You say it seems stupid to you, yet you pick and choose your facts.

Apparently it's not OK to factor in the optional extras that the 360 offers - such as Live, but OK to talk about how we are somehow paying for extra features with the PS3.

Strange that to get hold of a decent 250GB 360 bundle costs about £250 - £299, and to get hold of a PS3 250GB bundle costs about 265, and a 320GB bundle 299. Sure you could argue about the budget 360 model - b...

Is this like MS showing an iPhone killer with W7 Mobile OS?

Or an iPod killer with Zune?

W7 Mobile does some nice stuff, but it'll take a lot for MS to shake the legacy of the older Windows Phones.

Problem MS has is that they marketed the old Mobile Windows so hard as a business OS, and as it failed so massively, it'll be hard to convince people that W7 is intended to compete with iPhone rather than Blackberry

I'm sticking with Android. it fits the middle ground between 'business' and 'consumer' really well. And it j...

Yeah. So true.

Blackberry for business. iPhone and Android for consumers.

Although where I work we're starting to see a big swing from Blackberry to Android. We can also have iPhone's if we want - but few bother.

I'm sure all the console manufacturers will see a spike - mainly due to Black Ops. I expect the 360's spike to be the highest.

I get bored if I play an FPS and just camp. Gets dull real quick for me. Would rather have a crappy Kill Ratio and have fun.

For those that do like camping, fair enough. Each to their own. And if that's how they get their kicks - good for them. it's all about having fun.

I just don't understand the appeal of running to the same one or two spots on a map and just sitting there and pressing one button to get a kill game after game after game.

It really doesn't matter if it's shipped or sold people talk about.

Either way the manufacturer gets their cut. If Sony sold 4+million Move's in to the retail channel then there's only two explanations for the number

1. Retailers have done their forecasts and that's the number they need to meet demand

2. Sony have 'stuffed the channel', which means they have made agreements with retailers to overstock their wareh...

And suddenly having enough stock on the shelves is a bad thing??

Supply and demand FTW!

Agreed Alpha.

I use clay's.... and sometimes I die cus of other people using clay's!!

Maybe brighten the red lights on them, but they are a handy tactical tool. If people want to run around like lunatics - that's their issue.

I'm not a huge fan of sim racers, but I do enjoy the odd blast of Forza or GT (not yet got GT5 though).

However, looking at the bashing GT5 is getting, it's about the things that, for me, don't matter. And the fanboys on both sides are focusing on those irrelevant things.

For example... I've not see a single criticism about a lack of interesting tracks, or the driving / physics model. For me they are the important things. I've seen noth...

I don't believe in these conspiracy theories - but E3'10 showed that Activision is strengthening ties with MS, and EA is strengthening ties with Sony.

If we consistently poor ports fromActi on the PS3 - and we see the PS3 being lead platform for EA - then it's obvious that these business agreements are favouring their respective partners.

Ultimately all businesses want to make a profit. So it doesn't make sense for Activision to wilfully gimp...

So you're saying that if Sony/PD had never announced GT5 at E3'05 - the biggest IP on a Sony console, a series that every man and his dog would have known was coming to PS3, it'd be OK to have these minor problems?

So what you're saying is that games should be reviewed more harshly the longer they have been in development?

So what sort of score do you anticipate for Duke Nukem?

And I guess an easy way to counter this really fa...

I would genuinely be interested in seeing an objective comparison between the important aspects of Forza 3 and GT5 - for me the important parts are, driving model, challenege and fun of the tracks, AI, how poor drivers are punished (i.e. result of hitting barriers or cutting corners).

The current metacritic difference is 6% in Forza's favour. I'd be interested to know what aspects of GT5 make it the lower scoring game, or is Forza 3 over rated / GT5 under scored perh...

When a reviewer receives a game they normally also get a set of notes - like bullet points of what to watch out for, or highlights in the game.

If PD failed to point out that the full damage model needs to be 'unlocked', then it's both PD's fault for not making people/reviewers aware of an important feature; and reviewers who may be pressed for time to get a review out the door not playing the game to it's fullest.

From the sounds of it, n...

For me GT5 (and any racing game) comes down to four things in order of priority...

- How good is the driving model
- How fun are the tracks
- How is the driver 'punished' for poor driving
- How good is the AI and online.

I can deal with 'poor' graphics, limited car selection, and even a dropped frame here and there if the above four things are A+.

No racing game I have played has got all 4 right - includin...

Totally agree with this.

I don't care for a massive number of variations of basically the same car which I'll never bother driving... like Impreza's etc etc

I think PD would have been better off releasing the game with a very low number of cars (maybe less than 100) - and offering the game for a slightly reduced price, then just keep offering the rest as DLC.

In essence they make GT5 a racing platform, rather than a racing game - ...

Hard to know when it comes to PS3.

It wouldn't surprise me if GT5 takes 12 months to hit 5million.

It also wouldn't surprise me if GT5 did less than 1 million in first week.

Who knows! Not me!!

The anticipation for GT5 is palpable, but it'll be interesting to see if the people who bought GT3 and 4 have migrated to PS3.

I rarely, if ever, agree with T9X69, but I do this time.

You don't need to play Animal Crossing for a year to know what sort of game it is. You don't need to play every side mission in Fallout to know how it plays.

Same for GT5.

I am really looking forward to the game - but the hype has got a bit silly in my opinion.

Traditionally my feelings on the GT series:
Good:

Agreed. AI is my biggest concern.

GT5 is not Day 1 for me, but it'll be under the Xmas tree!

I think a lot of people are gonna be disappointed when Sony reveal an Android phone, and announce a 'mini's style' app store and other gaming influenced apps (such as something similar to PS3's gamer profiles).

I could be wrong, but somehow I feel this is not gonna be the 'PSPGo2 with Phone integrated' that many people are hyping it to be.
