naive.
But you make it sound like the game has huge issues, which just isn't true. I've played 8 different character builds up to varying levels, and all have been fun (which is the most important thing). The game desperately needed some content - which I hope the Halloween event will add. Bu...
I know N4G is a haven of complainers, but the old saying 'vote with your wallet' applies to MMORPG's more than any other genre. If you think the game is that buggy and has that many problems it's pretty simple to stop playing.
Of course I'm making a pretty big assumption you are actually playing the game as you comment in pretty much every CO thread. Otherwise just whinging because you played 10mins in Beta, or you can't pwn everyone in PvP would be sad.
I'm ha...
A well told, immersive, story/game doesn't necessarily need good graphics.
However, good graphics (or more accurately, good art direction and level design) can massively add to the immersion, and help story telling.
A price cut at this stage is a little worrying, but if the game can hold on for another 6 months then I think it'll find a nice little niche.
DC Online will probably be more successful, but from the vids I've seen, the graphics and game play look inferior to Champions.
I'm enjoying the game a lot. There's just enough content to hit level cap. There have been some nerfs/changes, but what do people expect at such an early stage.
The only area I thi...
"Most People Think Xbox 360 Games Look Better"
Who are these 'Most people'?
Is this the same 'Most people' who think sales = quality?
Just askin'...
I guess for some people the PC vs couch/sofa argument is relevant.
Luckily I have my PC and consoles going through DVI/HDMI in to an amp and then in to my HDTV. Coupled with a wireless 360 adpater for the PC it's perfect for gaming either at my desk or sofa.
@NeoCloud
I can only speak from personal experience, but I have had no issues with getting stuck in scenery, falling through floors and stuff like that.
The only time I had the game freeze was when I accidentally left it on pause for a few hours. when I unpaused it, it froze. But in general play I've never had an issue.
I agree onanie.
A paper comparison of spec vs spec between the PS3 and 360 makes the two look fairly comparable - but our eyes (those not wearing fanboy goggles!) show the PS3 is doing 'something' better than the 360 that must go beyond just having a strong developer network.
The added documentaries on the Uncharted 2 disc are pretty interesting in this regard when they start talking about how much stuff they are offloading to the Cells SPE's. I don't know (or r...
To say developers are killing PC gaming is ridiculous. Just because the PC market doesn't exactly mirror the success of the console market doesn't mean it is on it's last legs.
Many developers find the PC a perfect place to cut their teeth. We've seen a massive ground-swell of really good independant games this year.
I'm glad the PC is providing a 'different' experience to consoles.
PC developers just need to be a bit smarter in the way they de...
I don't think this is strictly about differences in PS3 vs 360 hardware - but more about the way Sony and MS have structured development.
You never hear of 360 devs working with each other to exchange tech and solve problems, and yet Sony have set up the ICE team and a solid developer network geared to help each other out.
That has to be a huge benefit right there. Naughty Dog even thanks Bungie for help in their credits.
And this leads on to the n...
Yeah, what the hell has happened to the good ol' days? Where games were reviewed at least a month ahead.
All this BS of NDA's and embargo's is purely to try and allow mediocre or disappointing games to secure a few more pre-orders. (Not saying Borderland sis mediocre - I'm really looking forward to it).
If a developer/publisher is confident in it's title it should allow it to be reviewed early (lie Naughty Dog did with Uncharted 2).
The gaming press is ...
Well they have a few options...
1. Port the 360 version of ME1 to PS3 and launch it as a separate game while the 360 owners enjoy their 6-12 months exclusivity of Mass Effect 2. Batman Arkham Asylum has shown that the PS3 can handle unreal engine games well enough now.
2. Add a 'previously on Mass Effect...' video or storyline that could be either integrated in to the game (unlikely) or watched before hand.
3. Add a port of the game on the the Mas...
@Halo 3 MLG pro
"Show me one 360 owner that has said this game is a turd."
You fanboys see everything in such black and white terms.
I own a 360, it's a great console. I love RPG's... but I thought Mass Effect was disappointing and a bit flat. I wouldn't quite call it a turd, but it wasn't far off. Awful driving sections. A large proportion of the game stuck in a lift. Wooden and glitchy graphics. Limited weapons / armour.
@HarukoHex
Thanks for making me see the light, I'm going to order Forza 3 right now. I forgot that having an opinion on N4G that is different from yours was wrong and instantly makes me bias /sarcasm (just in case you didn't get it).
Out of interest, how am I supposed to be biased? Are you saying I'm biased towards multi-plat games just because I don't squeel with girlish prepubescent glee every time Microsoft repackage another game and sells it at full price? ...
This is a nice RPG, I hope it sells well.
It's slightly more hardcore, and has a lot more atmosphere than Oblivion and most other RPG's I've played recently.
For pure fun factor, Dirt 2 is ticking all the boxes for me.
Might pick up Forza 3 when it drops in price as there doesn't seem to be enough new content or improvements to overthrow Forza 2.
EDIT: Oops, meant Dirt 2, not Grid 2 :)
I think it's a fair point Nintendo are making.
But choice is never a bad thing and it's obvious Sony have a strategy around the PlayStation brand.
The PSPGo is the first step towards a fully digital distribution model. Plus it's driving much closer integration between PS3 and PSP.
I'm sure to Sony, it makes perfect sense. An incremental introduction to digital distribution makes it easier for (non-tech savvy) consumers to get used to it.

I don't think EA were going to say anything else but 'oops'.
Has anyone done this comparison between Windows 7 final, the earlier beta, and the RC?
I've been using the Release Candidate (v 7100 I believe) for some time, and it definitely boots faster than my old Vista setup with the same apps/processes running.
I was expecting to see performance increases between RC and Final - as the last remnants of debug code swilling around would have been removed.
I'm a bit confused by this.
I have the UK PAL version of PlayTV.
From what I've read the tuners in PlayTV are DVB-T, and DVB-T2 tuners are required for HD functionality - or is this just the type of encoding the tuners support?
Anyway... To those saying this is a rip off, that's just rubbish. I already have a PS3, so paying £49.99-£59.99 for a dual tuner (possibly HD) freeview box, that turns the PS3 in to a fully functioning PVR is a ba...
