The deal between Bungie and Activision is pretty unique in the industry.
Bungie retain all rights to the IP they create, and have a large degree of autonomy by the sounds of it. So if they ever walked away from Activision they would take everything they have created.
I'd settle for another Myth game, but think Bungie lost the IP.
Totally agree with this.
It seems like a AAA game with a score of less than 9 is automatically a flop. And for a game to be even considered worthy of purchase requires an 8 at least.
It's so stupid. There are some awesome games I have played that may have only scored a 5 or 6 - but we'll never see a sequel because they didn't sell well (and a large part of those bad sales will be down to review scores).
But the industry only has...
Maybe, maybe not... But it's a bloody good device. :)
Bit of a flimsy article from the Telegraph!
@shovelface
And that was the beauty of DS. You could find multiple ways to kill almost anything in the game.
Using bow/arrow on Tower Knight was an easier option, but for those people who had built a melee character, it was a lot tougher. :)
Sony recently said they deploy one firmware across all models.
There is no specific Slim Firmware, so that's why PS2 game saves are still in there.

"The game is made for those that enjoyed Demon Souls.
Did anyone actually 'enjoy' Demons Souls? I found it was more of a love / hate thing! :) Some might even say it was an abusive relationship.
There's probably a legit reason for it. But I thought the same in the original trailer. The main character looked too bright and slightly cartoony compared to the rest of the environments and the creature.
In those screenshots it does look a little toned down compared to the original trailer - and there's still a lot of dev work to be done, so who knows what the final look will be.
Still my most anticipated game though! :)
HD Collections please.
I have a 60GB BC PS3, and rarely use it.
I already own ICO and SotC, but would buy them if they were HD remastered.
I can sum up Rare's legacy.
- Iconic and world class developer until later years of Gamecube
- Sold by Nintendo who laughed all the way to the bank when they realised the talent and magic had gone, and they could offload their stake for a hugely inflated value.
- Turned in to Shovelware developer
The End
Lol. Another case of opinions being like a$$holes... everyone has one and they often stink!
I own a Wii, 360 and PS3. How many games did I buy for the 360 in 2010... Zero.
I may pick up Alan Wake when it hits budget price. Not interested in Halo Reach after Halo 3 disappointed. Forza 3 was not enough of a step on from Forza 2.
On PS3 I've been playing far more games in 2010 - both exclusive and multi-plat.
I don't necessarily agree with MS' strategy (and I do agree with your statements). But MS have clawed a massive amount of market share from Sony, so the 360 can only be seen as a huge success.
For me, the real acid test will be the next generation. In MS' first Xbox gen they established the brand. In the 2nd Xbox gen they grabbed market share. In the next gen they need to, at the very least, consolidate that position and increase profits.
In 2...
When MS started to spin off the 1st party devs I initially thought it was a great idea.
My argument (at the time) was that MS could pick and choose which developer to give their IP to for development - effectively choosing a 'best of breed' approach to games.
Or they could pick and choose up and coming talent to invest in to produce full games (as Sony did with Media Molecule). That model allows MS to leave the initial cost/risk of developing a proto...

I've always been a multi-console gamer right back to the days of Master System vs NES, Commodore 64 vs Speccy and probably even to Atari 2600 vs Intellivision (if that was ever a console war!!). I have no allegiance other than to wanting to play good games.
I thought the Xbox was an amazing machine, and so bought the 360 on Day 1.
But I am also baffled by the rabid praise 360 fanboys heap on the console. It just doesn't make s...
If I were cynical I'd say why would they get hung up on reviews when reviewers give them a free pass!
Lucky I'm not cynical! :)
Yeah, and that makes me concerned that single player story based games are going to get rarer and rarer - or that we see resources wasted tacking on half-arsed, pointless MP to SP games.
@kneon
I agree with you... and maybe they could have gone with a faster capture rate if they had left the CPU in Kinect????
I can't see how people would have ignored Kameo because it looked like a kids game! Pretty much everything Rare produced on N64 had a cartoony look. it was part of the charm.
Kameo was a solid game. I enjoyed it a lot. It had some issues - particularly how much of a faff it was to swap to out the forms, but a sequel would have been amazing, and it was a great showcase for the 360 as a launch title.
I hear what you are saying Tudors, but software can only go so far to improving hardware, and in many cases the software is more of a disguise than a fix.
For example... All cameras have an inherent lag - PS Eye, Kinect, consumer video cameras and so on - it's just part of how they capture and process an image. Just as controllers also have a degree of lag.
Software can be used to hide some of that lag, but ultimately its something that has to be lived w...
Not to be pedantic, but he should USE SOME GRAMMAR, not GRAMMER! :)
OT. Epic Mickey looks like it'll be pretty awesome - it is designed by Warren Spector after all! SOCOM will probably be the title that makes me buy the Move controller. Not impressed by the launch line up.
